• VRSTY Release Cover Of Bad Bunny And Rauw Alejandro’s “Qué Pasaría”

VRSTY have released a new cover of Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro’s “Qué Pasaría.” You can check that out below. Vocalist Joey Tyler commented:

“I have such a deep love for Spanish music and my culture in general, so this song always stuck out to me. There’s something incredibly sexy and forbidden about the original, and I definitely tried my hardest to translate that in my own way! It makes me think that I should just fully commit to doing Spanish songs at some point. We’ll see!”

  • Hatebreed’s New Album Is “Pretty Much Done”

During a recent appearance on the Hardlore podcast, Hatebreed guitarist Frank Novinec offered an update on the band’s new album. According to him, the effort is “pretty much done.”

    Novinec said the following:

“[It’s] coming out this year, yeah. Most, of it’s pretty much — I mean, it’s done.”

He also discussed the group’s latest single “Make The Demons Obey”:

“The nice thing about in this era — I was telling somebody the other day that’s not in the music business like we are — the nice thing about the way things are rolled out now, I think, is you can drop a single even if you have the whole record done, and be, like, ‘All right, now there’s all this time’, where you can really review what you’ve done and you could really change something that you didn’t like or even make another song and all that. It’s not, like, ‘Okay, there’s the record, there’s the two videos. Here’s what are supposed to be the singles. And that’s it.’ So it’s nice to be able to drop the single, which we had a great response for. We love the song. As far as the band’s concerned, we’re real happy with ‘Make The Demons Obey’. And we’ll probably leak another one here soon. And there’ll probably be proper videos coming after that.”

He continued when asked if he has a major role in the songwriting process:

“No. I think I have one riff on one song. It was always [former bassist] Chris [Beattie] and [vocalist] Jamey [Jasta] writing the music. That’s it. From day one, it’s Chris and Jamey. They’re the guys [who wrote all the music] from day one, for the most part.”

He also added the following when asked if Beattie’s departure changed the songwriting dynamic:

“[Guitarist] Wayne [Lozinak], I think, is… We all have our ideas about songs. Songs are presented, [and then we say], ‘Hey, I think we should change this,’ ‘Hey, I think this riff should go longer.’

I’m not a groove dude like that when it comes to writing. I’m not somebody that’s trying to show up and break something that’s not broken.”

Vocalist Joel Birch commented on the single, which focuses on the complicated relationship he and his siblings had with their late mother:

“Our mother died in 2024 and none of us had a healthy relationship with her. She was very self-involved, aggressive, abusive in our early years, and in her later years, spent a good amount of time trying to put a wedge between the three of us. Thankfully, once she passed, the three of us actually became closer as we realized we had individual, but shared trauma related to her.”

  • Flatwounds Announce “Chain Of Command” EP, Premiere “Emulator” Video

Flatwounds have revealed that they will be releasing a new EP, titled “Chain Of Command,” on March 20. Pre-orders can be found HERE.

    “Chain Of Command” Track Listing:

    01. “Emulator“
    02. “Separate“
    03. “Face It“
    04. “Inertia“

    Vocalist Colin O’Hare commented:

“‘Chain Of Command‘ represents how we’ve evolved and matured as musicians. This is our sound. It’s a little weird, dissonant, melodic, and heavy when it needs to be. The title works because most of the songs are about apathy and a lack of action. There’s always a ‘chain of command’ in life, and it keeps you from doing what you want. It could be societal or in your head. You always have to answer to something, though.”

A video for the opening track, “Emulator,” can be found below. O’Hare added the following about that:

“I’ve transitioned from talking about inner subjects to the exterior world. ‘Emulator‘ is about not being who you actually are. You’re living life without any real meaning. There’s no substance. Instead, you’re the type of dude who works a job he doesn’t like, drives a car he doesn’t like, and complains about everything being awful. It’s because he’s not doing anything he loves.”

  • Amira Elfeky Cancels Shows In Australia/Japan “Due To Health Circumstances And Challenges”

Amira Elfeky has cancelled her shows in Australia and Japan. The dates were scrapped “due to health circumstances and challenges beyond [her] control.”

    Elfeky commented:

“To my fans in Australia and Japan,

This is really hard to post, and I know how disappointing this is. Due to health circumstances and challenges beyond my control, I have to cancel my upcoming support and two headline dates in Australia. I never take a decision like this lightly, especially knowing how much time, excitement, and planning goes into showing up for a show.

Knowing that my first ever shows with you sold out makes this even harder to share. I’m incredibly grateful for the love and support you showed.

More than anything, I want to be able to give you the show you truly deserve that feels complete, powerful, and fully present. Right now, I wouldn’t be able to deliver in the way I want to, and I have to honor that for both you and myself.

I will be back, and I can’t wait to perform for you. Thank you for your patience, your love, and for believing in me. I feel it always.

To all ticket holders for my headline sideshows, ticketing outlets will be automatically in touch in the coming days to arrange refunds”
