Thoughtcrimes (Ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan) Premiere New Song “Mirror Glue”

Thoughtcrimes, the project featuring drummer Billy Rymer (ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan), have premiered a new song titled “Mirror Glue.” This track is from the band’s new album “Altered Pasts,” which will be released on August 26.

Singer Rick Pepa commented:

“’Mirror Glue’ feels like the most natural extension of the ‘Tap Night’ EP. Also, I’d be remiss to not mention my little brother Nick Picerno of Godseyes. He lent his talent for a guest vocal performance on the track.”

Rymer added:

“I’ve always been a fan of anthemic drum intros. It’s something that when done right, will always give a song an unmistakable identity. That was the intention when putting this one together. It started with the drums. Everything after that was a linear progression of tension and release, blindsided curve balls and scene changes. There was no jumbling around with parts. It was all written as is in sequence. It’s also the only song we have ever auditioned live prior to tracking.”

Thoughtcrimes (Ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan) Premiere New Song “New Infinities”

Thoughtcrimes, the project featuring drummer Billy Rymer (ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan), have premiered a new song titled “New Infinities.” This track is from the band’s new album “Altered Pasts,” which will be released on August 26. Rymer commented:

“Our good friend Earl Maneein of Seven Suns is an absolute musical genius. This track was a complete accident as he came down to the studio to work on some of his arrangements with me on drums. We had every intention of doing so until we started jamming and wrote this song’s foundation almost entirely in one take. Rick heard the demo and urged for us to put it on the record. With Earl’s blessing, we made that happen. He and Jennifer DeVore performed all of the string arrangements for this and ‘Keyhole Romance.’ Hats off to our producer Mike Watts for nailing the mix on the first pass.”

Rymer said the following about the song:

“This is possibly the most ambitious track we’ve ever made. We wanted to see how far we could push ourselves utilizing dynamics and pure chaos to cohesively create something disgusting yet beautiful. A concept that lead to the treatment of the music video with the high energy performance segments contrasting with the bright colors and gracefulness of the actress.”

Guitarist Brian Sullivan also added the following about the album:

“‘Altered Pasts‘ was shaped by the world around us and within us at the same. This album is both a reflection and synthesis of our cognitive, emotional and spiritual processes, as well as a catharsis.”
