Mantar have premiered a new video for their new song “Hang ‘Em Low (So The Rats Can Get ‘Em).” This track is from the band’s new album “Pain Is Forever And This Is The End,“ which will be released on July 15.
Hanno Klänhardt said the following about the song:
“‘Hang ‘Em Low…‘ is one of the catchiest and strongest tunes we ever did. We thought it deserves a cool video that portrays the key Mantar ingredients: stress, hectic and bad vibes plus a whole lot of beautiful sad Florida nature shots… We are an old school band. We can’t help it. Good old fashioned music videos still rule.”
He also added the following about the album:
“I just knew I wanted to write stronger ‘songs’ in relation to ‘songwriting’ and rely less on being an ‘extreme’ metal act that only convinces through a certain sound or general ‘heaviness. I invested more time on trying to write better songs, interesting structures, and catchy tunes.”

Mantar have signed a new worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records. Their new album is expected to be released through the label later this year. The band commented:
“As a band with a strong DIY background it was very important to us to work with a true independent label that not only respects but encourages our artistic freedom and visions as a band. Physical products still mean everything to us and Metal Blade is still one of the top players in that game. With a dedicated team of true music fans and enthusiasts in Europe and in the US we are happy to have found a new home for our band and motivated worldwide partners for new Mantar tunes.”
Mantar have premiered a new video for their cover of L7’s “Can I Run.” This track is from the band’s new covers album “Grungetown Hooligans II,“ which was officially released today (June 26).
The group commented:
“For the third single of Grungetown Hooligans II which finally drops worldwide today we’ve picked a rather dark yet powerful song. This song is called ‘Can I Run‘ and is originally from the mighty L7 who influenced us a whole lot when we were youngsters.
The lyrics are aggressive, hostile, sad, and most importantly from a female perspective. Violence against women makes us sick to our stomachs and we can’t even begin to imagine the circumstances that women and any persons who are regularly victims of violence and hate experience not only today, but throughout history.
Also we thought it is an appropriate statement for every single person asking us if we were gay for every picture of us holding hands or being somewhat affectionate towards each other. And even though being in a band with just one other person can often feel like a marriage, we are what you would consider “straight” men. Pretty much by accident. So who are we to speak up?
Well, we don´t really know, but who are we if we don’t?! So, sorry for the dark vibes on a Friday but we love the song, the band and you. And yes, Erinc ate the whole fucking cake. Peace.”
Mantar have premiered a new video for their cover of Sonic Youth‘s “100%.“ This track is from the band’s new covers album “Grungetown Hooligans II,“ which will be released on June 26. Hanno Klänhardt commented:
“‘100%‘ was the first song I´ve ever heard from Sonic Youth. Probably on some old mixtape I got from Erinc (drums). The song just rocks, is short and spot on. Perfect Rock ‘n Roll. It still gives me the chills and was the perfect gateway drug for all the wonderful music this exceptional band had to offer. Obviously our video is a homage to the original video and therefore a big bonus for us skateboard pros.”
