Watch Måneskin Perform “Supermodel” At “MTV Video Music Awards”

Earlier tonight (August 28), Måneskin performed their latest single “Supermodel” at the “MTV Video Music Awards” in Newark, NJ. You can see footage of that below. Notably, the broadcast was reportedly censored due to a wardrobe malfunction involving bassist Victoria De Angelis. Frontman Damiano David was also wearing backless chaps during the performance. Despite the controversy surrounding the censorship, the band still took home the “Best Alternative Video” award for “I Wanna Be Your Slave.”

Måneskin Release Cover Of Elvis Presley’s “If I Can Dream”

Måneskin have released their cover of Elvis Presley’s “If I Can Dream.” The song will appear on the soundtrack of the new biopic “Elvis,” which is set to be released on June 24.

Singer Damiano David told NME the following:

“We were talking about it with Baz Luhrmann, who had this really cool, super-smart idea, because it would have been so easy to give us an up-tempo song and go super rock-ish. He saw that between the lines that we were going to be able to give something else to show the sweet side of Elvis. I think we did a great job!”

He also added:

“The meaning of the song is very contemporary: ‘If I can dream of a better land/ Where all my brothers walk hand in hand‘. It’s about uniting, it’s about peace, freedom and happiness, and it’s coming out at the right moment. We’re really proud of what we did, and to be part of this project. I have a feeling it’s going to be amazing.”

Måneskin Premiere “Supermodel” Music Video

Måneskin have premiered a new video for their latest single “Supermodel.” You can check that out below:

The band commented:

“We tried to capture a cinematic vibe about an enigmatic character in the track and we wanted the visual to reflect that. After we came up with the idea, we worked closely with the directors and Ben [Chappell] to recreate frame shots and sequences from our favourite ’90s films. We had so much fun filming it in London, playing funny scenes that reminded us of a detective B-movie.”

Director Bedroom Projects continued:

“The Måneskin video was a project that was inspired by the references of a mixture of ’90s films like Run Lola Run, Reservoir Dogs, as well as Hitchcock and a bit of 1950s Hollywood. The macguffin of the mysterious purse was something out of Marnie or Pulp Fiction. Shot on Super 16.”

Chappell added:

“This video came about after a week of sitting around the pool in LA with the band thumbing through ’90s Vogue magazines and talking about our favourite ’90s movies. We tried to sneak in as many small references as we could throughout the video.”

Watch Måneskin Perform “Supermodel” With Jimmy Fallon On Bass

During the May 20 episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Måneskin performed their song “Supermodel” with Fallon on bass. You can see footage of that below. Fallon was filling in for bassist Victoria De Angelis, who was unable to make the show due to illness.

Måneskin Premiere New Song “Supermodel”

Måneskin have premiered a new song titled “Supermodel.” The band commented:

“We wrote ‘Supermodel’ after spending the best few months in L.A. At times we were surprised yet intrigued to find how people cared so much about the idea of ‘celebrity’ and status, obsessing over their looks and connections. We started to imagine an enigmatic Supermodel character. She is really cool, fun and social, yet in reality she is troubled, hiding sadness and addiction. In a way you love her, because she knows how to have a good time, but you also want to avoid her, because she might get you into trouble.”

Måneskin have joined forces with Iggy Pop for a new version of their song “I Wanna Be Your Slave.” You can check that out below. The original version of the track appears on the band’s latest album “Teatro D’ira: Vol I.” The group commented on the new version of the song:

“It was such an honor that Iggy loved our music and wanted to work with us. It was touching seeing him sing ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’ live in front of us. It was very powerful to see such a big artist being so open and friendly. We all grew up listening to his music and he inspired us to start up a band. It’s still unbelievable for us that we had the chance to get to know him and make music together.”
