The single will also be available as a bonus 7″ that will be included with the vinyl reissue of “Play Fast or Die – Live in Japan,” which is set to be released on May 21. Shane Embury commented:

“I am super stoked with our video for ‘Inside Cthulhu’s Eye‘ from Chariot Of Black Moth it captures the right balance of concept and chaos! It’s been a long 13 months and hearing this song back for the first time in a while I can’t wait for our album to be mixed .. play fast or die !!!”

Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates) Rejoins Lock Up

Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates) has announced his return to Lock Up. With this news, the band have also confirmed that they are working on a new album titled “The Dregs Of Hades.” That effort will be released this fall.

Lindberg said the following:

“I can´t begin to explain how chuffed I am to be back with these, my favourite grinding beasts. When [Napalm Death’s] Shane [Embury] approached me about rejoining, being part of a dual vokill attack together with [Brutal Teeth’s] Kevin [Sharp], I said yes straight away. I love the “Demonization” album, and Kevin‘s vocal delivery there.

So, I was very curious and excited to work together with him, writing and arranging lyrics. My idea is that we have very different vocal styles, and that deathgrind fans now will get the best of both worlds. Adding Adam Jarvis [Pig Destroyer] to the mix has been nothing but a success as well, his relentless bashing has mos def added an extra dimension to the Lock Up sound. It will be a total blast performing these new tracks in front of a crowd, these are full on old-school deathgrind ragers! Again; chuffed!”

Jarvis also commented:

“When Shane first asked me to join the already elite league of extraordinary gentlemen I was beyond ecstatic! THEN…. I find out Tompa was rejoining the band and I went bananas! So excited for everyone to hear what madness we’ve created so far, and for a double assault from Kevin and Tompa that is bound to make you want to punch stuff!”

Embury added:

“I have said before on many occasions that creating songs, recording and playing shows with Lock Up since the band’s inception in 1998 has always been hinged on madness and old-fashioned grindcore comradery!

When we discussed the possibility of another album it made sense I felt to push the insanity further down the rabbit hole and ask Tompa to rejoin ‘The Dregs of Hades‘ to front the band alongside Kevin Sharp – ha! I have always loved that two singer approach, if done right it’s marvellous dynamics, and believe me, this next album is doing it right!!!

When festivals do finally return it’s gonna be a lot of fun and that’s what counts in the end… be prepared!”

Adam Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Etc.) Joins Lock Up

Adam Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, etc.) has joined Lock Up as their new drummer. He will be replacing Nick Barker, who recently exited the band.

Shane Embury (also of Napalm Death) said the following:

“We are extremely thrilled to welcome Adam into the ranks of Lock Up ! I have known Adam for a few years now and we just recently finished a European tour together – a super nice guy and killer skin beater…

Lock up has always been a rollercoaster of a ride since it’s inception way back in 1998 but Adam joining us now in these chaotic times i believe is surely going to refuel this seasoned grind machine … Play Fast or Die!!!”

Jarvis added:

“I’m honored to be included in this killer line-up of incredibly talented musicians. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing these amazing dudes for over ten years and can’t wait to collaborate on some vicious new tunes! I have the utmost respect for Nick Barker and it won’t be easy to fill his shoes, but I’m up for the challenge. GRIND!!!”

Drummer Nick Barker Exits Lock Up

Nick Barker has announced his departure from Lock Up. Despite this, the drummer says he still has “a couple of new musical endeavours in the pipeline.”

Barker commented:

“After ‘not feeling it’ for a considerable amount of time and pondering my future within the ranks of the band, I’ve decided to call it a quits with Lock Up!

There’s no bad blood or ill feeling in any way, those guys are my brothers and I wish them well..

I have a couple of new musical endeavours in the pipeline that will come to light when the time is right.

Id like to take this opportunity to thank my ex-band mates and all the fans around the world for their support over the course of 20+ years I served as drummer in the band…

Much love to you all.”

Shane Embury (also of Napalm Death, etc.) added:

“I am sad to see Nick leave the band” ! But we have discussed this a lot and it’s time to move on for all of us I guess – no bad blood

Along with Jesse Pintado ( RIP) Nick and I formed Lock Up in 1998 !

We have had a fun and crazy ride together on all those years and I wish Nick nothing but the best for the future”
