Epica Premiere Video For Acoustic Version Of “Omega”

Epica have premiered a new video for a new acoustic version of “Omega.” That song is the title track of the band’s new album, which will be released on February 26. Isaac Delahaye commented:

“It’s always a lot of fun to work on acoustic versions of new songs. For this one, I stripped down the title song of our upcoming album and wanted to give it an uplifting country vibe. Also, it’s the first time we are releasing an acoustic version before the actual album version. I absolutely can’t wait for you to discover the original. Hang on, the 26th is coming!”

Epica Premiere New Song “Rivers”

Epica have premiered a new song titled “Rivers.” This track is from the band’s new album “Omega,” which will be released on February 26. Simone Simons commented:

“Our third single has arrived! ‘Rivers’ symbolizes the calmness and at the same time the uncertainty in life, the ebb and flow. The calm water represents peace, and a strong river stream means that you have to face challenges and swim against the tide of life.”

Epica Premiere Video For Acoustic Version Of “Abyss Of Time”

Epica have premiered a new video for a new acoustic version of “Abyss Of Time,” which they are calling “Abyss O’Time.” The original version of the song, which can be found HERE, will appear on the band’s new album “Omega,” which is set to be released on February 26. Coen Janssen commented:

“For the Omega release we rewrote 4 songs into acoustic versions. This is our way of relaxing after a period of working hard and intense on heavy music. Being able to wind down and see if the songs still ‘work’ without all the bombast feels like coming home. It also enables us to explore other musical styles than metal and challenges us to be creative in a different way than we are used to. Enjoy our first single ‘Abyss of Time’ as if it was played in an Irish Pub while enjoying a nice pint with all your friends!!”

Epica Premiere “Freedom – The Wolves Within” Video

Epica have premiered a new video for their new song “Freedom – The Wolves Within.” This track is from the band’s new album “Omega,” which will be released on February 26.

Mark Jansen commented:

“This song is based on an old story of a fight between two wolves. A wise Cherokee is discussing life with his grandson: He tells the boy, ‘There is a fight going on inside of me between two wolves.’ One wolf is evil, he embodies anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other wolf is good, joyful, peaceful, and embodies love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. We all have the same fight going on inside of us and the outcome of this battle will reflect on the outer world. The boy gets curious and asks his grandfather which wolf will win? The old Cherokee simply answers, ‘The one you feed the most.’ What we want to be and what we want to reflect on the world around us depends on which wolf we feed and also the degree of control we have over our inner wolves. Will we manage to control them or will they control us?”

Epica Premiere “Abyss Of Time” Video, Reveal Details For New Album “Omega”

Epica have premiered a new video for their new song “Abyss Of Time.” This track is from the band’s new album “Omega,” which will be released on February 26, 2021.

Simone Simons said the following about the new video:

“Finally we can show you the video for our newest single ‘Abyss Of Time’! We flew all the way to Poland to work with Grupa 13 for the first time. Shooting videos is one of my favorite parts of creating the visual side to our music. The costumes were insanely beautiful. It was so much fun and I hope that you like the video.”

Mark Jansen also added the following about the album:

“I am very proud of this album, as I am convinced we have written a very refreshing and well-balanced album even after so many years of existence. Our strength is that we have many great songwriters in one band. We have managed to combine each other’s strongest qualities and select the best songs. It was a fruitful period of spending time together to work as one team on those tracks. I think this has made the biggest difference compared to our previous albums. Still using the advantages of comfortably sending files by the Internet to each other but combining that with coming physically together again to work on all the tracks. I think I have listened to ‘Omega’ about 50 times already and still can’t get enough of it!”

Mark Jansen Says Epica’s New Album Is “Recorded, Mixed And Mastered”

Epica’s Mark Jansen has confirmed that the band’s new album has already “been recorded, mixed, mastered.” However, the guitarist also added that the release has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jansen said the following during a recent appearance on Sepultura’s “SepulQuarta” series:

“We are basically done working on it. All the album has been recorded, mixed, mastered. The artwork is finished. It’s just because of the COVID situation that we release it a bit later than the initial plan was, because the initial plan was, I guess, September, so this month. But due to the whole situation, we postponed it to early next year. And luckily, we could finish all the recording just because the quarantine, like the choir recordings, orchestra recordings, that was really literally finished just before the whole quarantine situation started. And after the shit was over — a bit back to normal — we could go to Poland to shoot some videos and do the photo shoot in Belgium. So everything is ready to be released. It’s just waiting for the date now.”

He went on to say that he has “never had to wait so many months” before releasing an album:

“We’ve been working so hard on it, and then you want the people to hear it. And now that we have to wait months and months and months, it’s sometimes hard to keep the focus.”
