Dr. Acula Premiere “How To Kill A Monster” Music Video

Dr. Acula have premiered a new video for their new song “How To Kill A Monster.” This track is from the band’s new self-titled album, which will be released on October 28. The group commented:

“US politics have garnered a fanaticism that’s more akin to sports, except politics have real consequences on our lives. People blindly cheer on their team and loathe the opposition with a surface-level understanding of the policies they support and even less of an understanding of the effect on society. The reality is, both sides create policy and take actions that have material impact on not only the lives of the US population, but the world at large. This song is a fantastical vision of the removal of the powers-that-be.”

Dr. Acula Premiere New Song “Welcome To Dead House”

Dr. Acula have premiered a new song titled “Welcome To Dead House.” This track is from the band’s new self-titled album, which will be released on October 28.

Bassist Rob Guarino commented:

“The song’s about watching someone who is your entire world, be ripped from existence. It’s something we deal with all the time as humans, but when it happens to you personally you feel so isolated and alone and angry. It causes you to harp on things that no one else noticed, start to blame others for what was ultimately out of their control, just as much as it was out of yours.

‘It all ends and starts with death’ is the hopeless thought that consumes your brain. Everything good is gone. What is this new chapter going to bring, that is in any way better than what I just had? Any positive experience will immediately be diminished by the fact that you can’t share it with them. The song is selfish, erratic, and confused. Exactly how I felt after my mom passed.”

Dr. Acula Premiere New Song “The Abominable Snowman Of Pasadena”

Dr. Acula have premiered a new song titled “The Abominable Snowman Of Pasadena.” This track is from the band’s new self-titled album, which will be released on October 28.

Vocalist Rob Accadri commented:

“We’ve written a lot of songs about how partying and doing drugs is fun. With this album we really wanted to explore the darker side, both lyrically and musically.”

Guitarist Lou Figurito continued:

“It’s a new perspective that comes with experience. Going from youthful recklessness and invincibility to the realization that the down sides will eventually get the upper hand. ‘Snowman‘ is a first-person perspective of one of those nights, turned early mornings, where that realization starts to settle in.”

Bassist Rob Guarino added:

“To put it frankly, this chapter of Dr. Acula is a ‘party’s over’ vibe. When we started over 15 years ago, it was all fun and games. We weren’t really paying attention. Now we’ve grown, our fans have grown, and there’s a conversation to be had. Life isn’t great for most people these days and we wanted to write something that could touch on that. Those are the songs that move us personally and we wanted to challenge ourselves to make that for someone else.

The album’s overarching theme is that of being stuck on a loop. A loop where shit keeps going wrong. Even if you see it coming, you may not be able to fix it because it’s out of your hands. The horror theme of the song titles ties into how terrifying life can be.”
