Owens told Billboard the following:

“It’s done. It just couldn’t stay afloat. There were just kind of, not necessarily bad vibes, but we came to the realization that we can’t do it full-time. I think it just stopped becoming a passion for all of us, so we said, ‘Alright, let’s stop.’”

Owens will continue to make music in his new project BXC (a.k.a. badXchannels). Check out his first track titled “One Car Funeral” below. BXC’s first EP “WHYDFML” will be available on November 18.

Chiodos Part Ways With Matt Goddard & Derrick Frost

Chiodos have parted with ways with drummer, Derrick Frost and bassist, Matt Goddard. This news comes right after Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta, Suicidal Tendencies) revealed that he would be playing drums for the band, on the Parks and Devastation Tour. Now, the band has also revealed that along with Pridgen, bassist, Joe Troy (Rx Bandits), will be joining the band.

Here’s the band’s official statement:

“We are excited and gearing up for The Parks and Devastation Tour that starts on Thursday, September 4th with A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, and Motionless And White. Before we hit the road we have some both exciting and unfortunate news. Derrick Frost and Matt Goddard have both chosen to discontinue touring and recording but instead spend more time with their loved ones and pursue other interests at home.

It’s been a long and great journey with both of these gentleman, Matt dating back to the very beginning, and Derrick a part of three albums with us. We wish them the best in all that they choose to do moving forward. They’ve been long time brothers to us and always will be. Our good friends Thomas Pridgen and Joe Troy are coming to rock with us.

We have been rehearsing like crazy in Michigan so get ready for a great show. We’re very excited to have them join us on this journey as we’ve always been fans of their musicianship. We can’t wait for you all to experience this with us as we continue to tour and write new material. See you at a city near you soon!”
