Cadaver Premiere “Let Me Burn” Lyric Video

Cadaver, the band featuring Anders Odden (Satyricon) and Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), have premiered a lyric video for their new song “Let Me Burn.” This track is from the band’s new album “Edder & Bile,” which was released today (November 27).

Odden commented:

“‘Let Me Burn’ came to me at night, after one of our intense studio days in January 2019. I just got the opening riff and it led me out on this path that became the song. It was raining in North Hollywood that night and the whole feel of doom and gloom was shining through. I had with me a recording of my fireplace in Norway and knew this would make an awesome ending to the album. The song is about how we all will end up as ashes no matter who we are and what we do. It’s a nihilistic theme that means even more to me now after facing death with my cancer battle. When I was close to dying this winter, I always thought of having this song played super loud at my funeral with all the people having to read the lyrics during the ceremony. As I am not quite dead yet. I use it to tell you I cheated death, for now. Let Me Burn. I have no fear!”

Cadaver Premiere “Reborn” Video

Cadaver, the band featuring Anders Odden (Satyricon) and Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), have premiered a new video for their new song “Reborn.” This track is from their new album “Edder & Bile,” which will be released on November 27.

Odden commented:

“‘Reborn‘ is one of those songs that just jumps out and grabs you as a listener. The way nothing in the song repeats is a symbol of time itself. The lyrics are about not being afraid of who you are and that you should claim your own throne in life. So many things will go wrong with every one of us and I wanted the video for the song to both represent our current time and become timeless.

In 1896, the famous Norwegian artist, Theodore Kittelsen, depicted the Black Death as a spirit in human form as a woman named ‘Pesta’. She plays with our lives, making us feel fragile while the pest doctor symbolizes our defense against death. It is there to remind everyone of our origins, every human has the shadow of a beast.

We are all gonna die at the end no matter our triumphs – only death is real. But, while we wait for the end we should be celebrating the post-apocalyptic world we are heading into.”

Cadaver Premiere “Morgue Ritual” Video, Reveal Details For New Album “Edder & Bile”

Cadaver, the band featuring Anders Odden (Satyricon) and Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), have premiered a new video for their new song “Morgue Ritual.” This track is from the band’s new album “Edder & Bile,” which will be released on November 27.

“Edder & Bile” Track Listing:

01. “Morgue Ritual”
02. “Circle Of Morbidity”
03. “Feed The Pigs”
04. “Final Fight”
05. “Deathmachine”
06. “Reborn”
07. “The Pestilence”
08. “Edder & Bile”
09. “Years Of Nothing”
10. “Let Me Burn”

Odden said the following about the record:

“I met Dirk Verbeuren during the 70000 Tons Of Metal festival in 2014. He was sitting in for Frost in Satyricon and we played two shows together. It turned out that Dirk was a huge Cadaver fan, and at the time, I had several songs in the making for what I thought might be a solo album. The idea of kicking this all into the third version of Cadaver came into life and we started to share ideas. We had about 10 songs by the time Dirk was on tour in Europe with Megadeth in 2016. They played in my neighborhood and we spent the afternoon jamming. Cadaver was reborn. I started to pile up ideas for new tracks and time went by.

I really wanted this to sound like Cadaver and be up to date, yet timeless. The music is what we both consider as death metal. I have my own way of writing riffs and he has his own way of expressing them on drums that just fits and sounds great.

We finally found the time to hit the studio in early 2019 and recorded the album in L.A. where Dirk lives and works.

The music just sparks of energy and freshness from the experience we had jamming together. We are truly kindred spirits and are in this for the long run, for sure. ‘Edder & Bile’ is the manifestation of our commitment to music and the start of everlasting life for the old Cadaver.”

Verbeuren added:

“‘Hallucinating Anxiety’ threw me for a loop when I first heard it as a teenager. As such albums tend to do, it quickly became one of my favorites. I followed Cadaver through various incarnations over the years, and when the chance to work with Anders unexpectedly presented itself, needless to say, I didn’t have to mull it over.

Our goal was for ‘Edder & Bile’ to capture the spontaneous, filthy energy of death metal. It was an effortless collaboration — things just naturally fell into place and the result speaks for itself. Feast upon this, death fiends!”

Cadaver Release New EP “D.G.A.F.”

Cadaver, the band featuring Anders Odden (Satyricon) and Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), have digitally released a new EP titled “D.G.A.F.” The effort comes with three songs including the title track, which features Jeff Walker (Carcass), “Deformed Insanity,” and “Disgrace.”

Odden commented:

“In 1989, Cadaver got signed to Necrosis Records owned by Jeff Walker and Bill Steer from Carcass. Cadaver’s debut album, ‘Hallucinating Anxiety’, was released in 1990 as Norway’s first death metal LP. Now, in 2020, Nuclear Blast have embraced the resurrection of Cadaver and release the EP ‘D.G.A.F.’ with a tip of the hat to the legacy of Carcass. Jeff Walker even join us in the chorus this time around. We are super stoked to release this beast during this very special time. Get your mind off the craziness and enjoy old school death metal.”

Verbeuren added:

“As a legendary band once said, extreme conditions demand extreme responses. We were going to release a three-song EP sometime after our new album came out, but then a global pandemic happened. While the full-length will arrive at a later date, here’s ‘D.G.A.F.’ in all its brutal glory and on Nuclear Blast, which we couldn’t be more stoked about. Consider these misanthropic death metal hymns our soundtrack to the end of days.”

Cadaver Premiere “Circle Of Morbidity” Video

Anders Odden (Satyricon) has joined forces with Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth) to relaunch his old band Cadaver. You can check out a video for their new song “Circle of Morbidity” below. The track features guest vocals from Jeff Becerra (Possessed) and it is expected to appear on the group’s upcoming album “Edder & Bile.”

Odden said the following about Cadaver’s return:

“In my heart I have always had the notion that Cadaver exists somehow. Dirk played session live work for Satyricon on the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise in 2014 and we got to know each other then. He talked about how much he loved Cadaver and I then told him that I had been recording demos for 10 years without a drummer….so, being the guy he is, he then says, ‘Send the songs to me!”

He also had the following to say about working with Becerra:

“When I heard Possessed for the first time in 1985, I knew this was my kind of music. To have the original creator of death metal on our comeback single is huge for me, I am beyond thrilled to show everybody what we have been cooking up this time around.”

Becerra added:

“It was a great honor being asked by Anders to sing backup vocals on ‘Circle of Morbidity’. Of course, working with Anders Odden & Dirk Verbeuren is like a fantastic nightmare, brutal and heavy as hell. Congratulations to Anders Odden/Cadaver on this brand new single. Amazing song, thank you!”
