Tribulation Recording New Album

Tribulation have officially started the recording process for their new album. The band confirmed the news in the below post:

Tribulation Share “Here Be Dragons” Live Video From “Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern”

Tribulation have shared a new live video for “Here Be Dragons.” The footage is from their new live release, “Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern,” which is available now. The effort was recorded during the band’s December 8, 2018 show at the Södra Teatern in Stockholm, Sweden, in which they played “Down Below” in full and other fan favorites.

The group commented:

“As the title suggests, we left shore and headed into uncharted waters with this one, and it ended up being one of the most Romantic and Gothic songs to-date. We actually almost scratched it completely before we got through the recording! Luckily the stars aligned, we mustered through it and made it work! As if heading into uncharted territory wasn’t enough, it was also the first – and so far only – time we’ve played the song live. We’re all glad we did since it’s a song that we’ve had requested countless times since the release of ‘Down Below’, and now everyone who so wishes can partake in that very performance – and who knows, we might play it again. Don’t you hear the distant howling of the wolf?”

Tribulation Share “Strains Of Horror” Live Video From “Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern”

Tribulation have shared a new live video for “Strains Of Horror.” The footage is from their new live release, “Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern,” which will be available digitally on November 15 and as a 2-CD/1-DVD set and as a LP/DVD set on November 29. The effort was recorded during the band’s December 8, 2018 show at the Södra Teatern in Stockholm, Sweden, in which they played “Down Below” in full and other fan favorites.

The group had the following to say about the clip:

“We finally got to play “Strains of Horror” again, something that’s only happened a couple of times before because of the heavy use of organs in it. And like the times when we’ve played it before we once again had the help from our good friend – and great organist – Sofia Rydahl!

It’s a song that goes back and forth between the serene dark depths and the wuthering heights, though it never quite enters those empyrean realms, luckily. It’s a journey in a way and it constantly lingers within those brooding shadows, yet brooding shadows still have their beauty, and because of this we felt that this was the song that was going to end the whole thing. We also wanted to give the fans something other than the more predictable songs for this single, and we can only hope that you all concur!”

Tribulation Share “Strange Gateways Beckon” Live Video From “Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern”

Tribulation have shared a new live video for “Strange Gateways Beckon.” The footage is from their new live release, “Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern,” which will be available digitally on November 15 and as a 2-CD/1-DVD set and as a LP/DVD set on November 29. The effort was recorded during the band’s December 8, 2018 show at the Södra Teatern in Stockholm, Sweden, in which they played “Down Below” in full and other fan favorites. The group had the following to say about the clip:

“To celebrate the release of our very first live album, we’re letting you have a glance of what’s to come from this special gloomy winter night. As the first single of ‘Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern‘, we selected one of the classics from ‘The Children Of The Night‘, none other than ‘Strange Gateways Beckon‘. This song has almost always been present in our live rituals, so it’s a well-deserved first choice to rest your starry eyes upon…”

Tribulation To Release “Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern” In November

Tribulation have announced that they will be digitally releasing a new live album titled “Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern” on November 15. It will also be available as a 2-CD/1-DVD set and as a LP/DVD set on November 29. The effort was recorded during the band’s December 8, 2018 show at the Södra Teatern in Stockholm, Sweden, in which they played “Down Below” in full and other fan favorites.

The group commented:

“Playing Stockholm is always a special occasion for us, and since we’ve been living here for so long it in a way feels like playing at home. Since it’s a special thing for us, we always try to make it special for everyone else as well. Having the show at Södra Teatern made finding these special things easier than if we had been at a different location since just being there provided us with a beautifully haunting backdrop and gave us half of the ideas.

Having the show in two acts is something that we’ve had in mind for quite some time, and being at an old theatre obviously made this the perfect opportunity. Along with the two acts we also had Orvar Säfström as a compere or as a, more dramatic sounding, master of ceremonies framing the evening with two short speeches at the beginning of each act.

We played ‘Down Below‘ from start til finish in the first act with a stage set up we’ve never used before, something that could hint at a future development. Time will tell. The second act was the more traditional act with the old stage design and an array of old songs. The best thing about it might be that this event might be the first of similar events in the future, but those would, if they happen, obviously be even more grandiose! Again, time will tell.”
