Stanley Simmons Announce May California Shows
Stanley Simmons, the project featuring Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons, the sons of KISS’ Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, have booked some May shows in California. Here’s the dates:

Buckcherry Have Seven Songs Written For Their New Album
During a recent interview Mark Strigl, Buckcherry singer Josh Todd offered an update on the band’s next album. According to him, the group already have seven songs written.
Todd said the following:
“Actually, as soon as I get off here, I’m gonna record an idea that I’ve been thinking of. We’ve already written — God, Stevie and I have written, like, seven songs already for the new record. And this is just us working out a little bit before we hook up with Marti Frederiksen. Because once we get with Marti, we write very fast. I told Marti, I go, ‘Let’s just make a BUCKCHERRY record in two weeks,’ ’cause we can. And it’s great. We write very fast and efficiently.
When we fly to Nashville and we do songwriting with Marti, it’s pretty amazing because we’ll get a hotel room, and we have this schedule where Stevie and Marti will link up in the mornings and they’ll get a good musical composition together. And then they’ll send it to me by, like, 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. Then I’ll write lyrics and melodies all night in my hotel room. And then I come down the next day and sing it. And then the process starts again. I’m, like, ‘Marti,’ I go, ‘I’ve always wanted to just make a record from beginning to end in two weeks, and no breaks, no days off.’ And he’s, like, ‘We can’t do that.’ He said that to me at one point. And then the next record, cut to ‘Roar Like Thunder’ we just did it, he goes, ‘You know what? I think we can do it.’ And I go, ‘Yeah, we can.’ And it’s fun. It’s challenging, and it’s really exciting making records.
Yeah, ‘Roar Like Thunder’ came out last year, and we tour two years on a record. So what we do on the second year of a record cycle is we start accumulating demos and ideas, and then by the end of the year, we’ll go in with Marti, we’ll do the songwriting and we’ll record a new record and drop it sometime next year, like probably before summer or at summer.”
He also added the following about working with Marti Frederiksen:
“Oh, we have a long, long history. We met up with Marti way back, on the ’15’ songwriting cycle. He co-wrote ‘Sorry’ with us. And that’s when the relationship started. It just blossomed. I just love him. And when we get in a room with him, it’s, like, he just really understands this band for the right reasons. And when we write songs, it’s, like, the best idea wins. There’s no egos. It’s fun, and I learn a lot. He’s a really talented guy. And I think he learns a lot from us as well. And we have a lot of fun together.”

Madball Plan To Release New Album “Not Your Kingdom” In May
During an appearance on the HardLore podcast, Madball frontman Freddy Cricien offered an update on the band’s upcoming album “Not Your Kingdom.” According to him, the effort will be released in May.
Cricien said the following:
“It’s called ‘Not Your Kingdom’. And I predict that you’re gonna love the cover. It’s a very throwback vibe. [It has] a nostalgic feel to it, but it’s also current. It’s very in line with like the lyrical content and the message. And it’s by far the most diverse MADBALL album, even more so than ‘For The Cause’, which I thought ‘For The Cause’, we did a lot of different stuff, which we were happy to do, because you can’t just keep doing the same album over and over.
Obviously, you wanna hear our sound, but I like that we were venturing out and doing different stuff on that one. And this one is — yeah, there’s some songs that are reminiscent of ‘Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop’… It’s very eclectic in the best way, I think. It’s gonna be for the people to judge. But I’m super proud of it. And writing with these guys was very natural. It wasn’t forced. It wasn’t, like, ‘Oh.’ We all were hungry. It’s been 2018 since we put out an album.”
He also added the following about release plans:
“May. It kept getting pushed back because of just nonsense. The album was done, but then we had to get it remixed, ’cause we didn’t like the first mix. And then artwork got held up. And then you gotta wait for it to go into the Nuclear Blast system, which is always, like, ‘Why can’t you just drop this tomorrow?’ That’s not how it works. So now it’s finally in the system, and it’s gonna come out in May. I think people are gonna dig it. I hope so.”
