  • URNE Premiere “The Spirit, Alive” Music Video

URNE have premiered a new video for their new song “The Spirit, Alive.” This track is from their new album, “Setting Fire To The Sky,” which will be released on January 30. Frontman Joe Nally said the following about the single:

“We are proud to present ‘The Spirit, Alive’, the third single from our upcoming album ‘Setting Fire To The Sky‘. This was the very first track we started writing for Album 3. From the beginning, we knew we wanted this record to feel uplifting; this track became a gateway to that vision. This song is about hope, the human spirit, and a fire that never goes out – what better time to release it than Bonfire night?! Listen to this loud and keep the spirit alive!!”

I Promised The World have signed a new deal with Rise Records. The band’s new self-titled EP will be released through the label on January 16. That effort will feature five tracks including: “Proud,” “A Pure Expression,“ “Bliss In 7 Languages,“ “Future Worth Dying For,“ and “Emerald Waltz.“ A video for “Bliss In 7 Languages” can be found below. The group said the following about working with Rise Records:

“It’s an unreal feeling to be signed to Rise, a label that has history with many of the bands that have inspired us along the way. We hope this record connects to both old and new listeners by giving nostalgia and an improved version of our sound.”

  • Unauthorized Wayne Static And Tera Wray Documentary To Begin Production In January

Matt Zane is working on a new documentary focusing on the relationship between the late Wayne Static (Static-X) and the late Tera Wray. The filmmaker, who was a close friend of the married couple, will be launching a crowdfunding campaign for the project when production begins in January.

Zane said the following about his friendship with the couple:

“Most people are unaware that I knew Wayne for about 14 years, and I actually knew his wife Tera before him. We were all close, and I worked on every project he did after leaving Static-X.

He went on to discuss the film:

“I filmed bits and pieces over the years, but we needed a few solid weeks in the desert at their house to finish it — that was the plan. Unfortunately, funding fell through. I know this is something Wayne and Tera wanted to get done, and they wanted me to do it. I feel I owe them this — to tell their story the way they wanted it told.”

He also confirmed that it will include unreleased music:

“There’s about an EP’s worth of material Wayne and I recorded for a movie Tera was doing, but his label stepped in and stopped it. Some of those ideas ended up on ‘Pighammer’, but the rest has been sitting in my archives. I’m revisiting it now and will finish some of it with help from A.I. technology.”

Zane is currently seeking friends, colleagues, and associates who may have stories about the couple. Those interested can connect through EveryoneDiesTheMovie.com.

Notably, the documentary is unauthorized. Wayne Static and Tera Wray’s families and Static-X have no involvement.

  • Disturbed Frontman David Draiman Explains The Band’s Upcoming Break: “We’re TIRED, PERIOD.”

As previously reported, Disturbed are currently planning to “take quite a bit of time off next year.” As such, some have speculated that it could be related to backlash stemming from frontman David Draiman’s fierce support of Israel. The band’s Brussels, Belgium show was recently cancelled due to his stance, which saw him going as far as signing an artillery shell in Israel. Despite the controversy, Draiman has confirmed that the break is only motivated by a need for rest. The singer issued the following statement:

    “For the record;

    1. Taking a break because we’re TIRED, PERIOD.

    2. Any spin by the media is just that…spin. We’re all doing great, and are on great terms.

3.The European tour was the biggest of our career. We played to packed arenas every night. Let’s do it again sometime”
