02. “WEAPON”
03. “Save Your Roses”

Mothica said the following:
“Like a moth to a flame, I’ve been attracted to drugs, alcohol, and self-destruction. As Mothica grows, I’ve asked, ‘How can I make the darkness I’m attracted to be positive and utilize it as a vessel for sharing my story?’ It’s hard not to get lost in the dark sides of life and the music industry; it’s easy to compare yourself to others and feel ‘not good enough,’ but I’ve decided to take everything I’ve been through and to use it in order to inspire.”
She also discussed how her 2024 relapse and tour cancellation influenced the EP:
“I made the terrifying decision to cancel my first-ever headline tour and went to rehab. A lot of intense emotions I had been numbing came up. I thought about quitting music because the anxieties around traveling and the industry is what lead me back to substance abuse. I was mad at myself for letting it go that far. Finally, I thought, ‘Why don’t I channel these feelings into some angry music?’ I’ve always wanted to combine pop songwriting with grittier, heavier guitars.
Due to my depression and being a recovering addict, I’m so ‘all or nothing.’ Everything seems fatalistic to me. How do I exist in the middle? While making the EP, I had just gotten out of rehab, and I was able to be vulnerable. A lot of the words were initially written as poetry on my phone, and the lyrics are the most vulnerable and poetic I’ve ever written. I’m dealing with my struggle to get sober again, my first major breakup, and other significant life events. For so long, I had been numbing out my emotions. I was finally able to process them, and it was freeing.”
A video for the EP track “Save Your Roses” can be found below. Mothica added the following about that:
“I wanted to write a song that on the surface sounds like it’s about a lover I’m pining after, but is actually about substances. The verses are about how intoxicating it is to lose yourself in drugs, and mirrors my experience with sobriety. The lyric in the chorus ‘Don’t save your roses for my grave’ is inspired by a conversation I had with a fan after one of my shows in Paris. They said ‘I believe we should give people their flowers while they’re here.’ That stuck with me–that we often tell people how much they mean to us only after they’re gone. It was fun to make this explosive, energetic production with Elliot Polokoff but layer that with lyrics that have a darkness to them.”
She also commented on the video:
“I wanted an energetic and fun performance set in the offices of Mothicorp. I got to feature some incredible musicians, Jayden Hammer on guitar, Brittany Nicole Bowman on drums, and Tay (aka thewitchybassist) on bass. I had a bunch of friends suit up to be employees of Mothicorp and play with this idea of a surreal workplace with messy and bizarre cubicles. Ryan (Joseph) and I planned everything in advance so we could shoot it while on set for the ‘Evergreen Misery’ music video, and approached it with this run and gun energy. You might even see some easter eggs from previous Mothica music videos in the offices.”
Worm have recruited former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman for a new song titled “Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade.” That track will appear on the band’s new album, “Necropalace,” which will be released on February 13.

Bassist Clankenstein commented:
“We are going where no slamming death metal band has gone before – Nintendo 64.
That’s right, it’s time to get N or get out. To celebrate Daryl ‘The Frogman’ Boyce’s first release as our new vocalist, we decided to make it something truly special, and there’s nothing more special than a console that’s lifespan ended in 2001. Vominic Stonebones painstakingly designed and ported the cartridge himself. The Frogman sounds like unfettered pressurized sewerage pouring all over these tracks, and we couldn’t be happier with how disgusting these vocals are, it’s a new era of Party Slam.
It’s been a mental year for Party Cannon – played every festival ever, toured non-stop, new vocalist, the official addition of a skull man to the band – so we wanted to give you all a taste of the new low the band has sunk to rather than making you wait 7 years for a new album (again).
We took a slightly different approach to writing this EP, we distilled our sound down to its four main components– slam, goregrind, early 2000s brutal death metal, and NYDM – and wrote a song that focused on each of those styles while still retaining the Party Slam sound. So one song is slam focused, one is goregrind etc. As a spicy treat, we also invited some of our friends to join in on the dumbassery – the EP features remixes from low IQ legends Kmac2021, Frontierer and Ritual Studio.
As a bonus, we’ve released the live video of ‘Human Slime’ at Obscene Extreme 2025 on the Unique Leader Youtube channel today. I do not believe you will find a more debauched or IQ damaging live video anytime soon. You may wish to wear to goggles while watching it. See you all on the road this year, big things coming soon, let me borrow your amp.”
Omnium Gatherum have released a new song titled “Moongold.” The track was recorded during the “May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way” sessions.
Frontman Jukka Pelkonen commented:
“‘Moongold’ follows the overall style of the album. It’s fast and full of energy, and while the song is somewhat stripped down, its layers start to reveal themselves after a few listens. ‘Moongold’ is one of my favorites from these sessions, and I really hope it will make its way into our setlist in the future – after all, this song was written specifically with live performance in mind.”
Guitarist Markus Vanhala added:
“‘Moongold’ was originally released as an ‘Eastern wonder,’ meaning a Japan-exclusive around the time the album came out. In the end, we decided to leave it off the album itself, as it didn’t quite fit the overall flow and we wanted the record to be a short, sharp burst of aggression. That said, the song stands very strong on its own as a melodic death metal anthem and is pure OG – perhaps a slightly more old-school version. And now, here it is, served to you and to your loved one, for these moonlit afternoons The calendar is full – just the way it suits us, and there’s more to come. It fits a band whose core is that of an honest, sweaty live machine.”
