Thursday’s Geoff Rickly To Release New Novel “Someone Who Isn’t Me” In July

Thursday’s Geoff Rickly will be releasing a new novel, titled “Someone Who Isn’t Me,” on July 25 via Rose Books. Here’s a description of the book:

“Geoff Rickly’s debut novel ‘Someone Who Isn’t Me’ is a feverish journey through the psyche of someone who no longer recognizes himself. When Geoff hears that a drug called ibogaine might be able to save him from his heroin addiction, he goes to a clinic in Mexico to confront the darkest and most destructive versions of himself. In this modern reimagining of the Divine Comedy, survival lurks in the darkest corners of Geoff’s brain, asking, will he make it? Can anyone?”

The band commented:

“We are so psyched to pop open the (alcohol free) champagne and announce that our baby blue little girl ‘Full Collapse‘ is 21 years old! We have been party planning with our friends over at Craft Recordings MDRN DVSN and the elegant lensman himself Nathaniel Shannon for a very long time to bring this box set to you!

We tried really hard to make this a special release and it’s part coffee table book, part album, part piece of art, with a very special surprise contained within! All we know is this. Since the dawn of time, our accountant has shouted at us, at every opportunity possible! Who can blame him! When we gave him this box set, he told us it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen in his life and gave us all a hug! It is that nice that it can melt even the most cynical of hearts!”

Thursday Cancel Three Shows Due To Injury

Thursday have cancelled three concerts including shows in Reading, PA, Washington DC, and Huntington, NY. The band scrapped the dates due to Geoff Rickly breaking his foot.

The group commented:

“In order to allow Geoff recovery and recuperation time for his leg, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Reading, PA, Washington DC and Huntington, NY shows. It’s never easy to cancel shows but we do promise that we will be back in the Pennsylvania, New York and the DC Metro area’s once we get back to full strength. Refunds are available from point of purchase.

Rest assured that we have very exciting touring plans on the horizon!

In the meantime, many of you have been asking about ‘certain things’ and let’s just say that some of the finest warehouse workers in Albany are currently stacking shelves in preparation for two big announcements. The first will come at the end of March and the second will come in May. There will be no ‘waiting’ this time!!!!!

We cannot wait to see all our friends in Tennessee and Texas over the next week and then we are gonna go home, retire the scooter, get better and do some cool things. We will see you all later in the year!!!!! Nashville – we will see you tonight at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville…”

Please see below for the amended tour dates, which are now broken into three segments between next week and March 13th.

Cursive and The Appleseed Cast are able to do everything and Jeremy Enigk is able to do select dates. Nate Bergman joins us also. Washington DC and Reading, PA reschedules are coming soon. All original tickets remain valid for new shows / please see local listings for specific policies on everything else. All us and our friends want to do is play music and we are trying our hardest to play music. See you soon. Also just when you thought the world couldn’t get any weirder both Tim Kasher and Tucker Rule are on mainstream TV tonight. Tim is on a gameshow [‘Chain Reaction‘] and Tucker is banging the tubs on Late Night with Seth Meyers“

Thursday Postpone The First Leg Of Their Tour With Cursive, Jeremy Enigk, & The Appleseed Cast

Thursday have postponed the first leg of their winter tour with Cursive, Jeremy Enigk, and The Appleseed Cast. New dates have yet to be revealed.

Thursday commented:

“Hey Everyone! First of all, Happy New Year and thank you again for tuning into the Signals V2 re-run last week. It meant so much to us.

We have made the difficult decision to postpone the first part of the January tour. We will now start in Detroit on January 19th.

The January shows in Virginia Beach, Asheville, Louisville, Nashville, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Kansans City, Reading, DC, and Sayreville are currently being rescheduled.

The February West Coast tour remains the same.

The reality is that these days decisions made concerning touring are not totally in our hands. Recommendations from the likes of our crew and the other artists on the bill (never-mind our families) have become a bigger part of the conversation as we try our best to navigate these current circumstances.

No one wants to be out there playing more than the five of us. It’s what we love the most. We are trying our damndest to integrate the reschedules ASAP and we genuinely cannot wait to play for you again

– THURSDAY“

Here’s the remaining dates:

01/19 Detroit, MI – El Club

Thursday Postpone Immediate Live Shows Due To Positive COVID-19 Test

Thursday have postponed their upcoming shows in Reading, PA, Washington, DC, and Sayreville, NJ. The concerts were scrapped after at least one member of the band tested positive for COVID-19.

The group initially issued the following statement:

“One of the band has tested positive for covid this morning. The shows this week in DC at @930club and Sayreville @starlandnj are NOT happening. Rescheduled dates will be announced imminently.”

They later added:

“As you might know, a few of us have been stuck in quarantine and / or sick, so are not able to play shows and hang out with everyone. We’re heartbroken and full of worry about the big UHAUL truck full of tour merch; paying back flights and hotels as well as other terrifying bills intertwined with the insane cost of rapid PCR tests, never mind looking after our crew who depend on any work they can get (just like us) these days. Not only are we full of stress, we are full of mashed potatoes. So full. With these problems in mind, we thought that we would stream a ‘pop up’ encore performance of our 2020 holiday extravaganza Signals V2 on Thursday night to try and pay some bills, have us all be together (at least virtually) and give us all something good to watch (sorry to Keanu, that new Matrix was way too meta, even for us). Some of the new tour merch is for sale also. Normally we have a merch company send it out but on this occasion it will be posted by the band. Maybe we should start an Only Fans to watch the remaining healthy Thursday members packing envelopes in the back of a truck(that’s gotta be someone’s kink, right?) Steve has a very fancy dove shaped embosser, so if you get one on the back of your envelope, you know it was him. Geoff will also be live on air before the show and at points during – band members will be in the chat room during also. Whilst this isn’t exactly George Michael and Bono at Live Aid (it’s much better) we do have to say that when we asked our friends @normanbrannon , @jimmyjamesb , @frankieromustdie , @walterschreifels and @travstever if we could re-broadcast the show, they all got back instantly with a resounding YES and what could they do to help us? Our tour mates next month – @cursivetheband allowed us to use their epic set from Signals V1 and we have been absolutely overwhelmed by the messages of support we have gotten from all of YOU. We are truly part of a great scene here. V2 saved the holidays for us and our families last year and it is unfathomable to us that it could potentially save the holidays again this year. We could not love you any more. All love and well being to our friend @laurajanegrace Ticket Link in bio.”
