We both love everything Tim Burton and Disney so doing this cover has been an amazing honor! It was extremely fun to sing all the different parts together and give it our Raven Black carnival metal twist. “

Raven Black Premiere “Hear Me Cry” Video

Raven Black have premiered a new video for their new song “Hear Me Cry.” This track is from the group’s new album “The Key,” which will be released on October 2. Vocalist Raven commented:

“‘Hear Me Cry’ is about the chaotic and deeply disturbing thoughts when I once attempted suicide. The inner battle of wanting to give up and yet wanting to fight and change your own life. The personal psychosis and finally calling out for help, which ultimately saved my life. This song hopefully inspires those who struggle with suicidal thoughts to speak up and seek help. Someone is always ready to help. Suicide is not the answer. You can change your life and you can survive.”

Raven Black Premiere “Darkest Pit” Lyric Video

Raven Black have premiered a lyric video for their new song “Darkest Pit.” This track is from the group’s new album “The Key,” which will be released on October 2. Vocalist Raven had the following to say about the song, which she wrote for “one the band’s own Rejects who was struggling with a dark period in his life”:

“It reflects his personal struggle to hold onto everything meaningful in his life. His personal hell and his constant inner battle with his demons and coping with his depression and anger and trying to not give up. His only escape is to hide within a dark mosh pit surrounded by metal music. It is his release from all his pain and misery. We had the perfect match of music and lyrics to bring his escape to life in a metal song as we celebrate our new album, ‘The Key,’ and comic book, ‘We Came Across the Darkness,’ where we are struggling to escape our own hell.”

Raven Black Premiere New Song “Risen From The Ashes”

Raven Black have premiered a new song titled “Risen From The Ashes.” This track is from the band’s new album “Black,” which will be released in 2020.

Vocalist Raven commented:

“It felt fitting to release this song to start the Wisconsin Death Trip 20th Anniversary Tour. Although the song was written as part of the upcoming Black album, we were excited to debut the song as a special tribute to Wayne Static being in the afterlife but still so present in our lives.”

“Risen From The Ashes” was produced by Ulrich Wild and it continues the story from the group’s ongoing comic book series “A Dark Metal Carnival.” Here’s a description of the series:

The comic book series lays out Raven’s past, where a voodoo doctor finds a lost, scared young girl and uses his dark magic to turn her into a doll. The Doctor’s spell did not work, instead leaving Raven as a half human-half doll. Through her life with the Doctor, Raven secretly studied his magic, and eventually used it to conjure up a demon named Muppet. Muppet became Raven’s eternal protector, trapped inside of her heart. Along with the Doctor, Muppet then created a character named Stitches to seek out other looking to join their dark metal carnival world.

Raven added:

“You learn Raven was burned at the stake for practicing magic. In the upcoming issue, the foursome embarks on an adventure through hell and find their way to an enchanted underworld outside the gates of Hell. Raven has risen from the ashes and she discovers her true self, while meeting many different characters alongside Muppet, the Doctor and Stitches.”
