Slipknot’s “Knotfest Japan” Postponed To 2022

Slipknot’s “Knotfest Japan” event has been postponed once again due to the coronavirus pandemic. The festival will now be held on April 9-10, 2022 at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition in Chiba, Japan.

An official statement was shared on knotfestjapan.com:

“As a result of the ongoing situation with the coronavirus mandates in Japan and around the world, after thorough discussions with KNOTFEST organizers & Slipknot‘s concern for the safety of the fans, artists, staff and everyone involved, we regretfully announce the postponement of KNOTFEST JAPAN 2020 scheduled for January 10th 2021 and January 11th 2021 at Makuhari Messe.

We understand a second postponement is difficult news. Slipknot, their management, and our entire staff sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this has caused the fans that have been looking forward to the event.

The new show dates are as follows:

For people who wish to keep their tickets, please store your purchased tickets in a safe place as they will be honored for the rescheduled dates.

For people who wish to receive a refund, ticket refunds will be available between 10:00AM on December 2nd (Wed) 2020 to 11:59PM on January 12th (Tue) 2021.

For details please refer to the ticketing company’s procedure with whom you purchased your ticket. Please apply for your refund during the refund period, as refunds will not be made after.

Information regarding refunds for tickets by eplus and Lawson Ticket English ticket sites
Overseas customers that have ordered tickets from the Lawson Ticket and eplus English ticket sites will be sent an email (to the address registered at the time of purchase) explaining refund procedure.

Please apply for your refund during the refund period, as refunds will not be made after.

Refunds will be made to the credit card you used for your original purchase. Since the time it takes for refunds to be applied to your account can vary by company, we suggest that you check your credit card statement carefully.

Slipknot Announce Rescheduled Dates For Knotfest Japan

Slipknot have officially announced the new dates for Knotfest Japan. The event will take place on January 10-11, 2021 at the Makuhari Messe near Tokyo, Japan and the updated daily lineups can be found below:

January 10: Slipknot, Korn, Maximum The Hormone, Marilyn Manson, Coldrain, Crossfaith, Suicide Silence, Fear, And Loathing In Las Vegas, Noisemaker, Crazy N’ Sane, Praise, Mahousyoujo Ni Naritai, Paledusk, and The Sixth Lie.

January 11: Slipknot, Man With A Mission, Anthrax, BABYMETAL, Survive Said The Prophet, Mari Hamada, A Crowd Of Rebellion, The Kanmuri, The Winking Owl, Ailiph Doepa, and Band-Maid.

Slipknot Postpone Asian Tour & Knotfest Japan Due To Coronavirus

Slipknot have postponed their upcoming Asian dates due to the coronavirus. This includes Knotfest Japan and the band’s shows in Singapore, Jakarta, and Manila.

Slipknot commented:

“In light of global health concerns, Slipknot have decided to postpone their upcoming Asian tour, including Knotfest Japan. While decisions like this are not easy, the safety and well-being of the band’s fans always comes first. Furthermore in this case, the bands and artists, crew and local employees are also equally effected, and as such, this was the only responsible decision that could be made. Slipknot and Knotfest will both return to Asia very soon, and at such time that everyone can be ensured of the best possible experience possible.”

Knotfest Japan organizers added:

“As a result of the current situation in connection with the coronravirus mandates in Japan and after thorough discussions with KNOTFEST organizers & Slipknot concerning the safety of the fans, artists, staff and everyone involved, we regretfully announce the postponement of KNOTFEST JAPAN 2020 originally scheduled for March 20th 2020 and March 21st 2020 at Makuhari Messe.

We are working with Slipknot and their management team on the new dates and will provide updates and announcements on the KNOTFEST JAPAN website and socials as details are confirmed.

For customers who wish to keep their tickets, please store your purchased tickets in a safe place as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates. For customers who wish to receive a refund, please hold on to your tickets until we announced full details of the refund process.

The first three bands have been revealed for next year’s Knotfest Japan. The event will take place on March 20-21 at the Makuhari Messe near Tokyo, Japan and it will feature headlining sets from Slipknot both nights. Anthrax will also perform on the first day and Korn will perform on the second day.
