Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains) is featured on the latest episode of GibsonTV‘s “Icons” Series. The following was said about the episode:
“In the latest episode of “Icons”, Gibson TV sits down with one of the most iconic rock musicians of our generation, Jerry Cantrell to learn about his early years in Spanaway, Washington and the birth of the Seattle sound. The show takes a deep dive into his 30-plus year career in music as the guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter of Alice In Chains, and as a solo artist.”
It looks like Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains) has been working on a new solo album. He told People TV the following about the record while on the red carpet at the MusiCares Person Of The Year tribute to Aerosmith:
“I’m working on a new record myself, so, generally, when I’m in that sort of a mode, I pretty much don’t listen to anything until I’m done, so nothing creeps in there. I did a couple of shows December 7th and 6th at The Pico Union Project in L.A. with some friends, and I got to play some of my material from my solo records. When I’m with Alice, I’m with Alice, and that takes the majority of my time. This year, we’re taking a little time off, so… If you liked any of the solo work that I did or the work with Alice, I’m sure you might like some of this stuff too.”
During his December 6 show at the Pico Union Project in Los Angeles, CA, Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains) was joined onstage by Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan, etc.), Gil Sharone (ex-Marilyn Manson, etc.), James LoMenzo (ex-Megadeth, etc.), and more. You can check out fan-filmed footage from the show below. Cantrell will return to the stage at the same venue tonight (December 7).

Alice In Chains’ Jerry Cantrell made an appearance in HBO’s “Deadwood: The Movie,” which was officially released last week. He said the following about his role:
“Snuck into a shot or two in the Deadwood movie courtesy of W. Earl Brown. Standing next to Garret Dillahunt here. I am a huge fan of the show and have become good friends with Earl and Robin Weigert over the poker table and other shenanigans. I gave Ian McShane a vinyl copy of Rainier Fog that day too. Was fun to be in the background watching the professionals do their thing. Check it out cocksuckers ! @wearlbrown @robinweigert @garretdillahunt #deadwood themovie #hbo #rainierfog”
