Aborted Premiere New Song “Drag Me To Hell” Featuring Filip Danielsson (Humanity’s Last Breath)

Aborted have premiered a new song titled “Drag Me To Hell.” The track, which features Filip Danielsson (Humanity’s Last Breath), is from the band’s new album “ManiaCult,” which will be released on September 10. The group commented:

“Alright alright! It’s good old Jack Burton here, and he’s got one thing to say: ‘get ready for the boom stick!’ We have such sights to show you—or rather sounds to play you—with the next single from ‘ManiaCult‘, ‘Drag Me to Hell‘. Trust me, you’re going to want to click that button and spread it before Wayland comes for YOU. We also welcome Filip Danielsson of Humanity’s Last Breath to the ‘ManiaCult‘ via a killer guest spot. Considering Wayland’s goal is the end of humanity, we’d say Filip’s support is a great harbinger…”

Aborted Offer Look At Their Limited Edition “ManiaCult” Action Figure

Aborted have shared a photo of a limited edition action figure that will be included with select pre-order bundles for their new album “ManiaCult“ (out September 10). The band said the following about that:

“Meet your ManiaCult leader. Wayland Thurston may have control over you (and demand human sacrifices), but you can take back a bit of power by holding a small version of him in your hands. Hell, you could crush him in action figure form, but we wouldn’t recommend it because these are LIMITED. Only 100 of the “dark” version will be for sale online, and the normal one isn’t getting mass-produced, either. Who’s grabbing one when pre-orders go live? Join our mailing list to get updates on when it goes on sale, so you don’t miss out!”

Aborted To Release New Album “ManiaCult” In September

Aborted have announced that their new album “ManiaCult“ will be released on September 10. The cover art for the effort was revealed earlier today via Heaviest Of Art:

The band commented:

“Today is the day, ya bunch of crazies!

We’ve been teasing about it before, but here it is: we are proud to announce our next full length record titled ‘ManiaCult’! This beast is going to be released September 10th on Century Media worldwide and we couldn’t be more proud about the horrific tunes and disgusting sounds we have prepared for you. Prepare for heavy, prepare for blasts, prepare for hell!

On that note, enjoy the amazing cover art done by Par Olofsson by following the link below, which also features an interview with Sven, Stefano and Par himself discussing the artwork, concept and the process to put this together.

Like good ole Jack Burton always says in a time like this: ‘have ya paid your dues? Yes sir, the cheque is in the mail!'”

Thanks to covid 19-21 we have to reschedule this beast of an extreme metal tour to Feb/March 22. But fear not! We will release our album before that and we have some truly amazing things set up for the tour and record. All bands are part of the line up, anyone who got tickets they remain valid and be sure not to miss out on the party! After all, it’s not a party until you’ve seen Juliens ‘one minute 24 seconds’ naked feet! See you in the pit, you rascals!”

Aborted Begin Recording New Album

Aborted have officially started the recording process for their new album. So far, the drums have already been completed.

The band commented:

“So, as you might have guessed, we have been working hard on a new record, and started the recording process a little while ago. Ken finished drums with Zack Ohren at @sharkbitestudios a little while ago and here’s what he has to say about it:

When working on this record, we actually had the plan to jam with the band for a good week before tracking to really flesh out the songs. Well… we all know what happened last year, so we were left with the choice to wait or to try something different.

I think all of us wanted to avoid the thought of ‘the pandemic is going to lessen our album quality’. Luckily for us, we’ve written music apart from each other for over 10 years now, so the writing process wasn’t too much of a change; recording, however, was a bit different.

As far as drums go, finding a studio, room, and an engineer who can work intense death metal is a must for us. We were fortunate enough to work with Zach Ohren and find a way to work around the pandemic to actually get a record that I think everyone will be insanely stoked on. I for one was very excited to finally get a chance to work with Zach, since I’ve lived in California my whole life and known of Zach’s work for half of it.

Trust me when I tell you that not only did we pull off the covid record, but we managed to pull off one of our strongest records to date and I can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

Aborted commented:

“Ok you dirty ghouls and terror maniacs! The time has come, we’ve all had enough time sitting at home, eating thousands of pizzas and gaining tremendous amounts of weight… and well, eventually, we wrote an album! So here is some good news to make your 2021 hopefully slightly less of a giant smelly turd than 2020:

1. We will be entering the studio, for said album; the writing is done and we are beyond stoked about it. More on that later.
2. HELL OVER EUROPE TIME! That’s right!! Your favorite and most infamous extreme metal tour returns (or well, at least we hope it’s either of those).

Added to the mix to spice up your life are: The Acacia Strain (they hate stuff maybe as much as we do, so we are looking forward to bitch like a bunch of old farts on a daily basis). Once again, we team up with our brothers from (possibly) other mothers Benighted (No promises if Julien will wear footwear, good thing we all have masks, right?). Stefano clearly has some fat to burn, so we figured he should play twice a night and thus our good friends Hideous Divinity have been added as well for a good dose of Mario blasts!”

Aborted Lost About $60,000 Due To Spring Tour Cancellation

As previously reported, Aborted’s spring North American tour with Napalm Death and more was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the band’s vocalist Sven de Caluwé has revealed the significant losses that they have faced due to the cancellation.

Sven said the following on The MetalSucks Quarantinecast:

“What really sucked is that we made all these expenses for the Napalm Death tour which we were very excited to do, of course. Of course, this shit happens and now we’ve got a quite hefty bill to pay so hopefully that gets taken care of and we can move on. Obviously expenses are higher when you’re on the road, but you get revenue from it too. Now we have zero revenue and we had our merch bill, which was roughly a little bit less than $40,000.

We knew some stuff [related to the coronavirus] was going on so preemptively with IndieMerch we decided to wait until the last possible moment to print the tour shirts. So fortunately there was nothing with tour dates [printed on it]. But all the other merch was printed and there’s quite a bit of it, so that totals up to about $40,000.

Then, we already had a deposit on the bus, we had all our flights booked. We paid I think a little over $10,000 on U.S. work visas. So all together we’re looking at losing $60,000.

The shittiest part is the work visas, because that’s $10,000. We asked if we could get a refund or an extension of the period because it’s $10,000 for one year and… nope.”

He went on to say that the band won’t resort to crowdfunding:

“We have all the merch available on IndieMerch, so if people want to buy some stuff that they had planned on buying on tour, please go ahead: it’ll help us a lot. At the same time, I don’t think it’s my place to tell people where to spend their money. There’s a lot of people being laid off, waiting for checks to come in, and it’s tough for everybody. Its more important to me to know that fans be safe, make sure you’re OK, and everything will get back to normal.

We’re not going to do a GoFundMe or ask for money because I don’t think now is the time to do so. We’ll do what we can to be OK. Support us in any way you can if you have some spare income, buy a shirt, but I’m not going to ask for money.”

Napalm Death Officially Comment On Spring Tour Cancellation

Napalm Death have officially commented on the cancellation of their spring tour with Aborted, Tombs, and WVRM. This news comes after Aborted previously confirmed that the trek was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Napalm Death said the following:

“Hi everybody,

We have been having a few enquiries via the Napalm Death channels about ticket refunds for currently scheduled gig dates – specifically in North America. There’s nothing we can directly do in terms of being able to action those, but at the same time of course we’re not a band to turn a blind eye when people need to know.

Basically we have made enquiries with our North American booker and he assures us that all currently scheduled gigs have been cancelled and he has instructed local promoters to issue refunds. What this effectively means is that you should apply for a refund at “point of purchase” – in other words, whichever channel you employed to buy any tickets. Hope this clarifies things.

Please stay safe because health and safety trumps all (no pun intended).

Love

Napalm Death“

Aborted Confirm Cancellation Of Spring Tour With Napalm Death, Etc.

It looks like Napalm Death‘s spring tour with Aborted, Tombs, and WVRM has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Aborted confirmed the news on Facebook.

Aborted commented:

“Hey everyone,

We wanted to give you guys some good news in these dark days but unfortunately seems like nothing is spared from the Covid-19 outbreak. Due to all the measures in place (which everyone should follow, mind you), we have to cancel our upcoming tour with Napalm death, Tombs and WVRM.

We feel that we as artists have to do our part as well in urging people to help flatten the curve and take part in social distancing for a while. In the meanwhile this leaves us, along with many others, with a huge financial deficit as our tour merch was already printed, plus work visas; flights; deposits etc were already paid for and it puts us in a very sh***y situation.

We won’t ever ask for a gofundme or anything from anyone. But if you planned on coming to one of the shows and get some merch and you want to support us if possible at all, you can now grab out tour merch from indiemerch and help us resolve this financial catastrophe.

Now is the time to support the bands you love, support them by streaming their music; buying the records and merch as this will be the sole source of income for many of us for the unforeseeable future.

In the meantime we will be working on a tour to replace this one with when possible and write the next album while we are stuck at home like everyone else. Hoping all of you are safe and doing well, thank you in advance and take care of your loved ones.

Sven, Stefano, Ken, Ian & Harrison
