Cognitive Premiere “ENIAC” Video

Cognitive have premiered a new video for their new song “ENIAC.” This track is from the band’s new album “Malevolent Thoughts Of A Hastened Extinction,” which will be released on July 16. Guitarist Rob Wharton commented:

“‘ENIAC‘ was one of the first songs written for the new album, and when it was completed we instantly were like this has to be a single. The name ‘ENIAC‘ comes from the first computer, and musically this song we felt has a lot of new elements that are showcased on this album, from some more tech-laden grooves, big chord sections, a ripper solo, and some catchy vocal patterns. And Zen-Beast did an amazing job of making this video come to life to put a cherry on top. We hope you enjoy!”

“Malevolent Thoughts Of A Hastened Extinction” Track Listing:

01. “ENIAC”
02. “The Maw”
03. “Arterial Red”
04. “From The Depths”
05. “Oroborous”
06. “To Feed The Worms”
07. “Malevolent Thoughts”
08. “Tearing Tendon From Bone”
09. “Destitute”
10. “Of A Hastened Extinction”

Cognitive Premiere “Fragmented Perception” Music Video

Cognitive have premiered a new video for their song “Fragmented Perception.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Matricide.”

Shane Jost commented:

“I wrote ‘Fragmented Perception’ when I was in a dark place mentally. I felt trapped in a cycle of mundanity. Wake up, go to a job I despise, come home with no energy left to do things I actually care about. That stagnant life style eventually boiled over into a midnight surge of adrenaline and panic. I wrote the lyrics to the song in that frenzied state, while my mind was still racing.

It was a pleasure working with Eric Dicarlo (Square Up Studios) and watching Jon Rainey (Discovery Channel’s It Takes a Thief) act out the story part of the video. We wanted to go for a Groundhog Day vibe with the story while the performance video lighting was meant to be dark in the video, to represent the hard, dark times we all face going through life. It’s not easy or pretty but it’s very real.”

We have been a fan of Cryptodira for a long time, and their brand of death/ and math metal is inspiring to say the least. We took Hath out last January prior to them releasing their critically acclaimed album ‘Of Rot and Ruin‘, so we’re thrilled to bring them out now that everyone knows who they are. We’re excited to hit some new cities and just thankful to be on the road again. Keep an eye out for us being in a town near you!”

We have put together this memorial show for Erik with the help from our friends at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, NY and we’re very happy to have Internal Bleeding, Pyrexia, Cognitive, and Afterbirth as part of this special evening. All of the proceeds from this show will go towards Erik’s daughter’s Bella’s fund.

Internal Bleeding added:

“Erik Lindmark was wholly committed to his bands, his label, and most of all his family. And we think there’s no better way to honor his towering legacy than by playing a raging show in his honor. We’re sure he’ll be enjoying it from wherever he is, and we hope that any money we can help raise will give his family some comfort in this difficult time.”
