Saint Asonia (Three Days Grace, Staind, etc.) have released a new cover of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid.” You can check that out below. The band said the following about the single:
“We actually recorded this cover years ago while we were recording the ‘Extrovert’ EP. It didn’t end up on the EP, and when we recently lost Ozzy, we all talked, and decided now was the time to put it out there. It’s just our own little tribute to the band and the man who changed the landscape of heavy music forever, and opened the door for bands like us. We love you Oz.”
Queens Of The Stone Age were the musical guests during tonight’s (October 9) episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” You can see footage of the band performing a medley of “Running Joke” and “Paper Machete” on that program below. Notably, the set was stripped down in the style of their “Alive In The Catacombs” release.
During Rock Feed’s DJ set at the 2025 Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California, My Darkest Days’ Matt Walst and Reid Henry sang “Porn Star Dancing” for the first time in 12 years. You can see some fan-filmed footage of that below:
Greyhaven have shared a new video for their new songs “Prelude: Evening Star” and “Shatter And Burst.” Those tracks are from their newly released album “Keep It Quiet.”
The Rasmus have teamed up with Theory Of A Deadman’s Tyler Connolly for a new version of their song “Creatures Of Chaos.” You can check that out below. The original track appears on the band’s latest album “Weirdo.”
Frontman Lauri Ylönen commented:
“Tyler is an amazing singer and he added a new dimension to the song. This song is one of our best from the new album and it’s so cool that it gets some spotlight now.”
Connolly continued:
“I got asked to guest sing on this Rasmus song and once I heard it, I was like, ‘Heck Yeah’! Loved the track and love the band! Really enjoyed the back-and-forth verses between us, and it truly rocks! Now I got to get myself to Finland!!!”
Ylönen also added:
“[The single is a] global shout out and an invitation to all misfits and anyone out there who’s ever felt like an outsider to join us! It was one of the first songs, and that’s kind of how the album title came about.
It’s also about accepting people as they are, which in this world is getting much harder for people to do. For me, it’s more personal: I sing like I could have been a soldier, but I’m afraid of guns. I could have been this or that, but I wasn’t strong enough to be those. My job is to do this. And I’m singing to one fan in the front row, giving her or him strength to carry on. It’s another kind of hero.
[It’s] also about the pressure of social media. People feel like by 25 they need to have money, investments, be somebody. A lot of people are scared of growing up. I’ve always gained strength from being the underdog, and I love that. It keeps me going.”
Yellowcard have shared a lyric video for their new song “You Broke MeToo.” The track, which features Avril Lavigne, is from the band’s new album, “Better Days,” which will be released tomorrow (October 10).
Lavigne commented:
“My friend Travis Barker called me up to say he was producing the new Yellowcard album and I really liked what I heard. When he played me ‘You Broke Me Too’ I liked how it can be an anthem people can relate to when finding hope after a relationship.”
William Ryan Key added:
“As with so many unbelievable things happening for the band these days, having Avril Lavigne be part of our new music is incredible. Her vocal performance combined with the classic Yellowcard feel of this song is truly a sonic time machine.”
Armor For Sleep have premiered a new video for their new song “The Outer Ring.” This track is from the band’s new album, “There Is No Memory,” which will be released on November 7. Frontman Ben Jorgensen commented:
“This song is about dealing with one such betrayal and just wanting to give up and vanish into the deepest, darkest pits of the universe. I wanted to start the album in the same way I started this journey of sorting through the things I have been through, which at the beginning was full of anger and messiness and void of meaningful answers.”
Slayer are celebrating the 35th anniversary of “Seasons In The Abyss” with a new track by track video series. You can check that out HERE. The band commented:
“Slaytanic Verses presents a special track-by-track video feature that sees Tom Araya and Kerry King digging deep into the backstories behind all 10 of the tracks on Slayer’s Seasons In the Abyss album.”
Thou have shared their cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Suck.” You can check that out below. The track is taken from Magnetic Eye Records’ new tribute album “The Best Of NIN Redux.” That compilation will be released on November 28 alongside a tribute to “The Downward Spiral” called “The Downward Spiral Redux.” Instead of commenting, Thou shared a quote from Romanian philosopher Emil Cioran:
“True confessions are written with tears only. But my tears would drown the world, as my inner fire would reduce it to ashes.”
Omnivide have shared an animated video for the title track of their new EP “Arise.” That effort will be released on October 10. The band said the following about the single:
“The second single, ‘Arise‘ is the concluding track of the EP, and it fits that role well, being a longer, more progressive track. This song focuses on the more orchestral and melodic sides of our style while still maintaining a degree of technicality and intensity throughout the song. It also has the most clean vocals of any song and is overall the more emotional track, making it a fitting conclusion to the EP as it ends on a very high note in the outro of the song. We chose to feature it as a single because it displays our more progressive and melodic sides, in contrast with ‘Void’ that is more brutal and in-your-face.”
