Rise Against Cancel Immediate Live Dates After Members Of Their Touring Party Test Positive For COVID-19

Rise Against have cancelled their immediate live dates due to some positive COVID-19 cases within their touring party. The band issued the following statement:

“Some unfortunate news… We have just learned of some positive COVID-19 cases in our touring party. As a result, we’re going to have to cancel tonight’s show in Edmonton, as well as tuesday’s show in Seattle. Refunds for both shows will be available at point of purchase. For the shows we missed this run, we’ll look to get back to you all as soon as we can. Stay safe out there, and we hope to see you soon.”

Rise Against Share New Interactive Video For “Talking To Ourselves”

Rise Against have shared a new video for their song “Talking To Ourselves.” The interactive clip “features evolving and cryptic transmissions for fans to discover via QR codes.” The track appears on the band’s latest album “Nowhere Generation.” Director Ryan Valdez commented:

“The intention behind the video was to yet again shed light on us as a society and to expand on the feeling that we have progressively lost our humanity. In our video, the QR codes represent little windows to the world outside of our bubbles, only to be dismissed and swiped onto the next event. It feels so bleak. Heartbreaking headlines are so disposable and just another hashtag buried in the news of celebrity gossip and trending dances. As we watch and Tim sings ‘Are we talking to ourselves,’ I hope it reminds us to be human, listen, speak up and do better.”

Rise Against Share New Performance Video For “Talking To Ourselves”

Rise Against have shared a new performance video for their song “Talking To Ourselves.” The clip was released to promote the band’s new live EP “Nowhere Sessions,” which will be available on November 12. Tim McIlrath commented:

“‘Talking To Ourselves’ is about watching yourself and the people around you fall into complacency. Despite your best efforts to get people’s attention, it feels like no one is listening. Sometimes we feel the urge to do something crazy, to disturb the peace, to jostle the world around us awake. Our actions might be seen as out of the ordinary, but they are acts of desperation when all else failed.”

Rise Against To Release New Live EP “Nowhere Sessions”

Rise Against will be releasing a new live EP titled “Nowhere Sessions” on November 12. The cover art and track listing for that effort can be found below:

“Nowhere Sessions” Track Listing:

01. “Talking To Ourselves”
02. “Broken Dreams, Inc.”
03. “Fortunate Son” (Creedence Clearwater Revival cover)
04. “Nowhere Generations”
05. “Hybrid Moments” (Misfits cover)
06. “Savior”

Tim McIlrath said the following about the EP:

“Our songs take on so many different patinas when we play them live or strip them down. In some ways, every time we play it is different. It was fun to document one of those sessions and we’re excited to share it with the world.”

The effort’s first single, a live version of “Talking To Ourselves,” can be found below. McIlrath added the following about that song:

“‘Talking To Ourselves’ is about watching yourself and the people around you fall into complacency. Despite your best efforts to get people’s attention, it feels like no one is listening. Sometimes we feel the urge to do something crazy, to disturb the peace, to jostle the world around us awake. Our actions might be seen as out of the ordinary, but they are acts of desperation when all else failed.”

Rise Against Premiere “Talking To Ourselves” Video, Band To Be Honored With “Rise Against Day” In Chicago

Rise Against have premiered a new video for their new song “Talking To Ourselves.” This track is from their new album “Nowhere Generation,” which will be released on June 4.

Tim McIlrath commented:

“I’ve never thought of our songs as ‘brave’ or ‘bold.’ I think of them as just common sense. When you feel that no one is listening to you, you tend to talk louder, and when you feel no one notices you, you start doing things to get their attention. That’s what this song is about.”

In other news, the band will also be honored with an official “Rise Against Day” in Chicago, IL on June 4. The proclamation was made by Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot. Furthermore, the group will be signing copies of “Nowhere Generation” at Reckless Records in Wicker Park on that day as well. They said the following about that:

“We’re taking over Reckless Records in Wicker Park to celebrate the release of Nowhere Generation with an Album Release Signing Event. The 1st 50 people to purchase the record will be treated to a special acoustic set from Tim. The 1st 250 in line will receive a limited edition pin set and poster. Everyone will have a chance to get their record signed by the band. Get there early and we’ll see you next week!”

Rise Against Premiere “The Numbers” Video

Rise Against have premiered a new video for their new song “The Numbers.” The band worked on the clip with American activist collective Indecline. The track is from their new album “Nowhere Generation,” which will be released on June 4. Indecline commented:

“‘The Numbers’ has given our collective another opportunity not only to work with a band we’ve looked to for inspiration since their early records, but also a chance to create the kind of strong visual content that aims to inspire and educate. Beyond simply showcasing global protest movements, this video is to serve as a reminder that we are all living in a golden age of resistance and need to use our privileges to commit ourselves to wholeheartedly pulling the rope in the opposite direction. Or, to put it more bluntly, don’t be like your parents’ generation. Give a fuck and prove it.”
