Rise Against Premiere “Talking To Ourselves” Video, Band To Be Honored With “Rise Against Day” In Chicago

Rise Against have premiered a new video for their new song “Talking To Ourselves.” This track is from their new album “Nowhere Generation,” which will be released on June 4.

Tim McIlrath commented:

“I’ve never thought of our songs as ‘brave’ or ‘bold.’ I think of them as just common sense. When you feel that no one is listening to you, you tend to talk louder, and when you feel no one notices you, you start doing things to get their attention. That’s what this song is about.”

In other news, the band will also be honored with an official “Rise Against Day” in Chicago, IL on June 4. The proclamation was made by Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot. Furthermore, the group will be signing copies of “Nowhere Generation” at Reckless Records in Wicker Park on that day as well. They said the following about that:

“We’re taking over Reckless Records in Wicker Park to celebrate the release of Nowhere Generation with an Album Release Signing Event. The 1st 50 people to purchase the record will be treated to a special acoustic set from Tim. The 1st 250 in line will receive a limited edition pin set and poster. Everyone will have a chance to get their record signed by the band. Get there early and we’ll see you next week!”

Rise Against Premiere “The Numbers” Video

Rise Against have premiered a new video for their new song “The Numbers.” The band worked on the clip with American activist collective Indecline. The track is from their new album “Nowhere Generation,” which will be released on June 4. Indecline commented:

“‘The Numbers’ has given our collective another opportunity not only to work with a band we’ve looked to for inspiration since their early records, but also a chance to create the kind of strong visual content that aims to inspire and educate. Beyond simply showcasing global protest movements, this video is to serve as a reminder that we are all living in a golden age of resistance and need to use our privileges to commit ourselves to wholeheartedly pulling the rope in the opposite direction. Or, to put it more bluntly, don’t be like your parents’ generation. Give a fuck and prove it.”

Rise Against To Release New Album “Nowhere Generation” In June, Premiere Video For The Title Track

“Nowhere Generation” Track Listing:

01. “The Numbers”
02. “Sudden Urge”
03. “Nowhere Generation”
04. “Talking To Ourselves”
05. “Broken Dreams, Inc”
06. “Forfeit”
07. “Monarch”
08. “Sounds Like”
09. “Sooner Or Later”
10. “Middle Of A Dream”
11. “Rules Of Play”

Tim McIlrath commented:

“Today there is the promise of the American Dream, and then there is the reality of the American Dream. America’s ‘historical norm’ that the next generation will be better off than the one that came before has been diminished by an era of mass social, economic, and political instability and a sell-out of the Middle Class. The brass ring that was promised by hard work and dedication no longer exists for everyone. When the privileged climb the ladder of success and then burn it from the top, disruption becomes the only answer.”

Joe Principe added:

“When I was growing up. I listened to bands like 7 Seconds, Bad Brains, Minor Threat and Bad Religion. All of those bands’ music had a sense of hope with the world, a truly positive global view of what life can be. From the beginning, we’ve wanted Rise Against to have that same positivity, to have our music be an inspiration for people to bring about change in their own lives, they just have to put forth the effort and speak up.”

“We didn’t really know what to expect, but were all blown away by it. I was super impressed by the way they made the song their own. They found melodies in it that I didn’t anticipate, and they found some of the bone, the skeleton, and rearranged it; it worked and was really cool.”

“One word, ‘disruption.’ You have to put power into the hands of the people, not business, you have to value people and community over profit. You can’t have a shareholder-run country or a shareholder-run world, a world that values profit above all else, because profit above all else can result in dangerous repercussions for humankind.”
