P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval commented:

“We’ve been touring and working hard for almost 30 years now. It’s all we know. This past year has really made me realize how much I love what I do and how much I appreciate that I am still able to make music and play live for all of those who are still listening. Thank you to all of you who still love live music and can’t wait to be a part of the P.O.D. experience. We can’t wait to see all of your beautiful faces out on the road.”

Guitarist Marcos Curiel added:

“It’s been way too long. We are beyond excited to get back to the stage — where we provide the rock and you provide the roll. From familiar faces to new ones, let’s get back to what we’ve all been waiting for. We are ready as a band to create new memories with you all. Let’s do this! Peace, love, light, and rock ‘n’ roll.”

In other news, the band will also be releasing a 20th anniversary edition of “Satellite” on September 3 (vinyl out October 8). That version of the effort will come with 27 tracks including remastered versions of the original songs, remixes, rarities, and four previously unreleased demos. You can stream a semi-acoustic version of “Alive” from the album below:

Sonny Sandoval commented:

“As we navigate through the new norm of live performances, it’s a great feeling knowing we can still somehow connect with our fans and friends who have supported us all of these years. The idea of fans around the world online together watching us is pretty amazing!”

Traa Daniels added:

“As we get to share almost 30 years of music with our friends and family who have made this all possible, we are looking forward to sharing this moment with you all. One love!”

The group will also be hosting a pre-event Q&A session on April 13 live from their rehearsal space. The session will be moderated by John Rubeli, the Atlantic Records A&R rep who signed P.O.D. in 1998.

P.O.D. Cancel European Tour

P.O.D. have cancelled their European tour. The band pulled the plug on the trek due to safety guidelines, travel restrictions, and festival cancellations related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The group commented:

“Family –

There is so much optimism in the world today that soon we’ll all see each other again at a P.O.D. concert. We can’t begin to tell you how much we miss playing our music and sharing our songs with you.

Unfortunately, given a number of factors, including local safety guidelines, travel restrictions, and festival cancellations, we must also do what is necessary and announce that we are cancelling the Circles European Tour.

We’ve been assured that you will receive a full refund at your original point of purchase.

The band has been using the downtime on so many projects and we know that we’ll all be together again soon.

Better days ahead!

– Sonny, Marcos, Traa, Wuv”

P.O.D.’s Sonny Sandoval Says Passport Issues Prevented Drummer Wuv Bernardo From Joining The Band On Their European Tour

P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval has revealed that drummer Wuv Bernardo’s absence from the band’s European tour was related to passport issues. This news comes after Bernardo previously said he stayed home to “take care of some business.” Sandoval told Moshpit Passion the following:

“It’s all passport stuff. It’s a little difficult, all the red tape and all that stuff. So he couldn’t get it in time, but he’s working on it now. And hopefully with this run [doing] so well that promoters will bring us back sooner than later.”
