Kataklysm & Hypocrisy Announce European Tour

Kataklysm and Hypocrisy have announced a European co-headlining tour. Kataklysm will be touring in support of their new album “Meditations,” which is set to be released on June 1.

Kataklysm’s Maurizio Iacono commented:

“It’s been in talks for over two years and finally both Kataklysm and our brothers in Hypocrisy can make the schedule work to join forces once more. It’s been almost 15 years since we toured together and the last time we did the tours became instant classics. It’s that time again folks… Kataklysm and Hypocrisy team up once more for a world tour beginning with Europe this fall. To make things even greater, our record label Nuclear Blast has come on board and baptized the tour ‘Death…Is Just The Beginning’, a homage to the old classic compilations that made so many fans discover both bands back in the day. This will mark the return of this classic compilation with this tour and maybe give other artists the chance to get discovered like we did. Do not miss this tour, you only get one chance!”

Hypocrisy’s Peter Tägtgren added:

“I hope that you are just as excited as we are, because we are very happy to announce that we are finally warming up the Hypocrisy engine again and that we will be back on the road in fall! We will be touring Europe together with our friends in Kataklysm! The tour will be an overview of the chaos and confusion created by Hypocrisy over the years. See you out there!”

“‘Guillotine’ is a powerful track that holds some of Kataklysm’s most important traits: fierce and fast riffing, melodic accents and groove-laden power punches to the gut. We are focused, determined and dedicated.”

“Meditations” Track Listing:

01. “Guillotine”
02. “Outsider”
03. “The Last Breath I’ll Take Is Yours”
04. “Narcissist”
05. “Born To Kill And Destined To Die”
06. “In Limbic Resonance”
07. “And Then I Saw Blood”
08. “What Doesn’t Break Doesn’t Heal”
09. “Bend The Arc, Cut The Cord”
10. “Achilles Heel”

Frontman Maurizio Iacono commented:

“This is a very personal album to me with old wounds being revisited – I felt a big urge to pour my soul into this release. The boys and I were isolated under the same roof during the writing process, just like we did in the early days…with no worries except having fun, being honest and delivering a serious album that represents us today but respects our past. Our new story is coming and we are eager to share it with you.”

Kataklysm Recruit Jay Ruston For New Album “Meditations”

Kataklysm have revealed that they have recruited Jay Ruston to mix and master their new album, “Meditations“. That effort will be released in April.

JF Dagenais commented:

“This album has so much to offer that we decided to search for someone outside the box for it. Someone who comes with a fresh outlook and hasn’t work with extreme or death metal bands. We wanted someone with a more organic feel but at the same time can pound a mix into your chest with the power and definition it deserves.

When Jay accepted to work with us, we knew he would bring just that! So far, the first mixes coming in are incredible. We will be turning some heads on this album folks. That’s all I can say for now, cant wait!”

Kataklysm Re-Sign With Nuclear Blast Records, Plan To Release New Album “Meditations”

Kataklysm have re-signed with Nuclear Blast Records. With this news, the band also released a trailer for their new album “Meditations,” which is expected to be released through the label in April.

Maurizio Iacono said the following:

“It’s hard to believe so many years have passed. It all feels like yesterday we released our first album, Sorcery. Today, we stand here a humbled band with lots to be thankful for, one of those deserving of our gratitude is our label Nuclear Blast and the people who work there. They have always stood behind Kataklysm from the day they discovered us as teenagers, fast forward 25 years to their current staff who are just discovering us.

We now re-sign with our home label for the 5th time and stand on top of our game together. There is no better way to celebrate this moment but by releasing a new album. We have secretly been preparing and working throughout the entire year -, similar to the way we wrote our classics ‘In The Arms Of Devastation‘, ‘Shadows & Dust‘ and ‘Serenity In Fire‘ – using the best technology available: a rehearsal room, garages and our basements. Just like we did when we first started, four guys with a passion for metal, instruments and no outside world to influence us – only now with way more experience.

We believe we created one of our strongest and most honest album to date. You will be the judge in 2018 like it should be. Our words don’t matter but know this, we are coming out guns blazing in 2018!”
