Imonolith Premiere “The Lesson” Music Video

Imonolith (Threat Signal, ex-Devin Townsend Project, etc.) have premiered a new video for their new song “The Lesson.” This track is from their new album “Progressions,” which will be released on May 20. Drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen commented:

“‘The Lesson‘ is the 2nd song Jon Howard and I wrote for the Progressions album. Jon came up with the intro of the song and sent it to me. From the first moment I heard the intro, I was inspired and knew this was going to be a progression in song writing for Imonolith. The end result turned out amazing, hence the reason it’s going to be our main single and video release for the album. ‘The Lesson’ is a deep song musically and lyrically. It’s heavy in parts, and entrancing in others. It’s a journey to listen to. The lyrics are about a personal battle with empathy and being overly empathetic to a fault. We’re stoked on how this song turned out and can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

“Today we’re announcing our 1st confirmed tour for our upcoming album, ‘Progressions’. The Tour will take place in Europe/UK. It starts in the UK on January 25th, 2023 and ends in Germany on March 5th, 2023.

Along with this new tour announcement comes the unfortunate news of us having to cancel our ’State of Being’ European/UK Tour scheduled to start on April 2nd, 2022.

With the current Covid restrictions and quarantine mandates not yet 100% standardized throughout Europe along with the uncertainty between Russia and the Ukraine, it has been decided that Imonolith has no choice but to cancel our ‘State of Being’ European Tour. These dates will be moved to our 1st European/UK Tour of the ‘Progressions’ Tour Cycle.

All tickets from the ‘State of Being’ tour REMAIN VALID at these new 2023 shows.

Ticket links coming soon.

In the end, the health, safety and wellbeing of our fans, the band and our crew is our number one priority. We are looking forward to finally hitting the road as it seems there is a light at the end of the Covid Tunnel now. Some more tour dates are being worked on now for later in 2022, stay posted. Until then, take care and we deeply apologize for any inconvenience.”

Drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen also had the following to say about “Progressions”:

“Imonolith‘s new album ‘Progressions‘ started out as a 5 song EP, and then grew into a full albums worth of material. The band’s sound has progressed in many ways, and I thought the name ‘Progressions‘ suited the message we’re trying to convey with this album. This isn’t your typical album though.

The idea behind this album is to show how the band has progressed from our early Demo days in 2015 – 2018 up to our current sound in 2022. We’ve become more versatile and, at times, more progressive in playing style, songwriting and musical direction. To put it simply, ‘Progressions‘ covers the musical history of who Imonolith was up to what we’ve become today.”

Imonolith Share “The Reign” Remix Featuring Meshuggah’s Jens Kidman

Imonolith (Threat Signal, etc.) have released Jason Van Poederooyen’s remix of their song “The Reign.” This track features Meshuggah’s Jens Kidman and it will appear on the band’s upcoming EP “Progressions.”

Drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen (ex-Devin Townsend Project, etc.) commented:

“We decided to take one of our most popular songs, ‘The Reign‘ from our debut album, ‘State Of Being‘, and do a remix of it as part of our upcoming Progressions EP, being released in March 2022.

We saw the potential of how an industrial-type remix could sound and we felt this song deserved to be a standalone single. ‘The Reign,/b>’ features guest vocals by the mighty, Jens Kidman from Meshuggah. He absolutely killed it on his performance and that is yet another big reason why we felt this song deserved its own release as a revamped single.”

He also added:

“The song is about how modern society tries to influence you and/or tells you how to live your life, when truly you should always do what you love and love what you do, not what others want. As for the production, Jason ‘JVP’ Van Poederooyen did a phenomenal job with the remix. It’s massive sounding and has a cool industrial twist to it. We’re all pumped on how this remix turned out!”

Imonolith Release Cover Of Björk‘s “Army Of Me”

Imonolith (Threat Signal, ex-Devin Townsend Project, etc.) have released a new cover of Björk‘s “Army Of Me.” This track is expected to appear on the band’s new EP “Progressions.” Ryan Van Poederooyen commented:

“Imonolith are excited to release our version of the classic Björk hit, ‘Army Of Me‘. I had an idea of how to cover the song back in 2011 and demoed it with a past project but never released it. I brought up this version to everyone in Imonolith, they dug it, so we re-recorded it with a few new twists. It’s basically a heavier version of the original song with some big modern day production. Jon did an incredible job paying respect to Björk’s vocal melodies. Musically, the chorus and a few other parts of the song get injected with some new energised patterns. We’re stoked on how it turned out and can’t wait for everyone to hear what we did with this classic song.”

Imonolith Premiere Lyric Video For New Song “Angevil”

Imonolith (Threat Signal, ex-The Devin Townsend Project, etc.) have premiered a lyric video for their new song “Angevil.“ This track is from the band’s upcoming EP “Progressions.“ Ryan Van Poederooyen commented:

“‘Angevil‘ is an aggressive, hard hitting song from Imonolith’s upcoming 2021 EP, ‘Progressions‘. Musically, the song shows a more progressive evolution of the bands songwriting since the release of our debut album, ‘State of Being‘. Lyrically, ‘Angevil‘ is about people who want to portray themselves as good willed, honest people but in all reality their negativity, their egos and lies show their true colours. In short, they want to be angelic but the more negative, dishonourable side always prevails. Hence the song title, ‘Angevil‘.”

Imonolith To Release New Single This Month

Imonolith (Threat Signal, ex-Devin Townsend Project, etc.) will be releasing a new single titled “Angevil“ on May 28. The band confirmed the news in the below tweet:

Imonolith (Threat Signal, Ex-The Devin Townsend Project, Etc.) Premiere New Song “Becoming The Enemy” Feat. Avatar’s Johannes Eckerström

Imonolith (Threat Signal, ex-The Devin Townsend Project, etc.) have premiered a lyric video for their new song “Becoming The Enemy.” This track features Avatar’s Johannes Eckerström and it will appear on the band’s new album “State Of Being,” which is set to be released on March 27.

Drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen commented:

“‘Becoming The Enemy‘ is a song about becoming your own worst enemy. All of us have done it at some point of our lives. The point of the song lyrically is to learn from your mistakes instead of repeating them over and over.”

He also added the following about the lyric video:

“We continue the theme we started in ‘Instinct‘. The theme of our album ‘State of Being‘ is about how people deal with various states of being throughout their lives. We thought having ‘The Sickness‘ appear in a couple videos would help tie everything together and tell a visual story to go along with the album as a whole.”
