Byron Stroud (Ex-Strapping Young Lad) Exits Imonolith, Band Confirms Release Date For Debut Album

Imonolith have parted ways with bassist Byron Stroud (ex-Strapping Young Lad). Scott Whalen (ex-Econoline Crush) has been recruited as his replacement. With this news, the group have also shared a teaser for their new album “State Of Being,” which is now set to be released on March 27.

The band commented:

“Big news from Imonolith: Read all below for several announcements

We are excited to let you know that on January 10th, 2020 our new single and video will premiere, along with the launch of the Pre-Order for our debut album ‘State of Being’. The album will be released on March 27th, 2020. You can hear parts of some of the songs from the album in the Teaser Video Clip below!

Imonolith would like to welcome and introduce a new bass player to the band… Please welcome, Scott Whalen. Scott played bass with the successful North American band, Econoline Crush. He is an amazing Bass Player, vocalist and like, Byron an awesome human being. Welcome Scott!!!

Unfortunately, Byron Stroud cannot commit to Imonolith and our future album cycle plans. It was a difficult decision for Byron, but it is best for himself, his family and for the band moving forward. He will always be a brother to us and we wish him all the best.

Check out the new Video Teaser and mark your calendars for January 10th, 2020! Next year will be very busy in many ways for Imonolith… and yes, we will be touring in support of this album. Stay posted for tour date announcements.

Thanks as always for your support and patience. We can’t wait to get going in 2020 🤘”

Imonolith (Threat Signal, Ex-Devin Townsend Project, Etc.) Premiere “Hollow” Music Video

Imonolith (Threat Signal, ex-Devin Townsend Project, etc.) have premiered a new video for their new song “Hollow.” You can check that out below:

Ryan Van Poederooyen commented:

“‘Hollow‘ is a song about the personal battles we all can face internally. Social pressures and self expectation can drive you to a point of feeling hollow inside if you don’t meet specific standards in your mind. The song itself actually has a positive message built into it. It’s not about feeling hollow, it’s more about preventing that hollow feeling that any one of us can develop through negative thinking and limited beliefs.”

“As for ‘Hollow‘, musically it represents the catchier side of Imonolith‘s music. We have varying influences spread throughout the band and we don’t like to play just one style of music. We have a more metal crushing side, a catchier radio side and then music that fits in-between our heavy and catchier vibes. We always aim to make Imonolith‘s overall sound diverse and interesting. Most of all, we’re always focused on trying to write a great song, no matter if it’s heavy or catchy.”
