I Prevail’s Brian Burkheiser recently underwent surgery after suffering a vocal injury. He shared the following Instagram post regarding that:
As many of you know, I suffered a vocal injury on the latest I Prevail tour. Initially, I tried my hardest to work through it, but as time went on the pain only got worse and it was determined I would need to go home to Michigan to be examined by my vocal doctor. I went in with optimism, but unfortunately my worst fear came true. I developed a polyp on my vocal cord and after it didn’t respond to treatment or look to be healing on it’s own, it needed to be surgically removed. Luckily though, my surgery was successfully done by one of the best laryngologist in the country, Dr. Adam Rubin. I'm very grateful to him and his whole team who have helped me try to keep a positive light throughout this process and make my recovery as smooth as possible. Physically and mentally these last few months have been some of the most challenging of my life, but I know this experience will only make me a stronger person going forward. I've never been one to back down from a challenge, and I sure as hell am not going to start now. To end this, I just wanted to say thank to everyone who has continued to support I Prevail over the years. You are the reason we do this. It meant so much to me that everyone continued to come out and support the shows where I was unable to perform. I want to give a huge thank you to my brothers in the band, especially @eric_prevail and @dylan_prevail for stepping up and carrying parts for me in my absence. It's time to come back stronger than ever. It's time to start writing LP2.
