“As we’re out on a massive 42-date European tour with Beast In Black, we thought it’d be a good time to finally give you guys some new firewind music. We’ve been testing the new track live every night and the reception has been phenomenal. The video was filmed on February 11th in Munich at Tonhalle in front of 2,000 screaming metalheads and we feel it captures the energy and mood of the song. Crank it up and enjoy!”

We’re in pre-production mode and songwriting mode. And the new material is killer; it’s coming together really nice. And we start the year off with a massive European and U.K. tour. We’re playing 42 shows all over Europe and U.K. We’re gonna be special guests of BEAST IN BLACK. They’re an amazing band. They’re blowing up right now. And they’re taking us out on tour with them… It’s gonna be an amazing show… So, yeah, we start the year off with a massive tour. New music is gonna follow. Battle Beast said the following:

“We are very sorry to announce that under present circumstances it has become impossible for Battle Beast to go on with the planned North- American tour together with Dragonforce. Thankfully the legendary Firewind are stepping in to fill the line-up!

We were really looking forward to seeing all our North-American fans again and we know a lot of you are disappointed to see us drop from this tour.

However we are currently looking for new touring options in North America, and we already have some interesting possibilities on the table. So with any luck, we’ll have good news to share with you soon!

Stay safe, and hope to see you soon!

- BATTLE BEAST”

DragonForce’s Herman Li also commented:

“Unfortunately, due to unexpected circumstances, Battle Beast is no longer able to make it on tour. We will miss them, but we are beyond excited to share the stage with our good friends in Firewind. Firewind is legendary, Herbie Langhans has an incredible voice, and Gus G is one of the best guitarists around today. I can’t wait to hear Firewind‘s 20th Anniversary set, I know the fans are going to love it.”

Firewind Premiere “New Found Power” Music Video

Firewind have premiered a new video for their new song “New Found Power.” Guitarist Gus G. commented:

“We recently met in our rehearsal room in Thessaloniki, Greece, to film what we all missed so much: playing together. That’s why the ‘New Found Power’ music video comes without fancy effects or anything: it’s just the four of us playing this cool new song and embracing it. We really hope to see all our fans on the upcoming 20th anniversary tour. It’s been way too long and we can’t wait to celebrate 20 years of Firewind with a wild ride through our history.”

Firewind Premiere “Welcome To The Empire” Music Video

Firewind have premiered a new video for their new song “Welcome To The Empire.” This track is from the band’s new self-titled album, which will be released on May 15.

Gus G commented:

“‘Welcome To The Empire‘ is the opening track of the album and an obvious choice for a single. Making the video was an ongoing work in progress as we filmed the band performance back in January. However, we wanted to blend in futuristic visual effects for the story and as I’m a huge sci-fi movie fan, I wanted to incorporate something along those lines.

Our director Panagiotis Kountouras came up with the concept and we collaborated with MDP, a vfx company out of Hollywood, CA. The story is set in a dystopia, where humanity has been surrendered to the New World Order. Two cyborgs are playing with the future of mankind in a chess game. Each move has consequences and technology will be the only winner. It was a really challenging production, but we love the end result. We hope you will too!”

Firewind Premiere “Rising Fire” Music Video

Firewind have premiered a new video for their new song “Rising Fire.” This track is from the band’s new self-titled album, which will be released on May 15. That effort will be the group’s first since their recent lineup change. Firewind commented:

“Hey everyone! We’re finally back with some new music for you! ‘Rising Fire’ is the first single off our upcoming self-titled ninth studio album. It features our new singer Herbie Langhans, who sounds amazing! This song is about overcoming difficulties and situations that one might be stuck in. We’ve all been there at some point in our lives. We hope ‘Rising Fire’ can be a soundtrack to a positive mindset. So play it loud!”

Track Listing:

01. “Welcome To The Empire”
02. “Devour”
03. “Rising Fire”

Firewind Part Ways With Two Members, Announce New Singer

Firewind have parted ways with guitarist/keyboardist Bob Katsionis and singer Henning Basse. With this news, the band have also revealed that Herbie Langhans will be serving as their new vocalist.

The group commented:

“Dear friends & supporters,

We’ve been pretty quiet about the new album but we’ll cut right to the chase.

After many years, Bob Katsionis is stepping down from the ongoing touring lifestyle and focus on his work as a producer / studio engineer as well as his own projects.

We’ve also parted ways with Henning Basse due to personal reasons that will prevent him from completing the upcoming album touring cycle and continuing with the band overall.

We thank them both for their time and contributions to Firewind. There’s absolutely no bad blood here, the guys are part of our legacy and we wish them best of luck for the future.

While this was a big challenge for us, it is a change that needed to happen in order for the band to continue. This is a rebirth of Firewind and a new chapter in our musical history.

At the same time we’d like to welcome new singer Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, x- Sinbreed).

Herbie is a hell of a singer and his powerful style breathes new life on our new material but also on our back catalogue.

He recently completed the vocals for our 9th studio album which is due later this year.

We’re very excited to finally reveal the upcoming album and share the new sounds with you! Stay tuned as more announcements coming real soon!”

Firewind Sign Worldwide Deal With AFM Records

Firewind have signed a new worldwide deal with AFM Records. Gus G. commented:

“After working together with AFM Records on my latest solo album, ‘Fearless’, and seeing the great results that were achieved, the passion and care they put into the project, it felt natural to extend our partnership and bring Firewind under the same roof. This is something I’m very excited about and I’m also happy to announce that we’re already working on the follow-up of ‘Immortals’. We plan to enter the studio after our summer tour with Queensrÿche wraps up in August. Stay tuned for further announcements!”
