“I just had a surgery done, and I’ll feel better really, really soon. I should feel better soon ’cause I had an infection. I was running a fever for two weeks straight. So, no need to worry, no one. We’re staying positive. And really, I’m so grateful of each and every one of you for just your love and support and everything you’ve all come together for. It’s been heartfelt.”

GoFundMe Launched For Agnostic Front’s Roger Miret Following Recent Cancer Battle

Agnostic Front’s Roger Miret recently underwent a battle with cancer and is now in remission. Despite the good news, the vocalist is currently in need of some financial assistance. You can help him out via GoFundMe.

The band commented:

“Attention worldwide family and friends!!

Earlier this year, Agnostic Front’s vocalist Roger Miret was diagnosed with cancer.

A long road of tests and diagnoses lead to a complex surgery and lengthy hospital stay. Even though the surgery was complicated the results were extremely positive. The cancer was successfully removed and we are very relieved to say that Roger is now in complete remission and that all signs of cancer have disappeared.

With the joy of knowing that Roger is now cancer free also comes the bitter reality of months of treatment and Roger and his family are dealing with the financial backlash of a cancer diagnosis.

Today we are calling upon our beloved worldwide music scene, friends and family, o please share this fundraiser and donate what you can, during these difficult times.

From our family to yours, a heartfelt thank you for your support and contribution!

We ask you to please respect Roger and his family’s privacy while they continue on their journey of recovery.”

Sick Of It All & Agnostic Front Cancel East Coast Tour

Sick Of It All and Agnostic Front have officially cancelled their East Coast tour due to the coronavirus pandemic. Agnostic Front commented:

Agnostic Front Premiere “Urban Decay” Music Video

Agnostic Front have premiered a new video for their song “Urban Decay.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Get Loud!” Roger Miret told Forbes the following:

“The song itself is kind of like me taking you back to the Lower East Side, but back in 1981 when the Lower East Side was a different animal then what we see today. And it talks about what the Lower East Side was and what it was full of, you know danger and degenerates, it was unsafe, there was no room for weak people. Basically you had to be strong to survive and get through it, and on all levels, not just physically but mentally, emotionally, and everything. Obviously It talks about all the violence that was around then, and then verse two goes into a certain incident about a fight that took place around that time, a knife fight. But it’s basically a story of how the Lower East Side used to be, and just giving you a little bit of a flash of a certain time and place.”

Man Injured By Stage Diver At Agnostic Front Show Awarded $2 Million Settlement

According to the New York Post, a 46-year-old man named Jason Kooken has been given a $2 million settlement after being injured by stage diver during an April 2, 2017 benefit show for the late Dave Franklin (Vision) at Asbury Park Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ. The incident took place during a set from Agnostic Front, who were performing with fill-in vocalist Mark Ryan (Supertouch).

Kooken’s attorney Mark Morris commented:

“This individual walked right past security, climbed on the stage, pointed and then corkscrewed his body over the band’s lead singer, flipping directly onto Mr. Kooken’s head.”

Kooken ended up with partial paralysis and had to undergo emergency spinal surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. After the operation, he also had to spend months in a rehabilitation facility.

In March 2019, Kooken filed a lawsuit against Asbury Audio, Inc., which organized the event, and they ultimately settled for $2 million. Morris continued:

“People who go to concerts should not have to worry about someone landing on their head. It is important concert venues and promoters develop comprehensive safety plans and hire competent security people that don’t let this kind of thing happen. We hope by achieving this result, we can prevent this kind of thing from happening to others in the future.”
