Man Injured By Stage Diver At Agnostic Front Show Awarded $2 Million Settlement

According to the New York Post, a 46-year-old man named Jason Kooken has been given a $2 million settlement after being injured by stage diver during an April 2, 2017 benefit show for the late Dave Franklin (Vision) at Asbury Park Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ. The incident took place during a set from Agnostic Front, who were performing with fill-in vocalist Mark Ryan (Supertouch).

Kooken’s attorney Mark Morris commented:

“This individual walked right past security, climbed on the stage, pointed and then corkscrewed his body over the band’s lead singer, flipping directly onto Mr. Kooken’s head.”

Kooken ended up with partial paralysis and had to undergo emergency spinal surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. After the operation, he also had to spend months in a rehabilitation facility.

In March 2019, Kooken filed a lawsuit against Asbury Audio, Inc., which organized the event, and they ultimately settled for $2 million. Morris continued:

“People who go to concerts should not have to worry about someone landing on their head. It is important concert venues and promoters develop comprehensive safety plans and hire competent security people that don’t let this kind of thing happen. We hope by achieving this result, we can prevent this kind of thing from happening to others in the future.”

Ex-Agnostic Front Bassist Alan Peters Passes Away

Ex-Agnostic Front bassist Alan Peters has passed away. The band confirmed the sad news on social media:

“Today was a very sad day. We lost a solid a brother, a good friend, and a past bandmate who was part of the magic and making of our Liberty And Justice For… LP. Alan Peters is no longer with us. We would often see each other here and there mostly in Dallas. Last time he didn’t make the show and we figured we’d catch him a few months later. Sadly that never happened. Our deepest condolences for the Peters family. Alan had deep roots in the Pitsburgh scene and NYHC scene. Rest In Peace my brother, you will not be forgotten…”

Agnostic Front have premiered a new video for their song “Conquer And Divide.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Get Loud!.” Roger Miret commented:

“That’s it, nothing new. The rich stay rich, the poor stay poor, but we’ve lost sight of how we are pawned against each other for political gains as we fight to simply exist.”

Agnostic Front Premiere “I Remember” Music Video

Agnostic Front have premiered a new video for their new song “I Remember.” This track is from the band’s new album “Get Loud!,” which will be released on November 8.

Roger Miret commented:

“Probably the most important song on ‘Get Loud!‘, ‘I Remember‘ is such a super personal song reminiscing on me and Vinnie putting the AF and NYHC stamp on the map! Looking back at it, I feel like this song could have been the title track to ‘Godfathers Of Hardcore‘ documentary.

We chose to call on our friends and family for the videography and photography to paint that magical picture of our glory days. Today, Tomorrow, Forever”
