“Although we’ve always been intrigued by the idea of a ‘rock cruise,’ there are others in the space that already do it really well. For DWP to do a cruise, we had to have something that would make our voyage uniquely ours. The opportunity to work with Sixthman and add a festival on a private island in Belize gave us the twist we were looking for and the comfort of working with a best-in-class partner like the Sixthman team. When else will you ever have the chance to see Rob Zombie and Chevelle on a private island with 3,000 of your closest friends? This is exactly the once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience that DWP likes to create for our amazing fans.”

Sixthman CEO Anthony Diaz added:

“Today’s announcement of the high octane lineup and highly immersive vacation experience showcases the commitment of Danny Wimmer Presents and Sixthman to curate the ultimate vacation for rock fans that includes days and nights of music and more at sea plus a full festival day on a decked out private island. The inaugural VORAGOS event will be a truly mind-blowing festival next February and for years to come!”

Li commented:

“I’ve been a huge fan of Jason Becker since I was young, and it’s one of the biggest honors of my life to be able to help organize this tribute and raise money for him. I still have a Jason Becker poster in my studio in London. It’s been very inspiring to see everyone coming together to celebrate Jason.”

Becker added:

“I am so grateful for all the love and support everyone has given to me and my family. As far as selling my guitars being sad, and that I shouldn’t have to do it, I just want you to know that isn’t how I feel. It makes me happy to see others playing my music. I feel good about passing on my guitars, thinking they mean something to others. I can’t play them now, but other folks can. That’s a good thing. And, I want myself and my family not to have to worry about money, if possible. Thank you for all the love, I send it right back to you.”

Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge) Working On New Solo Album

Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge) has started working on material for his new solo album. He is currently planning to hit the studio in November/December.

Tremonti told Myglobalmind the following

“My producer lives here in Orlando, Florida, and Myles [Kennedy] has been here the last two months recording his solo album. He just finished tracking it a day or two ago, so I’m next on deck to go into the studio for mine in November/December. Once that’s done, Myles and I will start to work on writing the next Alter Bridge album while touring for our solo projects. That’s when we start compiling ideas for the next Alter Bridge album.”

He continued when asked how far along he is with the songwriting process:

“I’m pretty very far along; I would say I’m 14 songs deep. I would get to about 20 songs before deciding which ones will make the final cut. It’s not a question of which songs are good or bad; it’s which work and have a good dynamic range.”

He also added the following about the musical direction as it compares to Alter Bridge:

“It has heavier elements, and it definitely has some of the moody, atmospheric stuff like Alter Bridge. The Tremonti band’s rhythm section stands apart from Alter Bridge, and any type of speed metal that I bring into Tremonti might not necessarily fit into Alter Bridge. Our vocal couldn’t be any more different. Myles is a seasoned tenor, and I’m almost a baritone. That’s the big difference in how the two bands sound different.”
