Slaves Frontman Jonny Craig Released Following Scottsdale, AZ Arrest, Band Comments

As previously reported, Slaves’ Jonny Craig was arrested for criminal damage and disorderly conduct during the band’s March 12 show at Pub Rock Live in Scottsdale, AZ. However, those charges have now been dropped, and Craig has been released.

The band commented:

“To confirm the rumors, Jonny Craig was arrested last night in Scottsdale, AZ.

As Slaves were performing on stage, an altercation was transpiring backstage between members of the band Ghost Town causing the venue to call the authorities. While police arrived, the bands set was hastily shut down 30 minutes early by cutting off all microphones on stage.

Unaware of what was happening (along with the fans), Jonny “dropped the mic” and damaged a few microphones (approximately $60 dollars worth of damages, which were paid for by the band). In response, the police handcuffed and arrested Jonny for criminal damage. This was obviously an excessive use of force (realized later), resulting in all charges to be dropped and Jonny to be immediately released.

We want to thank all fans, old & new for their support on the release of our new album & coming out to this tour.

We’ll see you again soon,

SLAVES”

“UK & Europe —

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, SLAVES have been forced to postpone the upcoming shows in the United Kingdom & mainland Europe.

As many of you may know by now, Jonny had been experiencing severe back pain for a while and recently had to undergo three major back surgeries. We’re happy to say that Jonny is in great spirits and recovering well but will have to remain hospitalized for the present time to properly heal and rehabilitate from these surgeries.

We are already working on the reschedule for later in the year with our UK/European team and support is sorting out to include great line-up. All tickets will remain valid and will be honored at the rescheduled shows. A special thank you to XRAY Touring, and all the promoters in UK & mainland Europe for their understanding.

Thank you for your continuous love & support,

SLAVES.”

Craig said the following:

“Texas & NYC —

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I have been forced to postpone the upcoming shows in Texas and New York City.

Over the past few weeks I had been experiencing severe back pain. After consulting with the doctor it was clear that surgery was necessary. In this time, I have undergone three back surgeries. I’m beginning post surgery recovery and will have to remain hospitalized for the present time to properly heal from these surgeries and get back to full health before I can perform.

It hurts me so much to postpone these shows, but I hope you understand this is something I need to do for my health. I am going to work to ensure that these rescheduled shows are extra special. Once I know my recovery timeline, I will get these shows rescheduled and announced as soon as possible. All tickets will remain valid and will be honored at the rescheduled shows. A special thank you to Third String Productions, Twin Productions, and New Island for their understanding and help with rescheduling these shows.

Thank you for your continuous support.

Love,
Jonny“
