    Neurosis have been added to Acid Bath’s September 5 show with The Melvins and Kylesa at Hellbender in Asheville, North Carolina. With this news, the band have also booked two shows at The Fillmore in San Francisco, California for October 16 and 17.

  • William Shatner To Bring His Metal Project To The Stage At Riot Fest

    William Shatner (“Star Trek”, etc.) will be bringing his metal project to the stage for the first time during this year’s Riot Fest in Chicago, IL. The performance will find him joined by members of Nuclear Messiah as well as a number of special guests: Marcus Nand (Mike Tramp, Candice Night), Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol), Britt Lightning (Vixen, Cactus), and Fred Aching (Kings Of Thrash, Dead Groove).

    Shatner commented:

    “I’ve always believed that music, like space, is about exploration. Riot Fest is exactly the kind of place where anything can happen. We’re bringing volume, intensity, and a few surprises. With this incredible band behind me, I expect nothing less than lift-off. I can’t wait to share this experience with the fans.”

    Brian Perera, founder of Cleopatra Records, added:

    “William Shatner has spent a lifetime redefining expectations.     The Obsessed have signed a new deal with Heavy Psych Sounds. The band’s upcoming album will be released through the label in 2027. Frontman Scott “Wino” Weinrich commented:

    During their July 14 show at Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, CT, Motionless In White performed “R.I.P.” and their cover of Corey Hart’s “Sunglasses At Night” live for the first time. Notably, Skylar Grey also joined the group onstage for “R.I.P.” Both tracks are from Motionless In White’s new album, “Decades,” which will be released on July 17.

    Napalm Death recently performed live at the NPR headquarters in Washington, DC as part of the “Tiny Desk Concert Series.” You can watch that set below:

    Vocalist Mark “Barney” Greenway commented:

    “I’ve dipped in and out of ‘Democracy Now!’ via NPR Radio for decades now to get my unvarnished-yet-thoughtful North American news. So when the NPR ‘Tiny Desk’ thing came up, it kind of blew my tiny mind a little bit. We realized that we were going to reach far more people than usual with the ‘Tiny Desk’ performance, but as you might expect from Napalm Death, we were never going to temper the performance to any degree. We hope everybody at least gets something from it, even if it’s just an understanding of musical abrasion being pushed to the nth degree. Please always support public access broadcasting in view of the ongoing relentless attacks upon it.”

    NPR Music producer and writer Lars Gotrich added:

    “The first grindcore band at the ‘Tiny Desk’ had to be the founding fathers. I turned down or said ‘maybe later’ to so many others — that’s how important it was to me to get this right. There is only one Napalm Death, not only exemplary of extreme music but also what it takes to be human in what feels like an inhumane time.”

    Bury Tomorrow have premiered a new video for their new song “Sx.” The track coincides with the launch of the band’s independent imprint DEA†H RECORDS.

    “‘Sx’ — short for ‘Symptom’ — explores the complexities of the human experience and the daily struggle between light and darkness, certainty and doubt. It reflects the understanding that life isn’t defined by absolutes, but by spectrums. Every person carries both beauty and burden, and we all have parts of ourselves we’d rather keep buried.”

    Vocalist Daniel Winter-Bates added:

  • Noctule Premiere “Lord Of Blood” Music Video

    Noctule, the video game themed project featuring Svalbard’s Serena Cherry, have premiered a new video for their new song “Lord Of Blood.” This track is from the band’s new album, “Extinguish Thy Flame,” which will be released on September 25. That “Elden Ring”-inspired record can be pre-ordered HERE.

    Cherry commented on the single:

    “This song represents the joy and freedom of being in full control of the music you create, without having to make any compromises with bandmates or managers. I love creating music by myself and in ‘Lord of Blood’ – I think that shows. This song is a celebration of pure musical independence; as well as an ode to the towering, horned demigod Mogh: Lord of Blood from ‘Elden Ring.’ I’m proud that it doesn’t sound like anything else in the metal world right now. Honestly ‘Lord of Blood’ has of my favourite guitar leads I’ve ever written. When it comes to making metal music, I just can’t resist adding layer upon layer of guitar harmonies.”

    She went on to discuss the album:

    “Melodeath and black metal are two of my favourite genres, and while I never set out with the deliberate intention to merge the two genres together, that is how this album has ended up sounding. I’m proud that Noctule doesn’t really sound like anything else in the metal world.”

    She also added the following about “Elden Ring”:

    “Whenever I truly fall in love with a video game, it ignites a creative fire inside me that makes me want to write songs about the game. Video games are such a deep source of inspiration for me. ‘Elden Ring‘ is not just my favourite game: it’s the game that saved my life and helped me overcome the darkest challenges of mental illness. I’m not the same person as I was before ‘Elden Ring‘ came out, this game has taught me so much about perseverance and inner strength. That’s why I felt utterly compelled to write an album about ‘Elden Ring.’

    I think the unforgiving world of ‘Elden Ring‘ and the harsh sounds of extreme metal belong together. Metal is intense, relentless and uncompromising – so is ‘Elden Ring‘ as a game. Writing a metal album about ‘Elden Ring‘ couldn’t be more fitting in my eyes.”
