Attila, Miss May I, & We Came As Romans Sign With SharpTone Records

Attila, Miss May I, and We Came As Romans have all signed new deals with SharpTone Records. The label, which was started by Nuclear Blast CEO, Markus Staiger and former Sumerian Records vice president, Shawn Keith, have also signed three newer bands, Don Broco, Loathe, and World War Me, as well.

Keith told Billboard the following:

“Developing this label has been very exciting for me. The opportunity to partner and cultivate new and established artists working towards broadening their global potential is thrilling. SharpTone will continue to diversify and evolve as a brand for music fans to truly identify with. We are not just another record label, we are a new music company, allowing artists to be as creative and passionate as they choose to be.”

Attila’s Chris Fronzak also commented:

“We are REALLY excited to announce that we have officially signed to SharpTone! We are at an amazing point in our career and we know that these guys have the power that we need to take things to the next level. We’re ready to dominate the planet with our brand new album. SharpTone is a label that shares our enthusiasm and understands who we are and what our vision is. So let’s fucking crush the world and spread party metal to the masses!”

Miss May I’s Bj Stead Loses Personal Items Including Music Files & Equipment In Robbery

Miss May I guitarist Bj Stead’s home was broken into, while on tour, and thieves stole many of his personal items, including computer equipment, hard drives containing his music projects, video game consoles, etc. If you want to help him out, you can donate to his Gofundme campaign.

Stead said the following:

“Hello everyone, I hope this post finds you well. My name is Bj Stead, and I am the lead guitar player of the Ohio metal band Miss May I. Recently, on April 27th 2016, I was robbed of thousands of dollars worth of my personal belongings, all of which are necessary to make what I do for a living possible.

The most important thing lost, aside from personal belongings such as video game consoles, toiletries and necessities, was my MacBook Pro, as well as all of my recording equipment, and multiple external hard drives with projects I have been working on for months, as we will be going back to the studio to start the writing process for a new album in the next few months.

As we all know, the music industry is an extremely unforgiving business, especially for artists, but at the same time I very much love what I do, writing and recording music, being on the road, and playing for fans all over the world.

The money earned will be used for replacing my stolen MacBook Pro, my recording equipment, as well as all of the lost hardware and software that went along with it, so I can get back to doing what I’ve been doing for years, which is creating music for the greatest family in metal music, which is my Miss May I family.

Any donation helps, wether it’s a penny, or a dollar! I can’t express how grateful I am for doing what I do, and having some of the best, most supportive fans in the world, and I won’t let one selfish theif ever take that from me. Thank you all so much for your time, and as always, stay metal!

Bj Stead“

Levi Benton also commented on the situation, and said that the recording rig with all the band’s songs on it was also stolen:

Miss May I Involved In A Second Crash On Their Current Tour

Miss May I were involved in another van crash, while on their current tour with Blessthefall. The band members are all okay, but they will be missing their Albuquerque, NM show.

The band posted the following statement:

“Hey everyone, some of you may have heard that, for the second time on this tour, we were involved in a crash on the freeway. The good news is that save for a few scrapes and bruises, everyone is OK and we even managed to make it to last night’s show. However, we will be spending today waiting for our van to be fixed up, so we will not be able to make the show this evening in Albuquerque, NM. We will still make our show in St Louis, MO tomorrow however. Albuquerque, we will be back on May 7th with our friends in Memphis May Fire, We Came As Romans and For Today. We’re sorry to everyone that was coming out tonight, hopefully we can see you then! Stay Metal and stay safe!”
