Gemini Syndrome Premiere New Song “Broken Reflection”

Gemini Syndrome have premiered a new song titled “Broken Reflection.” This track is from the band’s new album “3rd Degree – The Raising,” which will be released on October 15.

Aaron Nordstrom commented:

“’Broken Reflection’ focuses on the concept of Indra’s net. Basically saying that every consciousness is a crystal in a net or web and they all reflect the reflections from all the other crystals. The thing about mirrors is, they don’t always reflect the image back exactly the way it appears. Sometimes the mirror can alter what you’re experiencing versus what’s actually there. Broken Reflection is a state of being in a sense. We are all trying to show the best versions of ourselves, but we need to master those versions inside before we can present the perfect image and not have it be confused for something illusory.”

Brian Steele Medina added:

“Generation after generation we build an ever growing structure higher and higher upon itself. Are we building it on a solid foundation or not is the question. Are we building towards something better? Or are we slowly building a faulty structure that is doomed to collapse? It’s the idea that we can take everything given to us in this world: Education, Tradition, Religion, Politics, the entire structure of society, and we can do it all right down to the smallest detail, and yet, still not be fulfilled. It’s the idea that ultimately, the only way to live a life of purpose, is to follow our internal compass and forge our own way.”

Gemini Syndrome have announced that their new album “3rd Degree – The Raising” will be released on October 15. Pre-orders are available HERE.

“3rd Degree – The Raising” Track Listing:

01. “Reintegration”
02. “IDK”
03. “Die With Me”
04. “Baptized In Fire”
05. “Children Of The Sun”
06. “Abandoned”
07. “Broken Reflection”
08. “Sum Quod Eris”
09. “Best Of Me”
10. “Absolution”
11. “Hold The Line”
12. “Where We Started From”
13. “Fiat Lux”

Vocalist Aaron Nordstrom said the following:

“The album is about death and rebirth. Finding your true self and fostering its growth so as to help build the world better than we inherited it. In the process of this record, I made some major life choices. Mainly to stop killing myself slowly with alcohol. Two years without a drink and a couple near-death experiences later, I think I have ample experience to talk about a subject as elusive as death.”

“Our hope is that through sharing our experiences, lessons learned, and battles overcome, that we can help others to examine their own consciousness. Their role in the world in its almost infinite capacity, and to help remind each other that we are ALL in this together. We are a family, and when we are United in our commonality, we can achieve things worthy of the attention of the GODS. If you want to change the world, quietly go to work on yourself.”

“It was a long, treacherous road to get here. First working out an insane amount of songs before arriving in Arizona to record with Matt Good, and then writing a slew more while in the actual recording process, we approached this album with high intentions to evolve musically and internally as people. But then, once we had finally finished everything, and were ready to start releasing new music… everything was put on hold due to the global pandemic.”

Drummer Brian Steele Medina also commented:

“The twist to the 3rd and ‘final’ degree, is that it’s not the end at all. Rather, it’s a rebirth contingent upon our growth and lessons learned from the suffering of our past mistakes. A spiritual growth that can only be attained through baptism by fire. A metaphorical, yet very real resurrection — the raising.”

“We absolutely loved working with Matt and he completely understood where we wanted to take this album creatively and what it was going to take to bring the third chapter of this trilogy to light. Our actual collective blood, sweat and tears went into its creation.”

“These past few years have definitely been an exercise in patience and acceptance. We had everything mixed and mastered and ready to go in early 2020 before everything shut down. We’re just stoked to FINALLY put this album out and get this post plague show on the road.”

The record’s latest single “Abandoned” can be found below. Medina said the following about that:

“This was always one of my favorite heavy riffs that we had in the bank for a while. When the music was finally done, Aaron already had a concept in mind he had wanted to tackle for a while.”

Nordstrom added:

“At one point when I was working through some of my traumas, my kung fu teacher made me promise to write a song about my adoption and the rejection from my birth mother. This heavy beast of a song was the result. An anthem if you will that I control me. Not anyone or anything else.”

Gemini Syndrome Premiere “Die With Me” Video

Gemini Syndrome have premiered a new video for their new song “Die With Me.” This track is expected to appear on the band’s upcoming album.

Frontman Aaron Nordstrom commented:

“23, Shakespeare, The divine wedding of yin and yang… ‘Die With Me’ is an invitation for the listener to come along on the journey of self-discovery with us, which ultimately leads to the death of the lower self and the resurrection of the higher self. Lao Tzu said, ‘The one created the two, the two created the three, and then came the 10,000 things.’ 2 and 3 respectively correspond to the male and female energies. 2 being a single line and 3 being a triangle or vessel. Therefore 23 signifies the merging of the seemingly opposite energies of male and female.”

“The video for ‘Die With Me’ shows a different side of death than we’ve shown before. Even though we’re all fatally wounded in some way, we’re still performing and extending our invitation. Maybe the girl is performing a ritual to help our souls cross the river styx? Or to keep us animated in our now, dead state.”

Drummer Brian Steele Medina added:

“In our life we have many deaths, and many reincarnations, and these experiences transform us into a more complete version of our true self… Though while we’re going through it, it’s often uncomfortable, painful, and we tend to avoid these spiritual growth spurts because we’re more comfortable sitting in our pain and shit, than walking through it. So, after we’ve walked through enough of these challenges, we might seek out that person, or tribe whose combined experience could help each other traverse that path to transmutation.”

“Our video for ‘Die With Me’ is designed for the watcher to be exposed to certain signs and symbols and evoke a spiritual experience. It depicts a young initiate performing a ritual at her sacred altar. The blindfold symbolizes that her quest for truth must begin within. She contemplates time, and she laments death and learns that time is an illusion. She scribes the language of her heart as she cries out to the Universe, (Uni-Verse = The One Song.) And we’re all dead, so that’s cool too.”

Gemini Syndrome Premiere “IDK” Video

Gemini Syndrome have premiered a new video for their new song “IDK.” This track is expected to appear on the band’s upcoming album.

Aaron Nordstrom commented:

“‘IDK’ plays with the double entendre, ‘I decay’ and ‘IDK’ (I don’t know) to illustrate the Voltaire quote, ‘The more I read, the more I acquire, the more certain I am that I know nothing.'”

Brian Steele Medina added:

“‘IDK’ opens the door to the idea that we have to be willing to discard our old ideas and identity to give space for new ideas to grow and allow a more evolved identity to flourish. The last thing we want to do is to get stuck in old patterns of thought and behavior. This is an essential principal as we progress through the various degrees of the initiatory traditions.”

Gemini Syndrome Premiere “Reintegration” Video

Gemini Syndrome have premiered a new video for their new song “Reintegration.” This track is the first single from the band’s upcoming album.

Aaron Nordstrom commented:

“Our video for ‘Reintegration’ tells the story of an initiate’s journey as he travels through the various stages of initiation. We follow him as he walks away from his past in an effort to find himself by facing and overcoming various trials and tribulations, until he ultimately ascends to the highest version of himself.”

Brian Steele Medina continued:

“We worked with director Brian Cox again, who is a good friend and a visionary artist, who also happens to be stuck in U.K. due to quarantine restrictions. These unique times forced us to get creative. Between shooting the live band shots in the U.S., animations done in Portugal, rendered in Russia, and edited in UK, this ended up being a worldwide collaboration.”

Cox added:

“The video for ‘Reintegration’ allowed me to re-connect with my inner layers, distortions and glitches, reestablishing my continued search of artistic clarity. 2020 has been a force to allow us to think outside of the box. Directed all the way from my studio in England, band performance shot on location in the U.S., animations created in Portugal… this video truly is a worldwide collaboration.”

Gemini Syndrome Premiere New Song “Reintegration”

Gemini Syndrome have premiered a new song titled “Reintegration.” The band commented:

“‘Reintegration’ perfectly encapsulates the theme of the third and final chapter of our trilogy of albums. It’s a fearless and transparent introduction to the idea of traversing death and being reborn; ultimately reintegrating with our true self, and being raised into the next degree of consciousness.”

Gemini Syndrome Finish Recording New Album

Gemini Syndrome have officially finished the recording process for their new album. The effort was produced by Matt Good and it will serve as the final installment in the band’s album trilogy, which started with “Lux” and “Memento Mori.“ Drummer Brian Steele Medina commented:

“We’ve worked long and hard to bring the third chapter of this trilogy to light. Our collective blood, sweat, & tears went into the creation process and we can’t wait to finally unleash this new music.”
