Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery has released a new EP titled “Grief & Distance.” The effort features three new songs, “Distance,“ “Haunted” and “I’m Wrong“, and new acoustic versions of “What’s The Matter” and “Kings.“ Lowery commented:
“This EP was my way to process the loss of my mother, and the hard hit and the uncertainty of my livelihood from the pandemic. I escaped into my basement and into the songwriting process…it never fails me.”
Sevendust’s Clint Lowery has shared a quarantine cover of Nine Inch Nails‘ “Hurt.“ You can check that out below:
“My cover of “Hurt” from NIN. Trent Reznor has been a hero of mine for many years. Musically no one has ever consistently inspired me. From the first song I heard until the most current piece he has released I’ve found tremendous inspiration and escape in his work.
When we covered this years ago on the day Johnny Cash passed away it helped me find a voice for myself. It made me realize you don’t have to have a technical and trained voice to sing with heart.
I don’t consider myself a lead singer in fact, but I do believe what I sing. I believe the words and feel the pain, happiness and relief when I sing.”
Sevendust’s Clint Lowery has shared a lockdown performance of “Allowed To Run” off his latest solo album “God Bless The Renegades.“ You can check that out below:
“Hey y’all, here’s a rendition of a track off of “God Bless the Renegades” called Allowed to run. It’s the one song I haven’t played live YET. Thought it’d be cool to do it like this. Took me a few takes to get through it 😉
It’s about being able to walk away from a situation that is turning us into someone we don’t wanna be.
