Armored Saint Share “The Truth Always Hurts” Live Video From “Symbol Of Salvation Live”

Armored Saint have shared a new live video for their song “The Truth Always Hurts.” The footage is taken from the band’s new live CD/DVD “Symbol Of Salvation Live,” which will be released on October 22. That effort was recorded during the band’s July 13, 2018 show at The Gramercy Theatre in New York in which they performed “Symbol Of Salvation” in full.

Armored Saint To Release “Symbol Of Salvation Live” CD/DVD In October

Armored Saint will be releasing a new live CD/DVD titled “Symbol Of Salvation Live” on October 22. The effort was recorded during the band’s July 13, 2018 show at The Gramercy Theatre in New York. That concert found the band performing “Symbol Of Salvation” in full.

Bassist Joey Vera said the following:

“I felt like showing Symbol… in another light was a great homage to the record itself. Also, having all the fans be there and part of that event is a way for us to say ‘Thank you!’ For, without them, we can’t do any of this in the first place.”

“If you would have told me 30 years ago that we’d be talking about this today, I would have told you that you were crazy. All we’ve ever wanted was to make our own music, to take joy and take pride in doing it. The fact that we also have very loyal fans who continue to support what we do is the best icing on this cake. I try to look at our records as objectively as possible, and when I can do that, I’m very proud that this record is a huge part of the band’s legacy, and I am extremely humbled that I’m a part of that.”

Frontman John Bush also commented:

“It links our past to our future. I believe it was the time that we honestly thought we could do whatever we wanted to musically and it would somehow work. There’s a magical feeling about it and it continues to gain mystique every year.”

Notably, the vinyl and digital editions of the release will also include demo tracks that were recorded with late guitarist Dave Prichard during the “Symbol Of Salvation” sessions. Bush added the following about that:

“They’re songs that didn’t make the record, however, there still is a vibe to those tunes, plus Dave’s playing is on them, so that makes them special.”

Armored Saint Premiere “Lone Wolf” Video

Armored Saint have premiered a new video for their song “Lone Wolf.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Punching The Sky.”

Director Robert Graves commented:

“With ‘Lone Wolf’, the band and I agreed right away that this was an opportunity to create a narrative driven video that would convey the song’s lyrical themes, while also creating an engaging visual experience. And so a noir-styled heist in the heart of L.A. just seemed to fit the song perfectly.

We decided to keep the story simple and allow the tone of the video to help convey the song’s significance. This gave us (the crew) the opportunity to create an aesthetic that intensified the song’s mood, while also getting some incredible action scenes to tell the story. Needless to say, Armored Saint fans are in for a ride. I think they’re gonna love it!”

Bassist Joey Vera continued:

“Working again with director Robert Graves was incredible. Not only is this video great to watch, but underneath the storyline lies a layer of allegory, metaphor and symbolism. Kind of a first for us. John Bush’s great lyrics twist and turn into meanings not visible at first sight. It’s a view into a person’s journey through life and how they maneuver through it all and what they gain from that experience in the end. The neo-noir look Robert created in both the story and the band performances make this a great addition to the Armored Saint video catalogue.”

Vocalist John Bush added:

“Working with Robert is awesome. The guy is truly amazing. He’s gonna be a star.

This time we pushed the dialogue. It was challenging for me, but I had fun with it. For motivation, I tried to channel some of the great actors who come into the casting studio that my wife and I run.

‘Wolf’ tackles the view of people who spend a lot of time on their own. Something I spent years doing. The solitary individuals that always keep us guessing. This video is dedicated to them.”

The band will also be answering some questions from fans who submit them on Facebook. The group commented:

“We are very excited about our new record ‘Punching The Sky’, and we’d be pleased if you’d join us in this virtual show to help celebrate the release date. In these strange times where none of us can go to see live music anymore, this is the closest thing we can do about that. We will be on stage, cranking it out as we always do. We will certainly be missing seeing all of you in the venue, but we hope you’ll rock out with us in the comfort of your own homes!”

Armored Saint Premiere “End Of The Attention Span” Video

Armored Saint have premiered a new video for their new song “End Of The Attention Span.” This track is from the band’s new album “Punching The Sky,” which will be released on October 23.

Joey Vera said the following about the video:

“We’ve teamed up with video director Robert Graves for our first single, ‘End of the Attention Span.’ Robert got the lyrical content right away and together we delved into society’s ongoing fascination with electronic devices and the insidious disconnect it creates. The irony is that most of us feel connected together through our phone and computer screens, but the reality is that we have created a wedge between ourselves. Our human interactions have been infected with an intense need for information. We’re always ‘looking’ for more. The end result is a very damaged attention span.”

He also added the following about the album:

“The goal is to write really good music. I know I’m stating the obvious here but that’s about the size of our agenda. We’ve been able to shed a lot of expectations that sometimes plague a band like ours that has been around a long time, and we’ve recently moved into a comfort zone with just being ourselves. We have this kind of freedom now that we didn’t really have early in our career, and we can take some chances and make the kind of music that we want to hear. This record is a reflection of where we are at, right now.”

John Bush continued:

“When you’re a band that began four decades ago, you really have to push yourself harder than ever when it comes to making a new record. The last thing you ever want is for it to appear as though you were going through the motions or that you’re just putting a product out to do some touring. The records are immortal. They’ll be here long after us. Every one needs to count in its own individual way.”
