Mayhem have premiered a new song titled “Realm Of Endless Misery.” You can check out that track below. The single is from the band’s new album, “Liturgy Of Death,” which will be released on February 6.
Vocalist Attila Csihar commented:
“‘Realm Of Endless Misery‘ is the third single from the new Mayhem album and presents a state of human existence in which suffering is not an exception but a governing principle. The song portrays human life as a closed realm sustained by repetition, fear, and manipulation, where time itself becomes a mental trap and hope slowly drains from consciousness.
It does not tell a story and offers no redemption. Through its mantra-like structure and cold, oppressive imagery, the track confronts the listener with the mechanics of misery, revealing a world in which destruction is not an endpoint but a permanent condition. Released as the third single in advance of the whole album, Realm of Endless Misery deepens its unified dark vision and brings the listener one step closer to the final revelation.”
Sylosis have premiered a new video for their new song “Lacerations.” You can check that out below. The track is from the band’s new album, “The New Flesh,“ which will be released on February 20.
Vocalist/guitarist Josh Middleton commented:
“‘Lacerations‘ has become a firm favourite amongst those that have heard the new record. After this song came together during the early stages of writing, I felt a huge sense of relief knowing that we had achieved our best song to date. I couldn’t get the chorus out of my head and that’s usually a good sign. Once we had this song under our belts we knew this album would a big step up in terms of our writing abilities.
Musically it calls back to some of the darker melancholic sounds from Edge of the Earth or even The Supreme Oppressor but with a ton of heavy riffs in there. Lyrically, this song is about facing your own mortality and health anxiety. I think a lot of people can relate to spiralling out of control when they think something’s wrong and how differently you look at your life, and what matters most when confronted with those intrusive thoughts.”
As previously reported, Furnace Fest was recently sold as part of a deal to clear its past debts. However, a former festival partner, Mike Ziemer, has since taken to social media to condemn the decision.
Ziemer said the following:
“Myself and Ryan Luther were lied to, gaslit, and left off the team after 2024, the year we were told was the last year.
Ryan and I handled all booking for 2021-2024, I ran all marketing and paid ads for 2021-2024 along with media team and many other tasks, and between us we did most of the on-site coordination. Also, the ticketing company and most major sponsors were my relationships. The remaining two partners got greedy and felt they could do it without us in 2025 despite telling us over and over the fest couldn’t sustain a profit outside of year 1 and 2.
I kept my mouth shut because I was promised a buy out that never came. Another lie. Ryan and I’s buyouts are not included in the bankruptcy and we are just shit out of luck for everything we built and get to watch it all go down in flames.
So much for caring about brotherhood and community, just another shining example of Christian hypocrisy that turns so many people away from religion.
I promise that this will never be the Furnace Fest you all know and love without myself and Ryan being a part of it. It took 4 of us to make this what was so special, but only 2 people to destroy it.
I have a lot more to say… but that’s for later.”
He also added:
“Now that I have finally been able to speak my peace on that other festival, I am ready to fully move forward and return my focus to putting together a dream team of partners for So What?! Music Festival to make a return [tentatively] in 2027.
I have full confidence that I will be able to bring the right people together to not only bring the festival back, but make sure it stays back for good.
Things are already happening behind the scenes, but if anyone else is interested in getting involved, speak now.
I know what the festival means to so many people around the world and I’m ready to relaunch it, even it we scale it down first to build it back up.”
Midwinter have premiered a new video for their new song “Champagne.” The band commented:
“‘Champagne’ is used as a metaphor to celebrate something that is actually hollow. It symbolizes escapism and temporary euphoria. At its core, the track explores abandonment and betrayal but are masked behind something generally associated with a celebration. Sonically, we wanted to experiment with contrasting emotions. Similar to the lyrics, certain sections of the track emote feelings of beautiful nostalgia but soon give way to extreme and jarring textures. Blending these together creates a push-pull between optimistic reflection and the pain of loss.”
mclusky have announced a new mini-album titled “i sure am getting sick of this bowling alley.” The effort will receive a digital release on March 20 and a vinyl release on May 1. A video for the first single, “i know computer,” can be found below:
“i sure am getting sick of this bowling alley” Track Listing:
01. “i know computer”
02. “as a dad”
03. “spock culture”
04. “hi! we’re on strike”
05. “fan learning difficulties”
06. “that was my brain on elves”
Frontman Andrew “Falco” Falkous commented:
“content. It drives the modern music world. photos. opinions. more photos. more opinions (please note – not all photo and are options are bad, just 99 percent of them). how about – and indulge me here – music? that content-y enough for you? fact is we can’t stop writing, at least at the moment. it’s fun (that’s all it needs to be). it’s the common denominator of band. only death will slow us down (note – it won’t stop us).
the idea for this release starts as a bit of a stop-gap – a thing with which to help promote the north american tour – and ended up as something else entirely. ‘i know computer’ and ‘as a dad’ are new and are singles (they may make the next album, who can say, it’s already half-recorded and you will like it). damien probably likes ‘I am computer’ a bit too much but that’s okay, the heart wants what the heart wants.
‘spock culture’ and ‘hi! we’re on strike’ were recorded during the the world is still here… why didn’t they make the album? I’m not sure. Lyrically they are important historical documents. Up there with the ‘pusheen the cat’ books and/or the u.s. constitution.
‘fan learning difficulties’ and ‘that was my brain on elves’ have only had a digital release before and are, to quote british children from forty years ago, ‘skill.’ hopefully you can agree that i, and by osmosis, all of us – have read a lot of books.”
Voivod have shared a new video for the 2023 version of “Condemned To The Gallows.” This take on the track appears on the group’s 40th anniversary album “Morgöth Tales.” As previously reported, that effort features the new title track as well as re-recorded songs from the band’s catalog.
Along with the video, drummer Michel “Away” Langevin has also shared an update on the band’s current plans. He said the following:
“We are gearing for a very exciting year in the Voivod camp, as we are working on multiple projects at once. We have a brand new setlist for a few tours planned in 2026, where we will play with good friends like Midnight and BAT. We are mixing the Quebec City Symphonique Live album, while recording the next studio LP. A video game by Chaosmonger Studio is in the works as well.
In the meantime, here’s a video by Pierre Ménétrier for a re-recording of the very first song we ever wrote, ‘Condemned To The Gallows’. The video was supposed to come out in 2023, but Pierre’s computer crashed and most data was lost. Pierre, who also did the video ‘Planet Eaters’ for us, retrieved whatever he could and secretly salvaged the video over the last couple of years. The result is truly fantastic, so here it is. Enjoy!”
