Torche Frontman Steve Brooks To Exit The Band Following Upcoming Tour

Torche frontman Steve Brooks has revealed that he will be exiting the band following their upcoming tour with Meshuggah, Converge, and In Flames. He said the following:

“We’re a few months away from the last tour I’m doing with Torche. We’ve been so very lucky and went far beyond what I imagined. I just don’t have it in me to keep this going living on opposite sides of the country. Much love to my band members and everyone that supported us these 18 years! See y’all this Sept/Oct ✌️❤️”

Meshuggah commented:

“We regret to inform that Meshuggah will have to reschedule their U.S. headline tour, originally planned for early 2022, to September/October 2022.

While the ongoing pandemic has been throwing various curve balls on us all the past year, ultimately delaying the completion of the upcoming Meshuggah studio album – there are other concerns that have forced us to make this unfortunate decision. Determining factor is the need to prioritize the physical health of one of the band members who is currently undergoing medical treatment related to a skin condition on his hands, hindering him from rehearsals and from all in all playing his instrument.

While we are optimistic for his future recovery we know it will not be possible for him and the band to be ready to perform already in February 2022.

With these shows now moving, Converge will unfortunately no longer be able to do the tour. However we are grateful that Torche will still be performing with us. Another special guest to replace Converge and to complete the bill is to be announced.

Tickets will remain valid from the original dates, please contact your ticket provider with any queries.”

Torche To Release “Live At Chicago Music Exchange” This Week

Torche will be releasing a new live EP titled “Live At Chicago Music Exchange“ tomorrow (July 3) via Bandcamp. The group commented:

“Last year one of our favorite sessions took place at Chicago Music Exchange. Tomorrow we’ll be releasing the audio from this session exclusively on Bandcamp when they will once again waive their share of revenue. You can watch the session on CME’s YouTube channel.”

Torche Release “Part Time Punks” Radio Session

Torche have digitally released a “Part Time Punks” radio session that they recorded on October 31, 2019 for KXLU 88.9FM. The band commented:

“During our tour in the fall of 2019 we recorded this four song session for the Part Time Punks radio show on KXLU 88.9FM in Los Angeles. Just last week our current tour in Europe with Russian Circles was cancelled due to COVID-19 and like many other musicians we are now faced with staggering losses to try and recoup. We are putting all the proceeds from the sales of this session, available exclusively here on Bandcamp, toward the tour expenses and losses we need to cover and replace. You can purchase this at any price point you see fit, any and all support helps and we’re so grateful for everyone who buys this.”
