The Bombpops Cancel Most Of Their U.S. Tour

The Bombpops have cancelled most of the dates on their upcoming U.S. tour “due to a close family member’s health issue.” Despite this, several headlining shows and two festival dates will proceed as planned.

Jen Razavi issued the following statement:

“Friends. Jen Pop here. I’m sorry to share that The Bombpops will not be able to embark on our headlining tour next month. Being in a van for six weeks is impossible due to a close family member’s health issue. I need to stay close to home and keep trips short to assist my family for the time being.

We will keep the two dates at the beginning of the tour because they are local, as well as the LA at the end. Additionally, we will be playing Riot Fest and Four Chords because we can fly in.

Thank you for your support and understanding while I support my family.”

Here’s the band’s remaining dates:

08/17 Anaheim, CA – Chain Reaction (with The Last Gang)
08/18 San Diego, CA – Soda Bar (with The Last Gang)
09/09 Pittsburgh, PA – Four Chords Fest
09/18 Chicago, IL – Riot Fest
09/25 Los Angeles, CA – Moroccan Lounge (with The Last Gang)

Poli van Dam To Miss The Bombpops’ Upcoming Tour

Poli van Dam has revealed that she will be missing the band’s upcoming tour with Bayside, Senses Fail, and Hawthorne Heights. Remmington will be filling in.

Poli van Dam issued the following statement:

“Hey, what’s up? It’s me, Poli. I have an announcement to make about the upcoming Bombpops tour with Bayside, Hawthorne Heights, and Senses Fail. Unfortunately, I will not be joining my band on this one.

In February of this year, I found out that there was going to be another BabyPop on the way, in May I miscarried. To say that this was physically and emotionally exhausting is an understatement, but it made me realize that right now I need to focus on my health and my family.

Being a Type 1 Diabetic, I’ve put my health on the backburner perhaps too often, there aren’t any regrets, but it has become clear that I need to see this through. Life on the road is grueling to say the least and I’ve had my fair share of close calls – seizures, ambulances, hospitals, oh my!

But without further ado, I’m so stoked to announce that the one and only Remmington ( @rmmngtn )will be stepping in for me on these shows and the band is going to crush it out there. They have all my support and well wishes 100%, I’m grateful they are willing to all go out there and keep our songs alive.

Thank you to everybody who has supported the band and my family throughout this journey and there’s nothing but more epicness to come. See you all soon! Xoxo Poli van D”

The Bombpops Premiere “Double Arrows Down” Music Video

The Bombpops have premiered a new video for their new song “Double Arrows Down” via AltPress. This track is from the band’s new album “Death In Venice Beach,” which will be released on March 13. Poli Van Dam commented:

“‘Double Arrows Down’” is a song I had wanted to write for a while, but it’s always been so difficult to really face it and hit the nail on the head. Diabetes is a frustrating, relentless disease. I hope fellow diabetics or anybody going through a rough circumstance can relate. We all want to give up sometimes, and I think that’s OK to admit.”

The Bombpops Premiere “Notre Dame” Music Video

The Bombpops have premiered a new video for their new song “Notre Dame.” This track is from the band’s new album “Death In Venice Beach,” which will be released on March 13.

Jen Razavi said the following about the song:

“I’ve always loved the idea of souls being here together in past lives and the notion that space and time have never really mattered. I saw Notre Dame in flames on the news and immediately sat down to write a song. It was the exact imagery I needed to convey a theme I had been exploring about knowing someone so deeply before ever meeting them. A centuries-old cathedral in flames became a perfect representation.”

Poli van Dam also added the following about the record:

“I want people to feel this dark, uneasy feeling. I went to rehab right when we were finalizing the mixes and stuff, and so listening back to the songs when I was in rehab, I’m like, ‘Oh shit, I was going through some stuff without even realizing how dark everything was and how shitty of a place I was in.”
