Vic Fuentes said the following about the album:

“This album has truly brought us closer than we’ve ever been. It was extremely difficult for us to be off the road and apart for so long. We’ve never missed anything more than playing music together and never had such an strong appreciation for recording, touring, and simply being in the same room together than we do now. ‘The Jaws Of Life’ is about how life can sink its teeth into you and try to devour you. The negativity in the world and within your mind can be a vicious thing. We’re extremely grateful for this record, our fans, and the opportunity to play live music again.”

A video for the effort’s latest single, “Emergency Contact,” can be found below. Fuentes added the following about that:

“There’s so much desperation underlying the lyrics of this song. It talks about a relationship where one person is ready to take things to the next level while the other is still unsure. One person is begging the other to either move forward or to let them out because being stuck in the middle is torture.

I wrote this song in Seattle at Mike Herrera from MXPX’s home studio. He let me live there for a couple of months while working on the record. I love writing in Seattle because it gives me all of the ’90s grunge rock vibes. Plus, it rains all the time, and I love the rain.”

Pierce The Veil Premiere “Pass The Nirvana” Music Video

Pierce The Veil have premiered a new video for their latest single “Pass The Nirvana.” You can check that out below. Vic Fuentes previously said the following about the track:

“‘Pass The Nirvana‘ is about the many horrible traumas that the youth of America have endured over the past few years. COVID, no proms, no graduations, an insurrection, school shootings. The list goes on. Their lives have been tossed around like clothes in a dryer, as the tensions within our country have infiltrated our own homes, friends, and families. To me, the song represents a euphoric detachment from all of that anxiety and stress and about finding some form of peace or nirvana.”

Fuentes commented:

“I love being a part of this foundation, because it’s so tangible and real. It’s amazing that we actually get to see — in person — the faces of the people who we are trying to help.

I’m excited to join forces with [founder and co-chairman] Scottie Somers and the entire Living The Dream Foundation team to continue their mission of inspiring hope and positivity in the lives of these people who need and deserve it most.”

Somers added:

“Vic came into the picture in the most natural way: as an artist that cared, showed empathy towards, and did all that he could do to put smiles on the faces of our Living The Dream Foundation guests.

Many guests would request to meet Vic and Pierce The Veil around the world, and evolved when Vic expressed a greater interest in doing more to help the mission. Several years after working together, I invited him to come on as an ambassador. These were just stepping stones to get to where we’re at today with Vic as CEO and co-chairman. He brings a wealth of industry knowledge, leadership skills, and great energy to our foundation. Because of this alliance, we couldn’t be happier. We will only continue to get stronger.”

Mike Fuentes To “Take A Break And Step Away” From Pierce The Veil Following Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Mike Fuentes has decided to “take a break and step away” from Pierce The Veil. This news comes after sexual misconduct allegations were made against the drummer

The following statement was issued:

“From the day we started this band, the four of us agreed that we not only wanted to write and play songs together for the rest of our lives, but we also wanted to build a strong community through our music and provide a safe place for ourselves and our fans to express our shared values through creativity, open-mindedness, love and respect. Over the last ten years we have accomplished that and so much more with the help of our incredible fans. The bond that we share in this community is stronger than we could have ever imagined and is truly our pride and joy.

Recently, an allegation was made about Mike from an anonymous source pertaining to events dating back nearly ten years ago. We are taking this allegation seriously and would like to share the steps we are taking in response. Below are a few words from Mike.

“I’m of course aware of the allegation made about me from almost ten years ago, and I cannot begin to describe how difficult and disturbing this entire situation has been for everyone involved. I do not take this allegation lightly and would never downplay it. I have empathy for any human being who has experienced abuse or mistreatment in their lives, and I am inspired to see so many come forward and speak out about it. No one should have to suffer in silence, and I am thankful that the world is finally starting to listen. I also want to assure you that I have never intentionally manipulated or abused anyone in my life. That is not the person I am, how I was raised, or the type of behavior that I condone. I strongly believe in the empowerment of abuse victims, so if I have ever made anyone feel like they are less than equal, I am sincerely sorry.

I love playing music more than anything on earth, and I am constantly humbled by the support of our fans. I do not want the allegation surrounding me to negatively affect the reputation or future of the band, or to break the bond and trust that we have created with our fans over the years. So, I have decided to take a break and step away from my position in the band in hopes that this will allow my band mates and fans to continue focusing on the music and message that Pierce The Veil stands for. Though I am far from perfect, I do have a moral compass and try to stand up for what is right. While away from the band, I will continue to work hard to live my life in that way.”

Since the allegation first surfaced, our band has discussed how we can ensure the PTV community is always a safe environment. We’ve made many efforts over the years to protect our fans, and we can and will do more. We believe in creating spaces where people can seek help for any issues they are struggling with and provide resources and tools to help.

As a band, we are respecting Mike’s decision to take break and step away. Unfortunately, without a core member of the band, we will be respectfully withdrawing from the upcoming U.K. tour with All Time Low. We promise our fans that we will be back again very soon.”
