Guitarist Tommy Church Exits Mushroomhead

Guitarist Tommy Church has announced his departure from Mushroomhead. This news comes after it was previously revealed that co-founding lead vocalist Jeffrey Nothing was leaving the group as well.

Church commented:

“It is with a heavy heart tonight I announce that I have left Mushroomhead. I will miss all the crazy, loyal and most amazing fans and family I have made over the years and you will always have a special place in my heart. I wish Mushroomhead well in turning the page to this new chapter of life. It was an amazing adventure!”

Mushroomhead are planning to continue with their upcoming tour, and have even posted a teaser for Jeffrey Nothing’s replacement.


Jeffrey Nothing Exits Mushroomhead

Mushroomhead co-founding lead vocalist Jeffrey Lewis Hetrick (aka Jeffrey Nothing, Jeffrey Hatrix) has announced his departure from the band. He said the following:

“I am coming to you today with a heavy heart to announce that I am leaving Mushroomhead. It is a decision that I did not make easily, but one I made for reasons that are best for me as an artist and musician at this juncture in my career.”

He also added that the work Mushroomhead did and the 24 years of performing and touring for “the craziest, fucking loyal and amazing fans” was a once-in-a-lifetime privilege. The band have yet to comment.

Mushroomhead Cancel Two Shows As They Prepare To Record New Album

Mushroomhead have cancelled a couple of shows so they can make some more time to record their new album. The band plan to hit the studio on December 1.

The following statement was posted:

“What up Shroom Heads!!!

Just a quick update to confirm the cancellation of Dec 23rd & Jan 6th show.
Before a bunch of you “know it all” fools start popping off at the mouth, here’s the dirt..

Skinny says…
“MRH is set to enter the studio Dec 1 to begin recording the 8th studio Lp. We’re locking ourselves in and we’re not leaving until it’s done…”

“Between the holidays and the rehearsal schedules,.. it doesn’t leave us much time to meet our recording deadlines. So we’re just gonna focus on writing the best LP of our lives”

The shows will of course be rescheduled at some point in the near future.

Mushroomhead Involved In Bus Crash

Mushroomhead got into a traffic accident while near Houston, TX. Fortunately, it seems everyone was okay. Rick ‘Stitch’ Thomas commented:

“Never a boring moment on tour! 2 cars collided in front of us on the highway just outside of Houston,Tx. We couldn’t stop and slammed into them at about 60mph. Everyone is ok, including the people in the vehicle we hit. On a charter bus now and trailer is getting towed to Scout Bar. The show must go on!!!! I’m not big on religion but someone was looking out for us today! Call your mothers!”
