Hollow Front Premiere “Treading Water” Music Video

Hollow Front have premiered a new video for their latest single “Treading Water.” You can check that out below:

Tyler Tate said the following about the song:

“It’s a song about being dragged under by the negative thoughts in your head and always feeling like you’re taking one step forward and ten steps back. It describes that feeling of drowning in your life, but always fighting and clawing your way back up to the surface, and not believing all the negative things your mind is telling you because you have a purpose to fulfil.

It’s one of my favorite songs that we’ve ever written and I’m absolutely thrilled to release it for the world to hear. ‘Treading Water’ is the first big step towards releasing the best material we’ve created this far in our careers.”

He also added the following about the video:

“It doesn’t really tie in with the theme of the lyrics for the song, per se. We just really wanted to do something exciting and completely different from our previous music videos. Creatively, we tried to branch out and create a video that the viewers couldn’t take their eyes off, with plenty of high energy and high stakes throughout, with an intense focus on the action elements.

Filming ‘Treading Water‘ was by the far the most fun we’ve had a music video shoot ever. We’ve done plenty of ‘low budget’ music videos meant to make the viewer feel the emotions of the song and the weight of the lyrics. So we really went into the process for the ‘Treading Water‘ music video making sure we were doing everything the opposite of that — if it wasn’t fun to shoot, then we weren’t doing our jobs correctly.”

Hollow Front Premiere New Song “Treading Water”

Hollow Front Premiere New Video For “Falling Apart” Featuring Fit For A King’s Ryan Kirby

Hollow Front have released a new version of “Falling Apart” featuring Fit For A King’s Ryan Kirby. The updated take on the track is available on the vinyl reissue of the band’s latest album “Loose Threads.”

Vocalist Tyler Tate commented:

“It’s an extremely dark song about my views of the world we live in today. From where I’ve been standing, especially during/after 2020, it’s become impossible to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you’re constantly surrounded by the negativity our world has been seemingly plagued with.

In reference to the title, I think the fabric of humanity is falling apart, ravaged by greed, disease, and an utter lack of empathy for our fellow man. We’re a complicated species, with all the capabilities to create a peaceful and harmonious world, but instead we use our powers to destroy and divide… and while my views of the world may be morose, I don’t have much “faith” in humanity doing the right thing. While I truly hope it happens, I won’t be holding my breath.”

Tate also added the following about working with Kirby:

“We’ve been working together for over two years now and without Ryan we definitely wouldn’t be where we are today. Having him hop on ‘Falling Apart‘ to guest feature for this re-release of the song was a real treat for us. Everyone in the band have been huge fans of FFAK, and a lot of HF’s original sound came from being inspired by Kirby and his band’s work. It feels like it’s come full circle in a way and we couldn’t be more proud to have someone like Ryan in our corner.”

In other news, Hollow Front are also recording a new album at Atrium Audio.
