Arkaik Premiere “Wayward Opulence” Music Video

Arkaik have premiered a new video for their new song “Wayward Opulence.” This track is from the band’s new album “Labyrinth Of Hungry Ghosts,“ which will be released on March 11. The group commented:

“We’re excited to bring you our first single offering, ‘Wayward Opulence‘. As part of the album’s concept, this song addresses the self-destructive nature of overindulging in vanity and ego. Serving as a reminder that our greatest enemy might not be external, but internal.”

Arkaik Sign With The Artisan Era, Premiere New Song “Supernal Flame”

Arkaik have announced that they have signed a new deal with The Artisan Era. With this news, the band have also released a new single titled “Supernal Flame.”

Frontman Jared Christianson commented:

“It’s definitely a massive honor to be a part of The Artisan Era family. They have consistently been putting out forward-thinking, top-tier progressive metal and we feel like its the perfect fit for Arkaik. The enthusiasm from supporters of the label is also extremely humbling to be a part of. It’s really exciting for us because its also a new era in the band, so couldn’t be more stoked to be working with them now.

We’re still pretty deep into writing the next album, but we wanted to put out a new song with this announcement. We picked a song that we felt would be a good fit for a single and went to our trusted audio engineering wizard Zack Ohren in Oakland. He engineered and mixed the song and we got our friend Mendel bij de Leij (ex-Aborted) to master the track. They were a perfect combo to be working on this song and they nailed it.

Lyrically the song ties all our previous concept albums together into one song. It acts as an overview of the entire journey of Cyrix, through the last three albums, up until now, and points to where we are going next. We’ve never done a stand-alone single like this, so I felt like it would be a cool opportunity to tell the story as best I can in one song…”

Arkaik Stream New Song “Order Of The Hierogon” Feat. Psycroptic’s Joe Haley

Arkaik are streaming a new track titled “Order Of The Hierogon.” This song features a guest solo from Psycroptic’s Joe Haley, and it will appear on their new album “Nemethia.” That effort will be released on September 29 via Unique Leader Records.

The band said the following:

“We really wanted to push our writing with this one, try some new things and challenge ourselves into making a massive track that explores the spectrum of our sound all in one song. We had the rare opportunity to work with Joe Haley from Psycroptic on a tasty guest solo and it came out better than we could have imagined.

As for the concept of the song as it relates to the story, Cyrix stumbles into a hidden territory called The City Of Secrets. He is introduced to a banished order of outsiders, mystics, sages, psychic warriors, historians, and oracles that preserve the lineage of knowledge contained within the ‘Order Of The Hierogon.’ Once welcomed into the inner circle of this mysterious group who seemed to have foreknowledge of his arrival, Cyrix is bestowed with mental and physical tools and training to make his passage through the Nexion Stargate, which takes place at the end of the album.

We created the word ‘Hierogon’ to describe a mystical navigation device that Cyrix inherits from his new allies. It is the ‘holy grail’ of the order. The Arkaik symbol you see in the beginning of this video is a visual representation of the Hierogon.”

Arkaik Stream New Song “Occultivation”, Reveal Details For New Album “Nemethia”

Arkaik are streaming a new track tilted “Occultivation.” This song is from their new album “Nemethia,” which will be released on September 29 via Unique Leader Records. That effort features drums from Gabe Seeber (The Kennedy Veil), as well as the following guests: Psycroptic’s Joe Haley, Arde Ostowari (Burning The Masses), Craig Peters (ex-Arkaik) and Stephen Paulson (San Francisco Symphony Orchestra).

Jared Christianson said the following about the album:

“This album fully sets the stage and builds on the story we started developing two albums ago with Cyrix and Metamorphignition. We’ve begun weaving together our own mythos of synchronicity and symbolism to encapsulate and distill the journey of the alchemist through the gnostic dream. It attempts to reveal through storytelling and allegory that we can experience real freedom and discover the inner treasures that guide us to who, what, and where we want to be, if we are willing to pull back the veil of lies blinding us from the truth of our nature.

If I could sum up everything we’ve done so far, my personal journey and our message as a band in three words it would be the lyric ‘pain to power’ from the song ‘Telegnosis.’ To me, it’s about transmuting your struggles into strengths and refining your personal power and will. I really enjoyed making this album and hope people dig it!”

Greg Paulson added:

“This is the most involved I’ve been on an Arkaik record so far. The songs are more thought out and meticulously crafted. I wanted to retain the sonic brutality Arkaik is known for, while introducing new elements to further expand on the band’s sound. I incorporated greater symphonic instrumentation throughout the record and utilized my classical background to add more depth and dynamics to the arrangements.

The album is overall more complex, I even added some harmonized vocals to blend with Jared‘s voice, making for some interesting layered textures. This is sure to be the most unique Arkaik album to date. I’m really proud of what we created and hope people enjoy it.”
