    Five more bands have been added to next year’s edition of the ShipRocked cruise. That event will take place aboard the Carnival Horizon as it sails from Miami, Florida to Roatan, Honduras and Cozumel, Mexico on January 24-30.   • John Carpenter Shares New Metal Track “The Ferryman”

    John Carpenter (“Halloween”, etc.) is streaming “The Ferryman” from his new metal album/graphic novel “Cathedral.” You can check that out below. The comic will be released on August 4. The record will follow on August 7. Guitarist Daniel Davies commented:

    “I like that one because it really seems to feature all three of us in a special way. It has interesting harmonies that Cody put together and John’s signature pad-style string parts. It’s more of an electronic metal track in a way, but we just wanted to make it as heavy and driving as possible.“

  • Silent Planet Added To 2026 Upheaval Festival And Rock Fest

    Silent Planet have been added to the July 17 date of this year’s Rock Fest in Cadott, WI and the July 18 date of this year’s Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids, MI. The band said the following:

    “Last-minute fest announce! We are back in the United States and happy to let you know that we’ve been invited to play Rock Fest and Upheaval Fest. We’ve been assured that attack drones will not be included, but we’ll keep ‘Panopticon’ on the set list just in case. What other songs should we include? We promise to be the loudest levitating object you hear all weekend”

  • Yungblud: “The Amount Of Hate And Disbelief Around Me From Strangers On The Internet Or Bitter Musicians Really Weighs On My Heart”

    Yungblud has issued a statement regarding mental health struggles he suffered amid various industry plant accusations. He says “the amount of hate and disbelief around [him] from strangers on the internet or bitter musicians really weighs on [his] heart.”

    Yungblud said the following during a vulnerable moment at BLUDFEST in Hradec Králové, Czechia:

    “Lately I have felt so disconnected from everything. I have been trying my best to wake up every day. I have felt in pain a lot and I don’t know why for a long time. But every time I find your faces, every time I find your eyes, every time I look at you, I know that I belong somewhere.

    To feel safe from the outside world is something that I can never thank you enough for. And all I want to say is that this is your family and if you are ever scared, if you are ever frightened, if you are ever threatened, we will be there. I will fucking be there for you.”

    He then followed up via social media:

    “Honestly, I’ve been debating whether or not I should post this clip because I don’t want it to feel disingenuous like I’m doing it for a reason like clicks or personal game but at the end of the day this is what happened and it’s genuine so I thought fuck it.

    To be truthful. Recently, I’ve been really struggling and this moment is a byproduct of my body releasing the wave of emotion that has hit me in the past year that I’ve been unable to process. I’m not gonna lie to you when I got off this stage I felt elated but 20 minutes later when I was in the shower on my own I had a breakdown.

    Being an artist in this day and age is so strange because everything moves so quickly. You never get to sit in what happens for more than a couple hours therefore you fail to navigate or process anything you feel both good or bad at all.

    In the past 10 years I’ve been on a million different journeys tried a million different sounds trying to figure out who I am or what I can mean to the world everyday whilst the world shouts back.

    The amount of hate and disbelief around me from strangers on the internet or bitter musicians really weighs on my heart as all I’ve been trying to do for the past 10 years is spread love, build something I believe in and unify people in a safe space.

    I should really say nothing about this because it would makes me seem cooler and like it isn’t affecting me but deep down but I don’t think that’s who I am or why we all connect to each other.

    I read an article yesterday morning that felt validating to me. It’s strange because the press don’t usually like to compliment me. Writers and influencers get more clicks out of negativity around me. I don’t complain about it because I think that’s just the space that I take up for them, that’s the kind of artist I am and that’s the way of the world.

    This article said ‘Yungblud isn’t an industry plant. The internet just missed the grind.’ This made me feel happy. I think when things appear to happen so quickly and you get millions of eyes upon you that didn’t know you existed there two hours before of course it feels unbelievable, of course it feels disingenuous, of course it feels inauthentic.

    I think that’s why I’m so grateful to have all of you. We relish in a journey together that started nearly 10 years ago in 100 seater venue upstairs in Amsterdam. I think this is why I got so emotional when I saw 20,000 of you in a field in Czechia on a festival we started from scratch two years ago in the UK now it’s first International year.

    We’ve been moving so fast that I haven’t really been able to process anything at all but in this moment my emotions got the better of me. I needed that. Thank you for providing a space that makes me feel safe enough where I could express myself truly. This community is created by us, for all of us.

    I think the most beautiful thing about this festival is that WE built it. This place is a house that is ours. Here, I feel like I’m like standing in front of my girlfriend or my mother. I can’t hold it in. I can’t hold anything back. I can’t be ’professional.’ I can’t hide.

    Right now, deep down, I know I need to do a bit of work on myself to process everything I’m feeling and attain the a strength I need to keep going at this pace as we move into another chapter together. I feel good about the next couple months before I hibernate and take the time to prioritise that work.

    To all my beautiful community reading this I just want to let you know how lucky I feel to have you all. This day reminded me of why I do this and how special what we have is. I love you with all my heart and I am truly thankful. What an honour it is to spend this life with you.

  • Evanescence Frontwoman Amy Lee: “The Rock And Metal Sisterhood Is Amazing Because It’s An Ever-Growing Group”

    During a recent appearance on The Mistress Carrie Podcast, Evanescence singer Amy Lee opened up about the bond women share in the rock and metal scene. She says “the rock and metal sisterhood is amazing because it’s an ever-growing group.”

    Lee said the following:

    “We [Evanescence] had… I forget which chart — I guess it was the Active Rock or whatever, we had the Number One slot. And The Pretty Reckless had Number Two. And, I was like, ‘How badass is that?’ Like, absolutely ruling it. Women on top. It’s really cool.

    I need the women in my life. I love the sisterhood, and the rock and metal sisterhood is amazing because it’s an ever-growing group. It really is. But we all support and push each other, because we want there to be more open-mindedness and inclusivity in general and all of those things. We all also have a really high standard. If you’re gonna make it that far, it can’t be about being a woman. That’s not gonna get you there. It’s gotta be you’re really hardworking and talented. Like they say in New York, the proof is in the puddin’, right? So you just gotta bring it. That’s the way to make it work.”

    She also discussed Evanescence’s current tour, which features all women-fronted bands:

    “This tour has been such a cool moment and statement for that exact thing, women supporting women, women in heavy music. We’ve got the Nova Twins and Spiritbox on this tour with us. We’ll have Poppy and the Nova Twins, and then also K.Flay on the next couple [of runs]. So we’re doing ‘Fight Like A Girl’ every night and having all the girls get up on one song, and it is just the most… It’s just the sweetest moment. It really is.

    How cool is it, too, to show the support? Because I really feel like one of the tools that used to be used in not-so-distant history to keep us down was always sort of show and joke about this idea that we’re all fighting each other behind the scenes, that there can only be one and catfights and that whole ridiculous ‘we’re just gonna try to tear each other down’ thing, which is just not how it is. And the more, I think, women see that that’s not how it is, the more accepted they can imagine that they will be when they get here.”

  • Kid Rock Says His Friendship With Donald Trump Gives Him “A Front-Row Seat To The Greatest Shit Show On Earth”

    During a recent interview with Sky News Australia, Kid Rock discussed his friendship with U.S. president and convicted felon Donald Trump. According to him, the relationship offers him “a front-row seat to the greatest shit show on Earth.”

    Rock said the following when asked what it’s like “having a buddy who’s running the world”:

    “Fucking awesome [Laughs]. Yeah, it’s one of my late-night drinking tricks. ‘Cause I know when to get him. And he’s so gracious. He always picks up. Or he’ll call and check in, just to shoot the shit most of the time. He’s not calling me to, like, ‘Hey, what should we do in Iran, Bob?’ I don’t get those calls. But I was sitting around having some beers. It’s, like, 11:00, 12:00 on a Friday or Saturday. I know he’s up. He sleeps like me — he sleeps like five hours. And I’ll be, like, ‘Hey, let’s call the President and bullshit.’ And people will be, like, ‘What?’ And he’ll be, like, ‘Hey, Bob, what’s up?’ And blah, blah, blah. It’s the best. I enjoy the hell out of hanging out with him and talking with him and just having a front-row seat to the greatest shit show on Earth.”

    He also claimed that Trump puts America first:

    “It kills me, the people that don’t see that. They want this level of bullshit we’ve had for — since I’ve been alive, with these politicians, presidents. They’re, like, ‘Well, he’s making so much money while he’s president.’ Like, no shit, ’cause he’s a businessman. He’s smart. He did that before he was president. And I know his heart and soul, his concern is for this country — period. This country first. And I think every leader in any country should be that for their country.”

  • Corey Feldman Ruled Out Working With Mike Patton Over Alleged “Cult Stuff”

    During an appearance on Jamie Kennedy‘s “Hate To Break It To Ya” podcast, Corey Feldman revealed that Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst will be guesting on his new song “Paranoia [I’m Not Trippin].” He went on to say he wanted to work with Faith No More’s Mike Patton, but changed his mind due to alleged “cult stuff.”

    Feldman said the following [via The PRP]:

    “Fred [Durst] and I have a new song… I put out a teaser for it. It’s sick. I’ll play it for you in the car if you want. It’s really sick, dude. It’s really good. I got like this monster rock band. We have like a supergroup of like monster rockers and they’re all on, you know, they’re all playing. And I got like Robin Diaz from from Puddle Of Mudd and like actually one of Manson‘s guys, a lap pedal player, or pedal steel, sorry, player, who’s doing some stuff on it. It was just this really eclectic group… But yeah, really cool. Really badass song that I did. And I just kind of sat in on it. It was a bunch of guys that were working on a jam and they were like, ‘We need a melody.’ So I just sat down and I wrote a melody really fast. And then I was like, ‘But I hear it as like a rock-rap song, so it needs a really good rapper.’

    And they were like, ‘Well, who do you think?’ And I was l going through the names and I actually thought of Mike Patton. He was the one that I wanted first, and I’m a fan of his work, but he’s a little bit tied to, you know, those things that I…”

    He continued when Kennedy interjected to ask if there’s “smoke” around Patton:

    “Not smoke. Just the the stuff you’re talking about, the cult stuff. Yeah. So, it looked a little dark. So, I was like, I don’t think that’s the best marriage. But I like his work, but just not his message, maybe. So, anyway, so I thought, well, that might be a little dark. So, then I was like, ‘Who’s a great rapper that’s not going to go dark on me? Oh, I know, Fred!’

    So, I called Fred and I said, ‘I got this new jam. What do you think?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, I don’t know. Let’s uh let’s hear it.’ So, I sent it to him. He’s like, ‘Dude, that’s badass.’ I was like, ‘All right, you want to do it?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, let’s do it.’ I was like, ‘All right.’”

    Feldman didn’t explain his “cult” accusation, but it’s worth noting that him and Kennedy were discussing satanic cults prior to the comment. He also claimed people in Hollywood are “worshipping an ancient deity named Baal.” The duo brought up a number of other conspiracies as well including ties between Satanism and NASA, a painting of U.S. President George Washington as a “satanic figure,” etc. They also claimed some rock artists practice Satanism, but others only use the imagery for show.
