The effort will include three new songs, along with excerpts from the bassist’s autobiography “Fathers, Brothers, and Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, and Anthrax.” The excerpts will be narrated and scored by Bello.

“Then I’m Gone” Track Listing:

Side A:

01. “Then I’m Gone”
02. “It Won’t Be Long”
03. “See Me Now”

Side B:

01. “First Kiss”
02. “Compass Point”
03. “See Me Now” (Revisited)

Bello commented:

“I revisited some really dark times in my life when I was writing my book, and writing these songs was the result of reliving them. Music has always been a great outlet for me as a coping mechanism. I felt it was a good time to put out these songs for people who connected with the book and maybe some who haven’t yet. Thanks for listening!”

Frank Bello (Anthrax) Working On Solo Album

During a recent appearance on Todd Kerns’ video podcast, Frank Bello (Anthrax) revealed that he is working on a new solo album. According to him, the material will “be rock and roll with a heavier edge to it.”

Bello said the following:

“Just before COVID hit, I was actually gonna go and record a couple of songs with a producer. And COVID hit, and I kind of backed out. It really hit New York in January and February. I had studio time booked and we were gonna do it, and long story short, I just felt weird. All the musicians involved, we all just decided, ‘You know what? Let’s hold this until we’re a little more clear about what’s going on.'”

“I had some great, great players play on it. And it’s even better now, because I can even write more right now. So let it simmer.”

He also added the following about the musical direction:

“It’s funny, because it’s sounding a lot like ALTITUDES & ATTITUDE [Bello’s side project with MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson]. It is more in that vein — heavy rock and roll… I grew up on this stuff. It’ll be rock and roll with a heavier edge to it, and that’s fine, ’cause that’s what I’m into.”
