Doom Side Of The Moon Announce Mini-Tour

The Sword guitarist Kyle Shutt’s Pink Floyd tribute band, Doom Side Of The Moon have announced a min-tour. Shutt said the following about that:

“Taking Doom Side Of The Moon on the road, and to the sky for that matter for these fly in dates, is certainly the biggest project I’ve ever attempted, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. I can only imagine what Pink Floyd felt like taking a show like ‘The Wall‘ on the road. Those guys had such astounding ambition, I hope I do them justice by putting on the best tribute I can to their timeless catalog.”

Tour Dates:

11/30 Austin, TX – Emo’s
12/01 Dallas, TX – Gas Monkey Live!
12/03 Denver, CO – Bluebird Theater
12/04 Brooklyn, NY – Warsaw

The Sword’s Kyke Shutt To Release Doom Side Of The Moon Pink Floyd Tribute Album In August, Streams Cover Of “Money”

The Sword’s Kyle Shutt has put together a new album paying tribute to Pink Floyd‘s “The Dark Side Of The Moon.” The effort, which also features his bandmates from The Sword, Bryan Richie and Santiago Vela III, along with Alex Marrero (Brownout, Brown Sabbath), Jason Grey (Black Joe Lewis) and Joe Cornetti (Croy & The Boys), will be released on August 4 under the name Doom Side Of The Moon. You can preorder it HERE and listen to a cover of “Money” below:

Shutt commented:

“The idea came to me after getting baked and wanting to hear a heavy version of ‘Time‘. I thought, why not just cover the whole album? After sitting down and working out some loose concepts, the arrangement for ‘Money‘ materialized and I realized that I could totally do this if I assembled the right band. It felt a little strange messing with someone’s legacy, but I’m treating it as a celebration of one of the greatest bands to ever rock, a party that everyone is invited to.”

Shutt plans to perform the effort in full at Emo’s in Austin, TX on August 5.
