Alesana Postpone Remaining Dates On “The Emptiness” 10th Anniversary Tour Due To Positive COVID-19 Test Within Their Camp

Alesana have postponed the remaining dates on their “The Emptiness“ 10th anniversary tour due to a positive COVID-19 test within their camp. Ironically, this news comes after the band previously cancelled two dates after taking issue with COVID-19 safety protocols that were put in place at the venues. The group commented:

“Hello everyone – unfortunately our camp was exposed and we experienced a positive test. This is obviously very disappointing news and means we have to postpone the remainder of our tour. Our number one priority at this point is getting rested and well. We will get the remaining dates rescheduled for some time in the future. We look forward to putting all of this in the rear view mirror and to getting back out on the road.”

Alesana Cancel Two Shows After Taking Issue With COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Alesana have cancelled their August 14 show at Red Flag in St. Louis, MO and their August 15 show at Exit/In in Nashville, TN after taking issue with COVID-19 safety protocols that were put in place at the venues. This includes common sense practices like having attendees showing proof of vaccination or negative tests.

Alesana said the following:

“We are in unprecedented times as a music community in the face of a pandemic.

The nature of safety, both for everyone personally and for the music community as a whole, has become an issue that no one could have foreseen and yet we are forced to deal with.

The other issue that can’t be dismissed is everyone’s right to choose what they think is best for themselves, their bodies, and their families.

When this tour was booked we were on a downward trend of infection and we made certain to play venues that were inclusive and permitted all attendees to come to the show, allowing all individuals to assess risk on their own and make a decision they were comfortable with.

That is no longer the case and, after a lot of thought, we have decided to pull some shows that are no longer allowing that autonomy.

We have no ill will towards the venues. We definitely understand and appreciate their right to set their own guidelines, but we too have a choice as to what restrictions are placed on our fans.

The subject of the coronavirus has been about as divisive as it can get. Alesana’s members have opinions on all sides of the spectrum when it comes to the pandemic, but we do agree that how every individual feels, and the decisions they make for themselves, are personal choices and it’s not our place to enforce penalties on people who choose one way or the other.

We encourage everyone to practice the safety measures that make you comfortable and remember that there is currently an inherent risk by attending a concert which you must accept if you want to see live music. That choice belongs to you.

We love all of you and hope for nothing but good health in the Alesana Army, but we will not be the arbiters of who can and can’t see us based on their choices for their personal health.

For those fans unable to see us as a result of these cancellations, we’re sorry the situation is what it is and hopefully we can make it up to you once the pandemic is in the rear view mirror.”

Here’s the band’s remaining dates:

Alesana Premiere New Song “Madeline”

Alesana have premiered a new song titled “Madeline.” This track is from the band’s “The Lost Chapters“ EP, which will be available on March 30.

Shawn Milke commented:

“‘Madeline is a lost chapter from Confessions, the third and final installment to the Annabel Trilogy. The song focuses on the titular character as she finds herself barely escaping the clutches of The Puppeteer while searching for her parents in the confusing and surreal world of the tesseract.

For any fan of Annabel and her story, this song fills in a really cool gap. Musically, it has the same abstract and high energy vibe as the rest of Confessions.”

Alesana Premiere “Fits And Starts” Video

Alesana have premiered a new video for “Fits And Starts.” The song is from the band’s “The Lost Chapters“ EP, which is available in their “Origins” set.

Alesana commented:

“This music video means a great deal to us. For years, we have had fans tell us that Alesana has saved their lives. Every time I hear those words, I am rendered speechless. To have such a profound effect on somebody through music and art is incredibly humbling. So many have shared stories of survival and perseverance with us.

‘Fits And Starts‘ is our way of saying thank YOU for all YOU have done for us. Thank you for being so open and honest with us. Thank you for sharing your pain, your fears, your hopes, your failures, your successes. We are all in this life together and we should never be afraid to lean on each other. The song is about it being okay to be afraid. It is okay to not know what to do all the time; but we must keep trying. We do not give up. We ask for help if we need it.

Positivity is not about ignoring the negative it is about finding ways to overcome it. In the video, you are invited into the world of someone who is writing down their thoughts and then singing it to no-one. This person eventually finds the strength to step back and look to someone for help. It is not about saying farewell and giving up, it is about saying farewell TO giving up. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who contributed to this video. PMA.”

The band are also selling a new shirt, with a portion of the proceeds going towards the suicide prevention charity Hope For The Day.
