Sacred Reich “Have Four To Five To Nine New Songs In The Works”

During a recent interview with Overdrive, Sacred Reich’s Phil Rind offered an update on the band’s new album. According to him, the group currently “have four to five to nine new songs in the works.”

Rind said the following:

“We probably have four to five to nine new songs in the works, and we actually were looking into booking a studio to record, but things didn’t work out that way. We’re excited to finish up [our European] tour [with SEPULTURA], and then I’m guessing that in 2023 we’ll eventually get back into the studio and start recording a new album.”

He also added:

“At the moment, they are just demos and ideas. It’s far too early to let anyone hear them, especially on this tour. We need to do a lot more work on them before we get to that point.”

Sacred Reich Cancel European Festival Appearances

Sacred Reich have cancelled several European festival dates due to guitarist Wiley Arnett requiring surgery for a recent injury. The band commented:

“We are sorry that we will not be playing Copenhell, Graspop or Hellfest this year. Wiley has an injury that requires surgery. He will make a full recovery but not in time for these shows. Sorry to disappoint our fans looking forward to seeing us at these great festivals but we hope to see you at one of the shows in the future. Thank you for your understanding. Sacred Reich”

Sacred Reich Cancel More Shows Due To Phil Rind’s “Respiratory Illness”

Sacred Reich have been forced to cancel more shows as Phil Rind continues to recover from a non-COVID-19-related illness. The band are hoping to return to the stage on March 28 in New Orleans, LA.

Rind issued the following statement yesterday (March 23):

“Tour update

Unfortunately due to the ongoing respiratory illness I am experiencing Sacred Reich will not be playing tonight in Greensboro. We are truly sorry.

The nature of my recovery is uncertain. The doctors in the hospital said I have three different viruses along with my asthma and it’s just going to take time. We are committed to finishing the tour. We have all been waiting for too long to give up now. So all we can do is take it day by day.

I feel confident that this will pass and we will rejoin our friends Sepultura, Crowbar and Art of Shock. I just can’t say when.

Thank you all for your love, prayers, well wishes and concern. It is greatly appreciated.

The band then shared a new update today (March 24):

“Update

Unfortunately we will not be playing tonight in Atlanta and will be unable to play the shows in Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa this weekend. We apologize to our fans looking forward to these shows. We are very disappointed. We are hoping we can rejoin the tour in New Orleans. Once again our sincerest apologies.

Sacred Reich’s Phil Rind Hospitalized, Two Shows Cancelled

Sacred Reich frontman Phil Rind was recently hospitalized due to a non-COVID-19-related illness. As a result, the band were forced to cancel their shows in Philadelphia, PA and Baltimore, MD.

Rind commented:

“Hi everyone, I have been battling a non-Covid illness since last Sunday in Pittsburgh. I have been doing my best every night because as they say ‘the show must go on’ even though my asthma has been getting progressively worse.

I went to the hospital this morning in Philadelphia and have been admitted. As a result Sacred Reich will not be performing tonight in Philadelphia or tomorrow night in Baltimore on the Quadra Tour with Sepultura, Crowbar and Art Of Shock.

We are very disappointed to let you down. It sucks.

Have a great time at the shows and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Sacred Reich Frontman Phil Rind’s Wife Recovering From Brain Injury, GoFundMe Campaign Launched

Sacred Reich frontman Phil Rind has revealed that his wife Sandy is currently recovering from a brain injury. You can help her out with medical bills by donating via GoFundMe.

Rind commented:

“On Monday morning, March 22nd I went into our bedroom to wake Sandy up. She was unresponsive. I dialed 911 and they rushed her to the hospital. She was in septic shock and suffering from hypoxia (lack of oxygen). Her blood pressure was crashing. Her brain, heart, kidneys and liver were not working. Her entire body was shutting down. Sandy was pretty close to death. The neurologist didn’t think she would wake up. Sandy spent two weeks in the ICU. She was in very critical condition.

After a week, to the surprise of the neurologists, Sandy did wake up! For us it was nothing short of a miracle.

Sandy has been a critical care nurse for over 15 years. She has worked in trauma, ICU, rapid response team, Neuro ICU and the ER. She is a total badass! She has been saving lives and caring for others for a long time. Her strength, courage and compassion have guided her life. I believe those same traits helped her to survive.

Sandy has been in the hospital for six weeks so far. She will be moved to a rehab facility when she leaves the hospital. Extensive physical, occupational and neurological rehab will be required.

For the time being Sandy needs complete care. She is speaking a bit but it is difficult. She cannot feed herself and is on a puree diet. She will need to relearn how to walk.

The positive news is that Sandy IS improving, but still has a very long way to go. Progress will not be measured in days or weeks, but months and months.

We are reaching out for help with the mounting medical bills and for what will be a long, arduous road to recovery.

We greatly appreciate anything you can give. No donation is too small. We know a lot of people are struggling right now.

Sacred Reich’s Phil Rind has taken to social media to blast Donald Trump supporters, who took part in the treasonous insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. The frontman says “the dumb, racist assholes who invaded the Capitol did it to support the dumb, racist lying President.”

Rind said the following:

“I can’t believe how many people still don’t get it. It’s like a lot of you have never read our lyrics or understood them.

We know that our political system is rotten to the core. No news there. But the dumb, racist assholes who invaded the Capitol did it to support the dumb, racist lying President. No other reason.

They are not trying to save America, they are destroying it for a reality show TV host who will go down as the worst President in history.

If you are part of the Trump cult feel free to unfollow. We couldn’t give a fuck.

If you can’t see the white supremacy that permeates this country I suggest you open your eyes and take a hard look. Read the book ‘White Fragility’. But if you dont see it, it’s probably because you don’t want to. Maybe you should go listen to ‘One Nation’.”

He later added:

“If you can’t see the difference between BLACK LIVES MATTER standing up for unarmed black people being shot by police for decades across this country and armed white nationalist domestic terrorists storming the Capitol to stop an election in support of a dumb, racist, lying President then by all means UNFOLLOW, UNLIKE, DON’T SUPPORT…WHATEVER.

It doesn’t matter.

We stand for the truth. We support BLM, because BLACK LIVES MATTER AS MUCH AS WHITE LIVES.

We support any and all that stand up to fascism no matter where it rears it’s ugly head.

We support the workers, the unions, the organizers, the activists fighting for working and oppressed people around the globe.

We stand with the LGBTQ community and all marginalized people who have the right to be and live exactly as they choose.

We oppose corrupt governments and the politicians who line their pockets at the expense of the people they are supposed to represent.
