Aggronautix have launched pre-orders for a new limited edition Throbblehead figure based on Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzén. The figure will be available in late 2021 or early 2022.
Refused will be commemorating the 25th anniversary of “Songs To Fan The Flames Of Discontent” this year and the band are seeking live recordings, photos, flyers, etc. from that era to use as part of the celebration. They said the following about that:
“This beast of a record turns 25 this year. To celebrate and commemorate we are looking for anything related to the record. Live-recordings, photos, flyers, reviews, poster and so on. If you have anything and you want to help out please send whatever you have to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be forever grateful.”
Refused have premiered a new song titled “Black Dog.” The track was recorded under the name Samurai for the new video game “Cyberpunk 2077,” which is set to be released on December 10.
Refused have premiered a new video for their song “Malfire.” This track will appear on the band’s new EP “The Malignant Fire,“ which is set to be released on Friday (November 20).
Refused have premiered a new video for “Born On The Outs.“ The track is a reworked cover of Swedish House Mafia‘s “Greyhound“ and it will appear on the band’s new EP “The Malignant Fire“ (out November 20).
Dennis Lyxzén said the following about “Born On The Outs”:
“Kris [Steen] has talked about the riff in the Swedish House Mafia song ‘Greyhound‘ forever, so we decided to give it our own spin. David [Sandström] and I added some lyrics for this version, which we’ve called ‘Born On The Outs.’ Make no mistake though; this is very much ‘Greyhound.’ But with added lyrics about people who refused to take a side in the ongoing fight against fascism. So, you know, another ordinary Refused song.”
He also added the following about the EP:
“There are certain traditions within the Refused camp and one of the sturdiest is the idea that after every album there comes an EP. This time, however, I think that we outdid ourselves. ‘Malfire‘ is my favorite song of the record so it’s more than fitting that we shine some extra light on that.
This EP was supposed to be something that was released before a tour but in these weird times that tour never happened. However, this still a great EP that follows a great record. More than ever, we need music to lead the way when things are the darkest. Here’s a little attempt from us.”
Refused have announced that they will be releasing a new EP titled “The Malignant Fire” on November 20. The effort’s first single “Born On The Outs“ can be streamed below. Here’s the full track listing:

Refused have officially cancelled their fall European tour due to the coronavirus pandemic. Despite this, there is some good news as the band have also confirmed that new music is in the works.
Refused said the following:
“Hey everyone, unfortunately due to the ongoing restrictions imposed by COVID, we have no choice but to cancel our upcoming EU tour dates that were scheduled for Sept. Ticket holders should contact their point of purchase for refunds.
Whilst we are frustrated to have not been able to play live for you this year, it has allowed us to focus on releasing some new new music. On Sat Aug 29th, as part of Record Store Day, we will be releasing a limited edition vinyl of the session with did at Maida Vale Studios for our friends at the BBC Radio One Rock Show last year. Titled ‘Not Fit For Broadcast- Live At The BBC’, it will be available exclusively on vinyl that day and will feature all the songs we recorded for that session (including one that’s not been aired).
Additionally, we have also be working on more new music that we are incredibly excited about and will have more info on that really soon. In the meantime, stay safe and healthy!”
Refused have premiered a new song titled “A Like Supreme.” The track was recorded under the name Samurai for the new video game “Cyberpunk 2077,” which is set to be released on November 19.
Refused have premiered a new song titled “The Ballad Of Buck Ravers.” The track was recorded under the name Samurai for the new video game “Cyberpunk 2077” (out November 19).
Refused have cancelled their European tour due to the coronavirus pandemic. The band commented:
“Due to the continued situation with COVID 19, we regret to announce that our planned shows in May, both headline and our performance at Slam Dunk Festival in the UK, have been cancelled. Sadly, the revised Slam Dunk date is not one Refused can commit to. It goes without saying that the situation with COVID 19 is ever evolving and we will keep you posted as to how/if it will affect any future Refused performances. In the meantime, please stay safe, isolated and healthy.”
