This year’s Music Midtown festival at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA has officially been cancelled. The event was previously scheduled to take place on September 17-18 with My Chemical Romance, Jack White, Fall Out Boy, A Day To Remember, etc. set to perform. According to Billboard, the festival was scrapped due to the “Safe Carry Protection Act,” which prevents organizers from banning guns at the city-owned venue. The following statement was issued:

We were looking forward to reuniting in September and hope we can all get back to enjoying the festival together again soon.
