Metal Allegiance, feat. Phil Demmel (Machine Head), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus), Mark Menghi, Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), Mike Portnoy, Steve “Zetro” Souza (Exodus), Ryan Waste (Municipal Waste), etc.), Otep, and Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, have confirmed that their two Metal Maya sets will be tributes for Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) and Cliff Burton (Metallica). Menghi commented:

“We couldn’t come to Mexico during Dia de los Muertos and not honor such a sacred event ourselves. Lemmy and Cliff were the first two to come to mind. They were both major influences in not only our lives and careers, but millions of others’ as well. We played our first Metal Allegiance show on Motörhead’s Motörboat, and will be forever grateful to the man. These two were and will forever be legends. Metal Maya is in for some really killer moments!”

The event will take place October 29 – November 2 at the Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun, just south of Cancun in Puerto Morelos on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. This will be a special metal-themed vacation with all kinds of other activities to help celebrate Halloween and the Day Of The Dead.
