Belphegor Premiere “Virtus Asinaria – Prayer” Music Video

Belphegor have premiered a new video for their new song “Virtus Asinaria – Prayer.” This track is from the band’s new album “The Devils,” which will be released on June 24. Helmuth Lehner commented:

“Our new video for the track ‘Virtus Asinaria – Prayer‘ pairs Belphegor‘s bizarre live procession with an intimate ritual of sulfur, passion & blood. For he shall rise, heretic goat of flesh & lust! It stands for what Belphegor has always stood: liberty and the everlasting spiritual & bodily manifestation of carnal sin upon this rotten world!”

Belphegor, Suffocation, & Hate Cancel European Tour

Belphegor, Suffocation, and Hate have cancelled their upcoming European tour. That trek was supposed to kickoff next month with Necrosy, Skaphos, Devils Rage, and Blasphemous Creation set to open on select dates. Suffocation commented:

“We’re saddened to announce that despite the efforts of all team members, due to the global COVID restrictions continuing to tighten and the unknown factors moving forward we are forced to cancel our European co-headliner with Belphegor. We will be continuing to watch the situation regarding restrictions and when the time is right, plan our return to the EU Territory. Refunds for all tickets purchased are available through the point of purchase.”

Belphegor Share Music Video For New Medley Of “Blutsabbath” Tracks

Belphegor have shared an age-restricted video for a new “Blutsabbath” medley called “Blackest Sabbath 1997.” This news comes as the band are preparing to re-release “Blutsabbath” and “The Last Supper” on January 14. Helmuth Lehner commented:

“We’ve rearranged and re-recorded a medley of two songs off the ‘Blutsabbath‘ album [1997] as a promotional single for the re-release of our first two full-length LPs due 14th January 2022 in double CD and single LP formats. Florian Klein, aka Torturer, tracked the drums, and the ‘Blackest Sabbath 1997” was mixed & mastered at Jens Bogren´s Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden. It was a thrilling experiment to re-record this song I wrote in 1996 with a new sound wall, our current skills and recording capabilities 25 years later. We hail you demons, enjoy this special offering from us!”

Belphegor To Re-Release “The Last Supper” & “Blutsabbath” In January

Belphegor will be re-releasing “The Last Supper” and “Blutsabbath” on January 14 via Nuclear Blast. Both records have been remastered and they will be available on vinyl, as 2-CD sets, and digitally. Helmuth Lehner commented :

“While we are finishing up the last couple of dates of the ‘The Black Rituals‘ tour, we’re proud to announce that we will unleash our earliest offerings upon the masses again! Both albums have been remastered by Andy Classen and will be available in a variety of versions featuring uncensored artwork. Enjoy the first chapters of Belphegor’s diabolical death metal signature sound!”

Belphegor Plan To Release New Album In April 2022

Belphegor have revealed that they are planning to release their new album in April 2022. Helmuth Lehner said the following about the effort:

“4 years and 7 months after the highly rated album, ‘Totenritual‘, we are going to release this yet untitled monster. Feels like forever and truly can’t wait to share this with our supporters out there. We didn’t rush anything, we let the whole creative process flow and experimented with adding new arrangements to the extreme Belphegor trademark sound. During this Covid thing, we had a lot of extra time, so a lot of our hatred for our situation made it into this piece of art.”

Belphegor Offer Update On New Album

Belphegor have shared an update on their new album. The band are back in the studio working on the effort and a late 2021/early 2022 release is expected. Helmuth Lehner said the following:

“Hails from the recording studio! Serpenth tracked all bass parts and laid down his most precise bass lines to date. Two more weeks to go before the nine soundcollages get mixed and mastered in Sweden.”

As previously reported, Belphegor are also planning to head out on a fall 2021 tour with Batushka. However, the band have been receiving backlash for that trek due to it featuring the “fake” Batushka with Bartlomiej Krysiuk instead of the “real” Batushka with Krzysztof “Derph” Drabikowski. Belphegor haven’t been taking the criticism well either and are now facing controversy after reportedly using a homophobic slur while responding to an angry fan.
